Little Bundle Supermom Scholarship — High School Award
I am a triplet with a single mother who does absolutely everything in order to ensure we have what we need and even more than that. My mother has shown me how strong and independent women can do amazing and wonderful things in life. Having a single mom has shown me how strong a mother's love is, so much so that a single mom, like my mom, will surrender her dreams or desires in order to take care and be there for her children. My mother stopped her dream of being a teacher to go on bedrest to ensure my two sisters and I were as healthy as possible while in the womb. Once we were born, she stayed with us in the NICU every day for as long as she could. Being born two months premature, we were in the hospital for months and she never left our side until we came home. She sacrificed her life for ours and I am forever grateful for her and what she has done for me and my sisters.
In my future in college I hope to study either Social Work or Child Advocacy and Policy. My dream is to earn both my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree to become either a Child & Family Welfare Social Worker or Adoption & Foster Care Social Worker. The reason I want to become a social worker is to help children who are struggling with conflicts in their families because I struggled with conflicts and problems with my family in my childhood. I want to help children who are in an unsafe family environment find a place that they feel secure. I want to help children who are suffering because of abuse or neglect and children who are going through the foster care system. I am hoping to fight for justice as a Social Worker in order to advocate for and help those in need, whether that be socially, mentally, or emotionally. I want to be apart of social change, empowerment, and development by ensuring anyone I work with has their basic needs met. Overall, I want to help and fight for the children who are too young or vulnerable to fight for themselves. My greatest goal is to help as many children and families as possible and to be able to go to sleep each night knowing that I am having a positive impact on the lives of others. I am going to take what I have learned from my life experiences and utilize them in a positive way to make a difference in the world.
In order to get to this goal, I am taking advanced college prep, honors, college level, and AP classes in high school. I have studied for and taken my ACT and SAT multiple times to aim for the best score, I have maintained a weighted 4.346 cumulative GPA, and have currently obtained the class rank 8 of 234 at my high school in order to impress colleges and universities. Despite all of this hard work, my family needs all of the financial help we can get. Winning this scholarship will help me pay for college and it will also help take so much stress off of my mother who has to worry about paying for three children to go to college at the same time during a global pandemic. I want to help my mom out by earning scholarships to help pay for my college education because after everything she has done for me, she deserves so much appreciation and recognition; this is what I can do to give back to her.
