I found myself walking into Lowcountry Pregnancy Center hoping that those two lines on a home pregnancy test were a joke. When they walked into that room with a paper and an arm full of pamphlets my heart dropped. Twenty-one years old and now i have a helpless tiny human, due September 2024. I would have never found myself in this situation but there I stand. Lived in Charleston not even a full year and already soon to be a Mom. No support from the baby's Dad or my family. Times are going to get difficult. Despite this eventful pregnancy and what is to come with motherhood. I never wanted to give up school. In fact, this pregnancy has given me more motivation to complete my degree. I wont give up on my dream to become a Nurse in the United States Air Force. Providing for my son and I. This will help create an example for him and anyone around us to acheive their goals no matter what life throws at you. To succeed when everyone says that you cant. To see the events of my life and think to themselves if this mom can do it then they can too. I want to give back everyday. Providing care for families who are in their most vulnerable moments. Sympathize and Empathize the struggles they may be going through while doing the thing that I love. I want to use my degree to help people and soldiers who risk their lives every day for this country. I want to be an example to people that the love in your heart is not limited by the situation you are stuck in. To show motivation and to help others find that motivation within themselves. I plan on volunteering at pregnancy centers around the world, wherever i am stationed at. Helping women who are scared like i was, and be a walking testimony to inspire these women that life doesnt have to stop just because you're bringing a baby into this world. To motivate them that you do not have to give up on your dreams because a baby is arriving. To look at life with a baby not as a hard stop, but as a new perspective and figure out new routes to their goals. I want to help the many women who find themselves in the spot I found myself and let them know they dont have to face it alone. They dont have to give up on what they want to do with life. They can still be the best possible version of themselves all while being an amazing mother.
