Hiii!
My name is Kayleah Harvell, and I'm a young woman with an unyielding spirit and an unwavering determination to overcome life's challenges. Growing up in a single-parent household, I have experienced firsthand the resilience and strength that comes from facing adversity head-on.
Now, as I embark on my journey at Loyola University in Maryland, I am pursuing a dual major in Global Studies and Art History, fueled by my deep passion for exploring the world and its diverse cultures. My dream is to become the first black art museum curator, traveling the globe to connect with individuals from various countries, immersing myself in their stories, and cherishing their unique customs and traditions.
But my ambitions don't stop there. I am committed to breaking down barriers and making the art world more accessible to low-income black communities, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to experience and appreciate the beauty of art. With a relentless thirst for knowledge and an unwavering commitment to social justice, I am determined to leave an indelible mark on the world, one that promotes inclusivity, understanding, and cultural appreciation.

Throughout my academic journey, I have constantly sought to challenge myself and expand my horizons. Dual enrollment allowed me to earn my associates' degree while working, teaching me valuable life skills such as resilience, time management, and the importance of seizing every opportunity for growth.
My mom has been an incredible inspiration in my life. Despite raising three children, she recently achieved her bachelor's degree, proving that dedication and perseverance can lead to fulfilling dreams. Her journey has taught me the value of determination and the power of education in transforming lives.
I am deeply passionate about Art History and Global Studies as they provide a unique perspective on the cultural and historical aspects of art around the world. I believe that art has the potential to transcend borders and connect diverse communities. My desire is to use this knowledge to leverage art as a powerful medium for low-income students to explore and express their own experiences.
Leadership, to me, goes beyond just holding a position; it is about guiding others to discover their potential and empowering them to achieve their dreams. I am committed to being a compassionate leader, creating an inclusive environment where every individual's voice is heard and valued.
In my pursuit of leadership, I envision organizing art programs and workshops for underserved communities, allowing them to share their stories and perspectives with the world. By providing a platform for self-expression, I hope to promote empathy and understanding among people from different backgrounds.
Through my education in Art History and Global Studies, I aspire to bridge cultural gaps and promote cross-cultural appreciation. I believe that art has the power to break down barriers and foster a sense of unity among diverse communities. Inspired by family, I'll use art and leadership to empower, connect, and create positive change.
