Bio

Hello, my name is Kelie Shah. I am currently a junior at Lecanto High School. I just moved from India a few years ago (4-5 years ago). I would like to win as many scholarships as possible so that I can help people in the future by having a stable career. In my opinion, a stable career is needed in order to donate as much as possible to people in need, because I am not only interested in becoming a physician but also a philanthropist in the future. I want to be both a philiontropist and a physician because I love helping my community as much as possible.

    Learner Higher Education Scholarship
Higher Education is important to me because it can be beneficial for getting me a stable job. Higher Education requires a correct mindset, meaning that staying committed to one field only. I like staying committed to one field and advancing in it because that way I am saving money, time, and the effort that I put into that career field. In my opinion, having a stable job means that working until you wish the desire time to retire even after staying committed to the field. For example, I watch Bollywood movies a lot and there are lots of actresses that I adore. Even though there are a lot of actresses that stay committed to their fields, they still stop getting work at the age of 35. It is true that they still have enough to go by, but How long Can they Stay Without Work especially in something that they like? How Long Can They Stay Without Getting the Main Lead Roles in The Film?. For me the answer is not even a day because working is something that motivates you everyday to get better in life and keep on going forward to make a change in your surroundings. Higher Education always allows you to go back to the stable field that you choose in the beginning without having to worry about retiring early. I do agree with the fact that education is not for everybody, but also thinking about the future is also necessary and that can only be achieved through education. Higher Education always ensures that you always have a job ready if you get laid off or in the worst case scenario get fired, it also allow us to not ask anyone for money and it allows us to figure out situations in the worst possible scenario that we get in. Higher education also allows we to explore earthing in the world that I like no matter what age I get into. For example, There is a lady in my neighborhood who has many interests and she is a doctor. She has interest in many things such as dancing, traveling the world, drawing, and learning new things like boxing. She make sure to take out the time to fulfill everything with all the time that she has remaining even after working long hours. Her age is about 50. She has the ability to pay the bills by herself without relying on anyone, always do the things that she likes, and even hang out with her kids. She is a great example on how I view Higher Education because she explains correctly that there is a difference between linking something and doing something for longer periods of time. Even though she didn't wanted to be a doctor at first and be a dancer, she fulfilled them both by choreographing for a certain amount and by also maintaining her license and now she still has work by working at the job that she did just if she didn't last long enough in her career. Having Higher education is necessary because it can be beneficial for getting me a stable job that pays you no matter what age you are. Stable Career ensures that you also have something to go back to and it also ensures that you have the ability to cope with the situations that require having a good finance and it also allows you not look at someone at the time you ned money the most. It make sure that you always have the ability to pay off anything that you have in the process of something.

The best way to live a long, healthy life is by exercising, eating healthy, and meditating. Exercise doesn't mean working out in the gym for hours, and eating healthy doesn't mean always eating salads. Working out can be going on a run, doing yoga, or having a meditation session with friends. Meditation can help you become calm and allow only positive energy to enter because you are focusing on one thing for a specific amount of time. Doing yoga and running can be a great bonding activity with friends because sometimes you need other people to hang out with. Yoga and running can not only be good for bonding with people, but they can also help you avoid developing any back pain or diseases such as arthritis. For example, my mom's grandpa had an extremely healthy lifestyle when he was around 65 years old, and because he continued that lifestyle, he was able to live for 100 years. He had great concentration even at that age because he used to meditate a lot with his friends and would even give meditation classes to people who were depressed about life after retirement. Yes, he did have some hearing issues and had eyesight issues, but he had no digestive issues or walking issues without any medications. When he died, it was because he fell down one day at my grandpa's house, which led to him gaining weakness, and because of that, he wasn't able to eat anything. Eating healthy, exercising, and meditating is important because meditation can help with good concentration, which can keep diseases such as insomnia at bay, and eating healthy /exercising can lead you to having a long, healthy lifestyle just like my great grandpa, who was fine without any medication and was able to live a long life.

My learning with NF has not been so good because it makes it harder for me to understand that stuff that my classmates understand it pretty quickly. One day in my physics my teacher asked us to work on the boards with the people sitting at one table. I was honestly extremely embarrassed at that time because not only was I giving wrong answers to the persons that I was working with but the people that I was working wit were not very supportive of me and instead of helping me with the concept that I was struggling with, they finished the work all by themselves without involving me or helping me get along with them in that specific problem. The teacher in that class is just like the students who just helps all the smart kids and leaves people like me behind and even though she knows my condition and how hard it is for me to learn she refuses to help in any way shape or form. Most of the time I have to end up learning all the physics stuff that the teacher is teaching myself and or by relying on the YouTube videos online just to understand that stuff. Sometimes it gets really hard to incorporate the learning because sometimes I need up watching the same physics videos 10 or more times in a row just to get hang of something. For me its not like I get it once the teacher is done teaching the concept, it takes me much more than that because I don't understand something if I don't get lots of practice with something just to get better at one concept. This not just happens in my physics class but it happens in all the classes that I am in because it takes me forever to get one thing right and understand it correctly because I end up learning lots of stuff by myself and most of the times I don't end up getting help from the teacher even though I am struggling. I don't end up getting help from the teacher most of the times in high school is because I am in an Ib program where I am put forth with a bunch of smart kids who gets their study pretty quickly and can apply it the way teacher wants them to. With NF, even though learning is difficult and I end up taking the entire day just to get one concept in my mind, I consider myself capable for this scholarship because I don't have the tendency to give up just because my classmates are too busy to teach me the concept right or help me with it or just because my teacher is too busy assisting her favorite students. Even with the learning disability I am still passionate about my education because I made it to the IB program, where a bunch of gifted kids participate, I definitely don't consider myself gifted but I definitely consider myself gifted when it comes to working hard because even though it takes me days to get one concept right, I still have the time and patience to learn that topic without giving up and excel in the areas that I tend to struggle with more than my peers. I am a believer in working hard and put all the learning disabilities on the side. When I am learning a concept I don't care about it being hard because Hardwork never lets a person down and helps them achieve goals in any way possible. Working hard gets you forward not any disability.

The cartoon that has made an impact in my life is a Japanese cartoon Doraemon because that character gives me an inspiration that anything is possible when he is around and he even gives me a feeling that people like him are necessary. The people that I find just like him are my parents because they provide me with everything that I want in life with hesitating and saying no as long as that thing is appropriate to the situation. Doraemon helps nobita in every way possible by proving him with all the gadgets that he has and making his life easier to live through because it can get frustrating for student like him to live sometimes because he gets 0's in all the tests he takes in his 5th grade class. The character that has impacted me a lot is Doraemon because he helps nobita just like my parents.
    Bold Books Scholarship
The most inspiring book that I have read is Maya Angelou's I know why the caged bird sings. I found that book inspiring because it really shows the struggles that she went through in life. In the book, she had to stay go through lots of family drama such as getting raped my her mother's boyfriend at the age of 8 and constantly changing houses back and forth as an young child. Getting raped at the age of 8 was one of the biggest incidents of her life because she was a kid at that time and didn't know what was happening with her. As a kid she considered the attention that his mom's boyfriend was giving as love and affection that she never got from her parents as a kid. Constantly changing houses back and forth was also the biggest challenge of her life, because it is not easy for a kid to settle at one place, it takes time for them to settle. Even after those struggles Maya angelou didn't give up and kept going forward without looking back into the dark by becoming an inspiration not just for women but for the whole world. She showed the world that challenged are part of our life, going forward is the main part of the life. The most inspiring book that I have read is Maya Angelou's I know why the caged bird sings. Bold Financial Literacy Scholarship
One personal finance lesson that I find important is to save more than spend and make the right decisions. I have been given this advice by my family, and it is what they have followed for years. For example, when my grandpa first started his government job in India, his pay wasn't much, so my grandma encouraged him to ask the government for their quarters and join a different government work force so that he could make contacts with high post people and get government benefits so that they could save their money for rent. With this decision, my grandpa was able to get all the government benefits and even the post that my grandma wanted him to get. My grandparents were able to save a lot more money with that and were even able to help both my uncle and my dad have their own stable careers as doctors and CPAs. They were even able to pay for their educations and send them to America for higher studies. One personal finance lesson that I find important is to save more than spend and make the right decisions in order to not only help save myself from a lot of debt but also graduate college debt free. If I don't make any useless transactions like spending money on more clothes than I actually want, taking fewer vacations, and spending money on useful things needed in life, such as groceries, then I can not only graduate college debt free but also have some savings to help me even do higher studies. Making important decisions about career interests is also important so that we can have a plan about the spending and how we can get savings from there. Savings and decision-making are important for success in life, for future and present!
    Bold Giving Scholarship
Giving back is important to me because that way I am helping my community get better. I often like to give donations to my community especially to the children in the foster homes because they don't have anybody to take care of them or they don't even have anybody to look after them. Giving even a simple present can mean a lot to them and it can even give them happiness that they might not have received in some years. For example, I have been watching a YouTuber named Tia Bhatia who is adopted in India and one time she spoke about her adoption journey and how that made a huge difference in her life because when she went to live with her new parents, they found out that she had a whole in her heart that adoption company didn't tell them about and when her parents contacted the adoption company they told them that they can replace that child with some other child. That video of hers really made me understand the value of parents and it is important for everyone to have someone to look after them. I am not old enough to adopt someone but what I can do to make children like tia happy is that I can at least give them gifts and help the foster homes by giving them donations. I like to give those organizations donations so that they can have better equipment for the foundations and help those children with new technologies. Giving back is important to me because that way I am helping my community get better. I often like to give donations to my community especially to the children in the foster homes because they don't have anybody to take care of them or they don't have anyone to look.
    Bold Turnaround Story Scholarship
The turnaround story that I am proud of is the time when I placed 4th for the best drawing artist award in my state in India. In India, we had a competition in my state. We were all given the chance to participate in that competition and prove ourselves to be the best drawer. The best artists from my school took part in that competition, and some were very experienced. In India, I always used to go to the drawing classes that my mom enrolled me in. People from there participated there as well. I was nervous at first about participating in that computation with the best artists from my drawing class and the best artists from my school, and some of those best artists even told me that I was wasting my time participating . But my mom, who is also my ray of hope, told me that if I work hard in that competition, then I can win it no matter what. I practiced my drawing skills a month before the competition and tried to improve on the skills that I was not so good at. I even asked my drawing teacher for some suggestions for my drawing. With her suggestions and my hard work, I was getting better at it, and when the day of the competition came, I was confident and ready to participate. Those mean girls again told me that I should back out, but I continued without listening to their advice and performed my best in that competition. When they announced the results, 1 to 5, I placed 4th out of all the people that participated in that competition. It was honestly one of the biggest achievements I have received in my life because it taught me the value of patience and hard work.

    Bold Confidence Matters Scholarship
For me, confidence comes with small milestones in life. Confidence is not something that comes naturally because you have to work every day to achieve small milestones in life. In order to achieve those milestones, you have to be extremely patient and keep on working towards them. For example, when my uncle first moved to the United States from India, he had to pass some of his medical school exams and basically restart his residency even though he was a doctor in India. At first, it was difficult for him to understand medical school lectures because he was good at English, but it was also difficult for him to understand his professors because they were talking fast for him, and he also had difficulty understanding how and what to study for the exam because the concepts of India's medical school and America's medical school were different, but he eventually achieved his biggest milestone of becoming a doctor in the United States because he worked on his research of what to study and he watched and listened to more and more English videos to improve his English and understand his professors' lectures. When he achieved those small milestones with practice, he was able to pass all of his medical school exams, and he was patient throughout the entire process of achieving those milestones. I always take inspiration from him and try to increase my confidence every day by setting small milestones for myself as well as rewarding myself afterward. For example, I always make a plan for my weakest subjects and I try to understand the concepts that I struggled with in class by watching videos or doing practice problems online. Even though it takes me time to achieve those milestones, I keep on working at it by building my confidence.
    Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
I am not a kind of person who understands everything by reading a 30-40 page chapter. The strategies that I use to achieve academic success is by studying as much as possible in a fun way by taking marginal notes, playing quizlet sometimes to memorize the definitions or dates, and watching videos to clear up my understanding of the topic. For example, I sometimes like to play quizlet and memorize my vocabulary terms from there especially if they are history dates that I have to memorize. I also prefer watching khan academy and oversimplified videos. I like khan academy videos because they are usually short, succint, and concise. I like to watch oversimplified because they really make everything visual by telling a story. After I finish watching those videos I go back to my book and add on the information that was not covered in those videos in my notes.I always make sure to take my notes from both the video and the book so that I can combine them easily. I never take my notes on paper instead I prefer to take marginal notes and reading and asking myself questions from there. Instead of memorizing my notes I break them down into subunits. For example, if I am studying American revolution then what I will do is watch the video add on the information that the video didn't cover and give myself a blank sheet of paper and there I make myself write down the things that I understood and check it from there. The information dosen't have to be word to word as long as it explains the meaning of the topic. The strategies use to achieve academic success is by studying as much as possible in a fun way by taking marginal notes, playing quizlet, and watching videos

Someone that I admire from history is the founders of Declaration of Independence especially Samuel Adams. I think that he has not only sacrificed a lot for the country but he also has made decisions that help us now as well. He proposed the idea of national bank so that it can help nation not go in debt, it has also been a good idea to keep money in the bank because it shows that the nation is wealthy and also keeps nation's coffers full. He has sacrifices by proposing the idea of Sons of Liberty from which he proposed the idea that helped the nation rebel under the circumstances that were not acceptable such as "no taxation without representation" by going against taxes suck as stamp act, sugar act, and Intolerable acts. Without the continental congress it would have been almost impossible for all the nations delegates to meet at one place and decide on write thing. Sons of Liberty also encourages the idea of Daughters of Liberty which encouraged women's to speak up against the acts of British by helping the males in the revolution and also to boycott the goods produced by them.Someone that I admire from history is the founders of Declaration of Independence especially Samuel Adams. I think that he has not only sacrificed a lot for the country but he also has made decisions that help us now as well. Samuel Adams's plan has encouraged both men and women to speak up against independence and his foundations such as the continental congress has helped us in every way possible because from there the delegates were able to meet and really discuss the griviences that they had against King George 3 and continental congress also helped the delegates draft the declaration of independence through assistance.

Things that were on my bucket lists were to go to visit the tallest building in the world and see the view from the top of that building, second thing that was on my bucket list was to go and see Niagara Falls and one last thing that is in my bucket list is to go see Yosemite park. I love exploring nature and have unique sense of interests especially when it come down to traveling. The things that I have achieved is to go visit tallest building in the world. That wish got fulfilled when I first moved to America. We landed at Chicago and my dad told both me and my mom to go see the building and it was the best experience of my entire life because I didn't realize the amount of buildings Chicago had and I was able to see all the building that are in Chicago in that view and other wish that git fulfilled from my bucket list was to go see Niagara Falls and it was one of the best wonders I had ever seen. It was so pretty and the water was so clear as well. We even did lots of rides related to Niagara Falls such as maid of mist that takes you inside the Niagara Falls by using a boat and we even did behind the falls and from there we got to see the entire Niagara Falls so clearly and we also got to see the beauty that nature has. Things that were on my bucket lists were to go to visit the tallest building in the world and see the view from the top of that building, second thing that was on my bucket list was to go and see Niagara Falls and I got to achieve.

    Bold Influence Scholarship
If I was an highly influenced figure, the main thing that I would do would be is to respect all the mothers in the society as much as I can. Since I am so close to my mother, I really think that mothers should be given the respect way more respect than they are given now because they sacrifice so much for their kids. For example, if a single mother has kids, then she works as much as she can to provide a better future for them and help them not have the kind of job/ future that she had. A mother always excepts her child to always be happy and never have their kids get upset about anything. For example, even though my mother is a housewife, a lot of people say that she just stays home and might have a lot of time on her hands but that's not true my mom takes care of my join family. We live in a family of 8 members including my grandparents, my uncle and aunt and she works all day for us and make sure that we all stay happy, have awesome meals and a clean house. We all take mothers for granted but don't realize the value that she holds for us doses;t matter if she is a housewife or a working mother. A mother also plays a lot of roles in herself, she plays a role of a mother, sister. daughter, daughter-in law, and a wife. Mothers have the ability to take up tasks that not everybody can and she tries to keep her family and children happy. If I was an highly influenced figure, the main thing that I would do would be is to respect all the mothers in the society as much as I can
    Bold Deep Thinking Scholarship
I think the biggest problem the world is facing right now is the problem of parents forcing their children about grades. There are so many parents who think that it is impossible to have low grades in school.Parents don't understand the pressure their children go through by compering with other students. They don't understand that that competation can harm their children's mental health. The one way the world can work on it is through helping those children speak up to an adult or asking or help. For example,One of my friends would not like to talk to anyone or even ask anyone for help because she was getting pressured from her household to get her grades up as soon as possible. She wasn't able to get her grades up because she wasn't understanding the topics that the teacher was covering in class. When she wasn't talking to me, I immediately knew that something was wrong because she is a very open and talkative person who likes to talk a lot with other people. When I asked her is she was fine and that's when she broke up and told me about the pressure that she was getting from her parents and I helped her in the subjects that I understood more than her and also asked my teacher to help her in those topics. With my help and my teacher's help she was able to get her grades up quickly. I think the biggest problem the world is facing right now is the problem of parents forcing their children about grades. There are so many parents who think that it is impossible to have low grades in school. The one way the world can work on it is through helping those children speak up to an adult or asking or help.
    Bold Caring for Seniors Scholarship
One thing I do to improve the lives of elderly people in my community is that I try to spend as much time as possible with them. I don't really go to nursing homes and spend time with the residents there, but I make sure to spend time with my grandparents every week. I visit my grandparents once a week over the weekends and spend time with them there. I love spending time with them, and whenever we are together, I always make sure to keep them busy and happy. I keep them busy by walking with them outside, because they love to walk outside in nature and spend time in nature. We sometimes even go hiking, biking, and arranging a picnic in the area of nature together. Other things include me playing cards with them. My grandpa loves playing cards and he gets super competitive when we play cards together. Whenever we play cards, it brings happiness to his face that I love to see. On the other hand, my grandma loves to cook and visit the holy temple every Saturday. I often help her cook and also learn how to cook myself whenever I am with her, and I visit our holy temple with her and her friends. I love spending time with my grandparents every Saturday because it brings us together through the activities that we do together, such as hiking, biking, walking, playing cards, and cooking. The other thing is that I love to see the smile on their faces. Whenever I see them smile, it makes me really happy. Even though I don't really spend time with old people from nursing homes, I still make sure to spend time with my grandparents. I help them in every way possible by making them enjoy those activities.
    Bold Love Yourself Scholarship
There are two things that I love about myself. One is that I have an extremely forgiving nature, and another is that I always finish my food. One thing that I love about myself is that I have an extremely forgiving nature. Whenever anyone commits the mistakes that hurt me, I always try to forgive them as much as possible. There is always a second chance, and I think that everyone deserves that chance. Sometimes people commit mistakes out of anger, and sometimes they commit mistakes without even knowing that they are making them. For example, one time my sister and I got into a really big fight. And she told me something that really hurt me. She was forgiven in that instant because I knew that it was out of anger and she wouldn't commit that mistake again because it was not on purpose. Another thing is that I always finish my food. When I say that I finish the food, I mean that I never leave anything on my plate after I finish eating. I always finish my food because not everyone gets good food to eat. There are many people in this world who don't even get good food to eat. People sometimes starve for the food that I get on a regular basis. In my opinion, food is the best blessing that has been given to us by God. There are two things that I love about myself. Those two things have been taught to me by my family. My mom has always told me to always give people another chance by forgiving them, and my grandma has always taught me to finish my food because she has seen days when she didn't even get the food that we get on a regular basis to eat.

    Elevate Girl's Wrestling Scholarship
My favorite memory from wrestling is the moment when I won a game that was impossible to win. I love that moment because that is when all my hard work, effort, and the morning when I woke up early to practice have some meaning for them.  Wrestling is a sport that requires a lot of effort, practice, and time to get better at. A lot of people start wresting each day, and they quit because of the amount of time and strength it takes to be able to practice each day. I am happy that I haven't quit wresting because since childhood I have always been taught to always finish something that you start. Never come back to that thing until you finish it. When I won the biggest game of my life, it was the best achievement ever before the girl that I competed against. Not even the best player in my team was able to defend her. It had an extremely positive impact on me because it gave me a sense of confidence that I could even be better than the best player in my team. It is in human nature that when you defeat someone, you always feel better, especially if that person is better than you. In human nature, we always find ways to be better than others, and in sports like wrestling, there are many girls who are extremely talented and have started playing since their childhood. The kind of food that they get to eat sometimes I don't get to eat because I am a vegetarian and a vegan. Being vegan means that I can't even have eggs, which have a lot of protein in them. It was hard for my coach to assign me a great diet in order for me to be able to compete well and be as strong as other players. From the success that I got from that game, it gave me confidence in my coach and what he is worth in my life. He had put a lot of effort into preparing me and making me capable just like the other girls on the team, even though I had to eliminate so many things from my diet. He supported me in every moment of the game and even attended the game even though his wife's baby was due. He had a lot of commence on me, and he believed more than I did.  The game had a positive impact on me, not because I started believing in my coach more than I did myself, but because I was able to show the community that I was worth something. Because in the kind of household that I come from, people value education more than sports. They think that the only way to get ahead in life is through education and nothing else. but because my parents didn't listen to what the community had to say. They were able to give me confidence and told me that "you will be able to shut the mouths of people if you win something from the game." When I won the game with all my hard work, all the people from my community said that "you are extremely lucky to have a daughter like her". The people who said bad things about my sport and bad things about my parents about how they don't pay attention to me. They thought that my parents were the ones who were spoiling me and were not paying enough attention to me.  In conclusion, the only way to be proud of your achievements is by achieving them.

Isaac Newton is my favorite scientist because he developed many physical laws that we still use today.Without him, physics would not make sense at all. Newton's first law stated that an object would stay at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. This law applies to the real world as well, because if a rock is on the ground, it will stay on the ground at rest unless somebody decides to kick that rock. He was also the mastermind behind gravity, saying that force equals mass times acceleration. This law means that acceleration depends upon the acceleration where it compares all the forces acting on the object. If the mass were greater, the acceleration would be less. But if the mass were smaller, the acceleration would be faster, which would make an object move at a faster speed. Isaac Newton explained gravity through his laws of motion and mass.
    Collision Repair Technology Scholarship
Collision repair is the process of transporting a vehicle to a facility where mechanics repair vehicles that have been involved in a serious collision.I would love to be a part of fixing all the collisions because I love helping the community and bringing a smile to people's faces whenever they see their car fixed and back to normal again. As I have previously mentioned in my bio, I want to become a physician, but I am also accepting collision repair as my part-time career because I have always been interested in cars and learning how they work, and I want to have a source of income to pay my college debts and help community after my medical education. I am not sure which college to attend yet because I have so many colleges on my list.  I want to choose collision repair as my part-time career because I have seen many collisions happen in front of my eyes more than once. For example, my dad has been in more than one accident. One time, when he was driving, somebody hit his car from the back, completely destroying the back side. My dad was extremely upset because that was his first new car that got damaged because of someone else's mistake. I felt bad for him because he had to wait for days until he got a response back from the insurance company. When the insurance company finally responded, they told him that they would take the car and look at the condition. They looked at the condition of the car for almost 2 months and when they finally responded, they told him that he had two options: either to take the car back or send it in total loss by getting half the money he initially paid for the car. So what my dad decided was to take the car back and drive it locally while getting the lights fixed locally. I found the insurance company's response quite unfair because they didn't fix the car, even though it wasn't even my dad's fault.  I want to take up collision repair as my part-time career because I want to be able to help people who have been in accidents and have gotten a response similar to my dad's. Yes, I do agree with the fact that I want to make money out of that career too in order to pay off my medical school debts and get experience on how to fix collisions, but I also want to help people outside of my job who have gotten similar responses as my dad for free and have their cars be just like how it was before. Helping the community has always been on my list ever since I started volunteering at hospitals because I want to be a philanthropist in the future along with being a collision repairer and a physician. If I get awarded this scholarship, the promise that I would like to make would be to "not take collision repair to make money out of them and take their advantage." The only time that I would actually like to make money would be to pay off my school tuition, but that's it. If I am awarded this scholarship, I would always try to remain faithful to my community, and when I am in a position where I am capable, I would like to open up my own garage where I fix collision cars for free and help bring a smile to people's faces and try to reduce their stress as much as possible by not waiting for insurance companies.
    Bold Growth Mindset Scholarship
I keep a growth mindset by keeping myself busy through studying and volunteering at both the hospitals and clinics. Before I start saying anything about studying, I would like to clarify the fact that I am not the kind of person who studies for 5 to 7 hours constantly. I am only the type of person who studies as much as he or she can to be prepared and know the material well. Studying helps keep me busy all day, especially in the subjects that I love, such as math. I have always loved doing algebra since 6th grade because all the variables and expressions make sense to me, and it makes me want to learn more about them and how to apply them in real life situations, such as taxation and which item will help me make more profit out of it. Studying math helps me want to understand that even math has some purpose in life. I also love volunteering at my local hospitals and clinics because I love helping the community. Helping people in the hospital helps me be very grateful for my health and the condition that I am in right now. I help the patients by communicating with them in order to make them feel good about themselves. Helping people in the hospital not only makes me helpful, but it also teaches me a lesson about communication. Different types of communication skills are required to deal with different types of patients. Through studying math, I keep a growth mindset through applying all the formulas and expressions to real life. It helps me with a growth mindset because I understand the purpose of it and need it in every step of life. Communication skills that I love learning at the hospital make me a better communicator.
    Bold Investing Scholarship
One investing tip that you’ve taken to heart is to "never sell your property." Buying a property always benefits you and helps you make a profit out of it. According to the website census.gov, in 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau counted 331.4 million people living in the United States; more than three-quarters (77.9%), or 258.3 million, were adults, 18 years or older — a 10.1% increase from 234.6 million in 2010. The total population of the United States on April 1, 2020, was 331.4 million, an increase of 22.7 million from 2010. Last decade's 7.4% increase was lower than the previous decade's 9.7% increase and was, in fact, the lowest since the 1930s". The population of the United States has been growing since forever because of the diversity here. There are all kinds of people living in the United States, from Asians to Hispanics. Property prices always rise; they never fall in the face of adversity, such as the coronavirus. For example, when my uncle first bought his home in Tennessee, it was worth about $250,000 with the remodeling and everything. But when he sold it, it was worth almost $400,000 even though it was 10 years old. Owning a property such as a house is not a risky investment because of inflation. When the population increases, so do the prices of houses, because everybody needs a home at some point in their life, whether they move out or want to buy a house. Investing in a property can also help you save on taxes when paying off loans for that house. A property can also be given up for rental because it gives you a guaranteed, stable income every month without any risks. Investing in properties can help you with taxes, inflation, and rentals can guarantee stable income monthly weekly.
    Bold Self-Care Scholarship
I practice self-care through the art of meditation. Meditation has impacted my life a lot because it keeps me calm and helps me make the right decisions. Whenever I meditate, I always close my eyes and take deep breaths. By doing that, it helps me eliminate all the stress and bad and good things that happened to me that day. It not only makes me feel better, but also keeps all the jumbled thoughts away from my brain and gives me a sense of confidence to focus more on my goal. As a junior, I am required to take the SAT.But sometimes I don't do well on the practice tests, which makes me extremely sad and impatient. I cry all day without correcting my mistakes. After I practiced meditation, I started not only focusing better and stopping crying, but instead started making corrections to my mistakes and trying to improve. Meditation has also taught me the value of patience and how important it is to be one if you want to be successful. Meditation has also taught me the value of making decisions by thinking about both the pros and cons before making one. I have always been that person who gives up on something if I don't understand it, but after practicing meditation, I understood the fact that before making a decision, you should always think about your mental health and whether you will be able to handle the pressure or not. You should only go ahead with the decision if it is both beneficial for you and gives you a guarantee of successful mental health. Making a decision should always be considered mental health. I practice self-care through the art of meditation because it helps me maintain successful mental health and helps me focus on my goal efficiently.
    Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
A friendship is a relationship between two people where they support each other and help each other grow as a person. For me, a friendship is defined by one true friend who stays with you through both your good and bad times and supports you no matter what. A true friend will never want you to take the wrong path or deviate from your goal. For example, I watched a story on youtube where there were two girls who had been friends since childhood. One was always interested in journalism and the other was interested in acting. The girl becomes a journalist and asks her friend to move with her and apply for auditions because she lived in Maharashtra, a famous state for acting in India. The girl who wanted to be an actress starts applying for auditions and, after struggling, she gets an offer from a famous director. Her friend was very happy for her but warned her about the director, saying that he acts inappropriately newcomers. Still, the girl didn't listen to her and went on with the director, signing the contract without reading it. The director gave her nice presents, but one day he told her to do an inappropriate scene with her, which made her uncomfortable and made her want to leave the studio. She didn't come back after that. The director posted an inappropriate video of her on social media, which made the girl slip into depression. But because she had a nice friend, she collected evidence against the director and sent him to jail. The moral of the story is that because the girl who wanted to be an actress had a true friend, it was easy for her to get out of depression and get justice because she supported her no matter the situation.
    Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Being patient is extremely important to me, because with patience, there are many impossible things in life that are achievable. Being patient allows you to completely think through a problem when making an important decision. When patient people make a decision, they dig into the problem and think through it. They look at both the bad and good sides of the decision and make the best decision out of it through focus and by having a great willpower even in the worst situations possible. For example, I have always considered Mahatma Gandhi a symbol of patience because he went on fasts, went to jail, and rebelled until India got independent. Even though he lost his war against the British many times, he didn't give up and eventually started the Salt Satyagraha against the Quit India movement and fought toward it with patience and a strong willpower that made the British give up and leave India itself. We cannot even imagine how hard it must have been to make the nation independent without patience. Patience allows you not only to solve difficult problems, but it also allows you to have great willpower when making a decision. As we saw in Gandhi's example, he had to go through a lot and he even had to see the deaths of people who gave their lives without even thinking about it. Even in those situations, Gandhi did feel bad, but at the same time, he had great willpower for the country and that led him to move ahead and always remember where they came from. Being patient is extremely important to me because it allows you to completely think through a problem when making an important decision carefully. Ultimately, it allows you to stay focused and willpower leads you to make the right decision.
    Bold Financial Freedom Scholarship
The most helpful piece of financial advice I have received from my parents is to "always make your budget". I found this advice helpful because without a budget, you won't know where your money is going. It is very important to know where your money is going because it helps you make sure that you don't spend the money you don't have. Most people, such as teenagers, when they get a job, spend way more than they make when they first start their jobs as low-wage workers, because they get freedom with their money. They don't start saving until they move out, and then they regret not having done so.After they move out, they have to manage their education, bills, and jobs. It is very important to have enough savings before moving out, because that way it will be less stressful and manageable. Budgeting can also help you get out of debt as soon as possible. For example, Budgeting has been a long tradition in my family because when my uncle first moved to America, he didn't understand how to save up his money and pay his loans that he was going to take up for medical school. Making his own budget helped him so much, because from that he got an understanding of how much everything cost and where he could save more money in order to graduate from medical school debt free, which he eventually did. Budgeting not only helped him graduate medical school, but it also helped him not be in debt. His savings helped him be able to buy his own house. Having a Budget is extremely important for every single individual out there because it can help you not spend the kind of money you don't have and can help you get out of debts.
    "If You Believe..." Scholarship
The adversity that I have overcome is the shame of judgement. In middle school, I used to get made fun of all the time for my accent and the way I dressed because I had just moved to America from India. I like to inspire others through my entire journey of immigration because it gives me a way to show the world that yes, it is not easy at first to leave your country and move ahead from it, but with support and hope, almost anything in this world is achievable.  One example that I share with the world all the time and inspire them from it is the example of Laxmi Agarwal. Laxmi Agarwal was an acid attack victim in India who was attacked at the age of 16 by her brother's friend because he wanted to marry her and she said no. When she first saw her face, she was extremely devastated because it was all burned and her facial structures were so out of place. She went through multiple surgeries but made no significant improvement in her looks, and the worst thing of all was that the guy who threw acid at her got bailed, and at that time in India, they had no punishment for acid attackers, which devastated Laxmi more.  Even though the entire community judged her and gave her comments such as "It would have been better if she would have died". "How is she going to get married?" But Laxmi didn't listen to anyone and overcame the shame of judgement by fighting towards it and making sure that the guy who threw acid at her got the punishment that he deserved. It took Laxmi 10 years to approve a punishment for the criminal and get a law approved, which was to approve the use of acid to an extent and place certain limits on it. When I read about her struggle, I thought that my struggle was nothing compared to hers.  This story gave me hope to overcome my shame of judgement. Because it wasn't my fault that I had an accent when I first moved to America from India. The only thing that I could have done just like Laxmi was to fix my struggles and see the areas where I was going wrong. Like improving my English by reading more books or by watching more English TV shows. When I was getting better at my English, it gave me a strong inner confidence about myself and my worth in this world. It also taught me the value of patience. It is extremely important to have patience, just like Laxmi did, when she had to wait 10 years to get two laws approved. My English improvement was gradual; it took several months for me to adapt to new vocabulary and learn how to connect sentences so that I could communicate easily not only with my teachers but also with other people. Learning English not only taught me patience, but helped me overcome the shame of judgement. Patience is all that's required to achieve your goals. Patience can win the entire world nicely.
    AMPLIFY Immigrant Students Scholarship
My unique story of immigration has impacted me in all the ways possible because I had to leave my country, my home, where I had grown up for all 12 years of my life. My immigration story began in August of 2015 when my dad sat for the CPA exam. For those of you who don't know what CPA is, it basically stands for "certified public account." When he got his accounting degree, he instantly got a job offer in Tennessee, America. I was personally very devastated and shocked after listening to the news of leaving my country forever, because I had to leave all my family and friends behind to start a new journey in my life, it was not easy. But then my dad and mom both came to me and told me that moving to America can give you a lot of opportunities which can help me be dependent and help me pursue my dream to become both a philanthropist and a doctor. That idea filled me with excitement about moving to America. When I first joined school in America, it was all very different for me because it was so different from the way I had grown up in India. In America, we had to change classes by ourselves, whereas in India, teachers came to our class to teach us and give us lessons. I was also not used to eating in a cafeteria surrounded by the smell of meat. In India, eating meat is not very common, so it was quite different for me at first. Then the act of bullying came forward, which devastated me even more. People constantly made fun of my accent and judged the way I pronounced some words.  Bullying in middle school made me extremely depressed and I was constantly giving up on my idea to be a philanthropist and a doctor. But then my role models, my parents, stepped in as always and told me that I should just focus on myself, not the way other people think about me. My dad told me, "Who are they to judge you?" You should just focus on your education and focusing on getting my English better. I listened to what my parents told me to do exactly and I started reading as many books as I could as soon as possible, which helped me not only improve my English, but also taught me how to pronounce some words correctly. Then came my journey through high school, which was quite interesting because this time, because my dad's company wasn't making enough profit, we got laid off from his job. This depressed both me and my mom because we had just started settling in America. But luckily, God listened to our prayers and my dad got a new job in Florida. I was quite sad to leave Tennessee. Because even though it introduced me to terrible bullies, it also taught me how to have patience and how much effort it takes to learn a new language. During my junior year of high school, I was introduced to this website called bold, and it gave me a ray of hope to gather as many scholarships as possible in order to not only achieve my dream of becoming a philanthropist and a doctor, but also make my journey through college easier because I got a chance to share my immigration journey through this essay. I consider myself capable of winning immigrant student scholarships because I have been through the experience of being an immigrant myself and have experienced the struggle it takes to be immigrant.

The most inspiring book that I have read is "Tuesdays with Morrie". That book is very inspiring because Morrie gives us some of the most important lessons in life, such as the point of death, the value of family, and wealth. Death is not something to be afraid of because it gives us a reason to enjoy our lives very well and cherish every moment of them. Our good deeds before death give us a reason to be remembered not only by our close family members but also by the community in which we live. Morrie made us realize the value of death positively. The other important lesson he gave us was the value of family. He told us that without family, almost everything in this world was impossible. A family is like a pillar in life that guides you through every moment of life and stands with you no matter what. Because Morrie had such a good relationship with everyone, the family always had a very strong bond that is filled with trust and honesty. He had people that cared for him and wanted to be with him in every second of the life that remained for him in the book. In the book he also talked about wealth, where he told us that owning expensive things is a privilege that not a lot of people get in this world, but at the same time, those things cannot bring happiness in your life. It is necessary to stay happy from the inside. Showing off luxurious items brings competition in life where we forget to enjoy the privileges that God has provided us with. Finally, I consider Tuesdays with Morrie inspiring because Morrie gave us important messages about life, such as death, the value of family, and wealth isn't everything.
    Bold Wisdom Scholarship
"Cheating will never get you ahead". I got this quote/ sentence from Dhar Mann's YouTube channel from one of his YouTube video. I love this quote/ sentence so much because it is so true in the everyday lives of students especially if they are trying to get something done without understanding the topic. Cheating off of a website can be beneficial to finish the assignment and meet the deadline but it can be extremely harmful to future tests because there you will not get any resources to cheat off of. But you might be wondering: "Well, you can cheat off of someone and still pass the big test". Well, that is true to an extent if you tend to not get caught but if you get caught then the consequences can be bad. Even if you don't get caught and still pass the test with it will be beneficial for that specific moment but not in the long run. It will not be beneficial in the long run because you wouldn't be able to understand critical/ hard topics in the future. Having a basic understanding is very important because basic topics help you understand harder topics faster. It is very important to go through the process of trial and error when you trying to understand a topic without giving up because it can help you understand your mistakes and can help you to not repeat those mistakes in the future. Humans tend to learn more when they make mistakes. Edison's example is the best for this topic because it took him 10,000 attempts to make a light bulb. At last, I love the quote/ sentence "Cheating will never get you ahead" because cheating can be beneficial to an extent, and the process of trial and error is necessary to succeed.

My favorite book is I know why the caged bird sings because that book shows the hardships that Maya Angelou goes through and how she fights them. She has endured a lot in her life and has faced all the challenges with confidence and patience. Maya Angelou and her brother hets dropped down to their grandma's house just as little kids where they had to live without their parents during the main years of her childhood. Having a parent is extremely important because without parents the love and affection get missing and the ability to talk to an adult also goes away. In the book, Maya gets raped as a child because she didn't understand the difference between parently love and sexual abuse. She was unable to speak about the incident and goes into depression. But still, she overcomes the depression by talking to an adult. She was also a leader behind segregation, In the book, she clearly stated how blacks were kept different from other people where their money was considered equal but not their position in the community. In one of the incidents, she stated that all the whites in her area got store-bought clothes where the blacks preferred to make their clothes because the store-bought clothes that they purchased were ugly and of bad quality. Blacks weren't allowed to be given any respect because in the book a few girls call her grandma by her name. The author realized all the differences between blacks and whites during her adulthood and stood up for the community to give them equal rights and status in the community. My favorite book is why the caged bird sings because it inspires people to fight difficult situations with courage and get rights for the community inorder to protect the community from disrespect.
    Bold Art Matters Scholarship
My favorite art piece is the starry nights by van gosh. I like that piece because the story behind it is inspirational on how created the drawing in the mental institution where he was behind the bars. He saw the colors and immediately thought of the idea of starry nights. This is quite inspiring because he inspired the world by showing that anyone can become an artist. They don't have to be very good at it just with some trials and errors they can improve their painting/drawing. The composition on which he created his drawing was looking down on the village, top of the tree with a horizontal line where the sky (the most beautiful part) takes up half the drawing. The drawing also creates a very asymmetrical urban nature feel which connects us to the drawing because he proves the idea that a drawing doesn't have to be perfect/ symmetrical to look good, creative idea is all there is needed to make the drawing look good. I like the drawing because of its colors as well. Even though he used a primary color palette he still managed to make lots of blue shades and made the contrasting colors stand out. With just one brush he managed to create various details, with no tools to get symmetrical shapes. He used details in a very unrealistic way and still mages to connect it with the real world. My favorite art piece is the starry nights by van gosh because the story behind the drawing is very inspirational, he inspired people to draw even though the drawing didn't look good and he made an unrealistic art look very realistic in a way in which it was created, it was created with asymmetrical lines and with just primary colors he created many shades.
