Bio

My future career goal and dream is to become a Firefighter/EMT. This career would not only let me help others, but the training can open the door to many other opportunities further down the road if I wanted. Firefighter jobs are hard to get but if I am determined and put my mind to it, I can get it done. In my opinion, this job would allow me to wake up and be excited to go to work knowing that I am making a difference. One day, I hope to be set and stable enough in my firefighting career to be able to be promoted into a leadership position at a firehouse. This job, after working in the field for long enough, will provide me with a stable job for all of my other future hopes and dreams. In the future, I plan on buying a house and having a family and kids. These are all the things that I hope to accomplish and become in my adult life.

My name is Keaton Thompson and I am a senior at White Pass Jr. Sr. High. I have lived in a small town called Randle my whole life. I grew up with two older brothers, and my twin brother. My brothers and I grew up fishing and being outdoors, two things that I still enjoy to this day. Sports have also been a big part of my life. I have been playing sports basically all of my life, beginning in kindergarten. The sports I have played are football, basketball, baseball, and cross country. My whole life, I have enjoyed helping other people and have always been a hard worker in everything I have done, including sports, school, and all of the jobs I have done. Helping people is what I want to do. This is why I want to be first responder. To become a Firefighter/EMT, my first step will be to volunteer at a local volunteer fire department. I am currently working with Randle Fire Department to become a volunteer so once I turn 18, I will be able to start going on calls and serving my community as a volunteer firefighter. Starting in September of 2024, I will be attending Central Washington University. While attending college, I plan on majoring in either Safety and Health management or EMS Paramedicine. These programs would give me knowledge that would aid my career in the fire service. While attending and studying at Central Washington University, I plan on volunteering at Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue. Volunteering will give me the experience as well as the knowledge that I will need to pursue my career as a firefighter. Being a firefighter will let me do what I love while making a difference in my community.
