My ultimate life goal is to become a pediatric nurse and help out children in need! One of my greatest passions is volunteering, whether that is through the West Islip Cheerleading association or National Honor Societies. Another passion of mine is traveling because I love learning about new cultures, and taking these new cultures back home with me to spread to others. During my free time, I love to bake ) and going to the beach. What I cherish most is spending time with my family. My aspiration in life is to become an exceptional nurse, where I will care for others with great intent. I am eager to go onto college, and begin my journey towards becoming a nurse.

Ambition Scholarship
Pursuing a career in nursing is something that has been a dream of mine. After my mom had a near death experience with her heart attack, you would think I hated going to her daily cardiologist appointments and hospital visits, but to be frank, I loved it. I cherished the times I spent with her in numerous doctors offices even if it just meant squeezing her hand as she got pricked with needles. The reason I cherished this so deeply is because not only was I sharing quality time with my mother who I almost lost, but I was learning as well. Watching the nurses as they performed intricate tasks on my mother while simultaneously calming her nerves always amazed me. As I observed the nurses help her both physically and emotionally, my desire to be able to provide this care for others was immediately sparked. Witnessing these moments opened my eyes to a passion of mine that will aid me tremendously in my career as a nurse, and that is helping others.
What inspired me further to pursue a career in nursing is my ambitious attitude towards helping children. Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in Child Development and Child Studies classes where I earned a certificate in. In addition, I have babysat from 2020 to present, where I’ve watched these children intently, ensuring that they are cared for at all times. My ultimate goal is to eventually specialize in pediatric nursing where I can take my skills and knowledge with children, and apply them to my career. I believe that my experience with children will without a doubt aid me in my career as a nurse no matter who I am caring for, simply because of the way these children have taught me to handle real life pressures. Along with the child development classes, I am currently enrolled in a two year IB psychology course where I learn about how the mind works emotionally and why it works the way it does. Taking both these child development and psychology courses has opened my mind to how to care for others, not just physically, but emotionally as well. Helping people emotionally is a crucial aspect to being an exceptional nurse in which I intend on becoming.
I look forward to my future as a nurse where I can utilize this natural passion of helping people physically, emotionally, and socially. I am driven to become an exceptional nurse where I can help save lives everyday. My aspiration to make a difference as a nurse in people's lives, just as they did for my mom, grows more and more everyday.

I look forward to my future as a nurse where I can utilize this natural passion for helping people physically, emotionally, and socially. I am driven to embody Maureen C. Paces’ intense dedication toward her patients and I anticipate the day when I am able to help others with that same amount of passion that seemed to have emanated from her. My aspiration to make a difference as a nurse in people's lives, just as some did for my mom, and just as Maureen C. Pace did for her patients, is growing more and more every day.
