My life goal is to become an artist that a majority of people would know by the style of my artwork. My passion and my muse would be my artwork itself and my mother.

“You inspired me to become an artist” is one phrase that I love to hear that results in me continuing to do what I’m doing. You never know that the stuff you love to do would inspire others to do the same thing. Everyone has been inspired by someone to create an idea that defines them. I have been inspired by incredible artists online throughout the years. My plan to make a positive impact on the world through my art is to become a better you by establishing a name for yourself. For example, you’re playing a video game and got stuck on a level that you can’t beat. Instead of giving up, you overcome your obstacles by constantly replaying that level until you beat it and reach the next level. I remembered that I only drew with graphite pencils, refusing to add color to my art because it was hard which led me to despise it. I had an art block, thinking to myself that my life is not in black and white. As of today, I'm in love with color because my life is like a coloring book. My skills have also expanded out of just drawing with pencils which are painting. My style in my art defines me by creating something unique but beautiful that you would think that didn't correlate with one another initially. I never knew that the better me would touch color, but it came about from me challenging myself. It all takes practice to achieve in life. It’s ok to fail at first, but don’t let that loss overcome you, continue to fight it until you defeat it.

Bashar Artemis is what I called this masterpiece. This masterpiece that I’ve created surprisingly became my favorite artwork because I overcame my fear of replacing my graphite pencils and colored pencils with a small round paintbrush. What inspired its creation was when I had an art block a couple of months ago. Feeling that I constantly don’t give my all when it comes to my artwork encouraged me to try something new: painting. Initially, I hated painting because I had a hard time mixing a variety of colors when it came to skin tones. As of right now, I’ve conquered that challenge on my current painting that I’m working on. Besides that, what also inspired this painting is when I was on Pinterest looking for new styles that would fit with my current style, urban. What caught my eyes were oil paintings that consists of the natural appearance and statues that you would see during the Classical period. As I was thinking more about the Classical period, I thought of Greek mythology. This was when my idea came into life: Urban Greek Mythology. What happens when you combine Urban style with Greek aesthetic? A match made in heaven. With the use of oil paint, this idea would look like a masterpiece which I thought of before creating this painting and I proved myself right. The meaning behind this painting Is that this is a late rapper named Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson. His birthday is on July 20th which would make him a Cancer. The Cancer god/goddess would be Artemis in which I used an element from her which are her arrows to portray Bashar as Artemis. Talking about this painting alone gets me excited because I did not expect to create such beauty with a medium that I used to hate the most.
