Hello, my name is Keaton Watts. I am currently a senior in high school at Bridge City High School in Bridge City, Texas. Bridge City is a small town in Southeast Texas. I have been a Bridge City Cardinal throughout my entire school career. We are a small community, with a lot of school pride! During my school career, I worked hard to achieve my goals. I am an excellent student and continue to push myself to achieve my goals in the classroom. Currently, I am enrolled in dual credit college classes to get a jump start on my college education. Receiving this scholarship will assist me in achieving important goals of mine. For example, I plan to major in Pharmacy when I attend college. Pharmacy has always been an interesting field to me because you are a doctor of medicine, PharmD. You help patients by giving them the medications they need. This is just as important as surgery performed by another medical doctor! My biggest dream is to be a Clinical Pharmacist at a hospital. The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications to all patients of the hospital. This is a very important piece of the patient’s outcome and hopeful recovery. Because of the opportunity granted to me by this scholarship, I will be able to pursue those dreams and attend one of the best Pharmacy schools in Texas at the University of Houston.
On top of this, the financial help from receiving this scholarship will be helpful to me and my family. Every dollar counts these days, and being able to relieve the cost of the classes will help keep financial stability within my household. Achieving my goals won’t only consist of having a steady mind, but also steady money management.
Lastly, I am grateful for the opportunity to expand my reach. I am very excited to see what will come of my education, and I truly believe the only way from here is up. As of now, I am in the top ten percent of my high school class. I have worked hard thorough out my school career to achieve this accomplishment and I intend to continue this through my college years. My goal is to attend college classes in the fall, spring and summer semesters to finish as early as possible. This will allow me the opportunity to get out in the world and make a difference to patients in my community.
