Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, I was exposed to the difficulties of living with divorced parents from a young age. This motivated me to create my own path. As I grew up, my inquisitive nature and strong principles directed me to pursue higher education. I took advantage of every chance and worked hard in college. I am now a Biology major with a minor in Japanese/ Pre-Dentistry at Saint John’s University. My passion for learning, combined with risk-taking and challenging myself, drives me to excel in the field of dentistry. I am constantly learning and improving my understanding of dental hygiene, disease impacts on health, and surgical skills. Additionally, I am developing my customer service and administrative skills, as well as my carpentry and mechanic capabilities. I have also traveled to experience different cultures and gained a better understanding of moving frequently and being a first-generation student through my own experiences. Through my academics and extracurriculars, I strive to become a better version of myself and make a lasting positive impact.

Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, I was exposed to the difficulties of living with divorced parents from a young age. This motivated me to create my own path. I am now a Biology major with a minor in Japanese/ Pre-Dentistry at Saint John’s University. My passion for learning, combined with risk-taking and challenging myself, drives me to excel in the field of dentistry. I have also traveled to experience different cultures and gained a better understanding of moving frequently and being a first-generation student through my own experiences. Through my academics and extracurriculars, I strive to become a better version of myself and make a lasting positive impact.
My goal is to gain experience and learn quality dental care. To increase my knowledge, I joined the Pre-Dental Club as a Treasurer, pursued a mentorship, and took on a Surgical Assistant internship over the summer. My career objective is to improve the image of dentists to children by learning to teach English and Japanese, carving ivory, and participating in college art events.
As a Student Supervisor at the college cafeteria, I'm responsible for managing, helping out, and delegating during shifts. Dentist Shadowing gave me insight into the tools and progression of dentistry. Furthermore, my experience as a tourist receptionist fostered my respect for customer service, ensuring customer needs were met. As a carpenter and mechanic helper, I gained an appreciation for hard work and the importance of understanding one's tools.
In addition to my professional experience, I have overcome a unique set of circumstances that prepared me for life in and during college. Growing up in rural and tribal communities in Two Rivers and Stebbins, AK, being a first-gen college student, plus having to manage Covid-19 challenges during my studies, strengthened my resolve and inspired me to use my knowledge to help others and make a positive change. My upbringing taught me the importance of resilience and perseverance, while my native culture has allowed me to gain native cooking skills and develop packable resources as an out-of-state student. Troubles during Covid-19 forced my school to put everyone on the block schedule. The block schedule allows one class for one month. This including losing my baggage containing my laptop crippled my ability to complete tests and quizzes in a timely manner resulting in a CD grading for my Chemistry 125 class. Despite these setbacks, I am dedicated to continuous learning and to becoming the best version of myself.
My career goal is to become a Dentist for my community. I am deeply motivated to provide quality dental care and improve the lives of my patients. With the experience, I have gained in customer service, mechanics, and carpentry, I am well-prepared to deliver the best service possible to my patients. I am also dedicated to learning foreign languages and cultures, which will allow me to better serve and communicate with my patients. I am confident that I possess the experience and dedication necessary to thrive in the field of dentistry. The main reason why I chose dentistry as my career goal is my belief that it would allow me to treat the maximum amount of people compared to other professions and to promote healthy teeth lifestyles in rural Alaska.

My goal is to gain experience and learn quality dental care. To increase my knowledge, I joined the Pre-Dental Club as a Treasurer, pursued a mentorship, and took on a Surgical Assistant internship over the summer. Unfortunately, I couldn't go on a Belgium study abroad course due to financial constraints, but I researched and learned the fermentation process of rice. My career objective is to improve the image of dentists to children by learning to teach English and Japanese, carving ivory, and participating in college art events.

Bold Investing Scholarship
One investing tip that I've taken to heart that's helped me in preventing losses is that I shouldn't worry too much about the short-term losses but rather the long-term gains. The friend always said that persistence and patience is key to succeeding in life and I've taken that to heart by not being blinded by short term gains/ losses but looking further than that and seeing over an extended amount of time the investments would bear fruit to earn a profit more than what was invested. An example of this happening is in Crypto. During the summer, I invested in MANA with the price set at $0.69. The recent price for MANA was $6.00 per MANA.
You Glow Differently When You're Happy Scholarship
I was hanging out with my friend at Walmart and when we got outside he remembered that he forgot something to buy something. I decided I'd wait outside while he goes to get it but he wanted me to come with him and one of the explanations that convinced me was when he said, "I'd let you keep complaining about how Walmart can't count".
Bold Dream Big Scholarship
My dream life would be completing my dentistry training and being allowed to practice it on my own along with learning enough Krav Maga to teach it to people. These two things would complement each other allowing me to create a self-sufficient business in helping fix teeth and helping others prevent breaking their teeth from other people. Another dream of mine includes becoming fluent in Japanese and owning 3 dogs. I'd like to live my life the same way the singer of My Way by Frank Sinatra lived his own, without regrets and living it to the fullest. I would like to live comfortably but not too richly since I'd have no clue what to do with all of it. I'd like to see the world and see all of my friends that I've made worldwide, such as Taiwan, Japan, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, and China. Lastly, I want to learn German too to flex on my little brother who is also learning german.

One investing tip that I've taken to heart is one of the first tips I received when setting up my account with Coinbase and Robinhood. Each investment takes time to accumulate and sure there may be ups and downs along the way but eventually, those investments will repay for themselves. The first thing I invested in was Etherium when China and Elon Musk brought them down to an all-time low. The first couple of weeks of investing in Etherium was a bumpy ride but eventually, it slowed down and is now providing me with an extra $500.

Finesse Your Education's "The College Burnout" Scholarship
Soul Meets Body - Death Cab for Cutie
- This is here because it describes the number of times I listen to music while working on homework. Sometimes the music gives me the inspiration to add a small phrase or word into an essay to spice it up a bit.
Dancing in the Moonlight - King Harvest
- Honestly, I just love taking out the day's stress by swimming in the lake at midnight.
One Headlight - The Wallflowers
- I went to school out of state so I've practically left all of my friends back up in Alaska whereas my school is in Minnesota. It's also got a personal annotation to it as for the longest time I drove my car with only one headlight.
Another one Bites the Dust - The Queens
- This song reminds me of the back-to-back nature homework is in college.
Wake up - Cheese People
- Sometimes I have a hard time waking up especially if I went exercising the day before this song is a bit similar to my alarms in that it progressively gets louder and adds in more sounds over time.
Friday I'm in love - The Cure
- Throughout the week it's always repetitive study and homework. It's always on Friday that I get a day to relax and have the free time to work on extracurriculars, scholarships, etc.
Hey there Chlamydia - TheBobRiversShow
- This isn't from personal experience but I know a couple of friends that went through this.
Ocho Cares Artistry Scholarship
Being an artist is about finding something I have an interest in and fleshing out that idea to the fullest. Being an artist is about using those sparks of enlightenment to create something people may come to look at and enjoy. Creating something has always been enjoyable for me. In fact, it all started back in 8th grade when I began playing Minecraft. I'd have a vague vision of what I want to build and personify that into something real. This feeling has carried me through from my time in 8th grade to the present. In high school, it helped me through art class where one of the many things I made in that class was Van Gogh's painting rendition in which I switched the stars with Patrick Star from the TV show Spongebob. Another of my works in Art class was of a clay mug I made. That mug had a face on it and when I was painting I accidentally added too much to the eyes and caused the paint to drip down causing the mug to have a crying face. I thought about getting rid of it, but I felt it added more personality to the mug when relooking at it.
Creating something and finishing them has always brought a sense of accomplishment and that's what keeps driving me to always express that artistic side of me. It drives me by allowing me to be open to people even though I'm a quiet guy most of the time. Being an artist helped me express what I've been feeling without having to verbally say those feelings out loud.
This is how I'm connected to being an artist as well. Being an artist helped me throughout my life by giving my life the color that it needed to thrive.
One of the reasons I want to connect with future generations through art would be to spread the idea that if they don't feel comfortable spreading what they are feeling through words they can still express that through any form of art that they may prefer.
