Bio

Hello, my name is Johnathan and my life’s goal is to be the first in my family to graduate with a prestigious college degree. Coming from a low-income, single parent household has instilled the desire to better myself and my future to prove dedication and perseverance can change the trajectory of life’s expectations. My goal is to prove I am just as capable and deserving of what life truly has to offer. In my quest I have worked endlessly to show others the same journey is possible for them as well. Growing up in a family where volunteering and giving back a passion for selfless giving of one’s time, desperately trying to make the world a better place has become a way of life. Already giving over 4,000 hours to my community has me searching for more ways to share my time on this earth. Believing “one person” can make a difference. As a scholarship candidate I offer someone who has learned early in life they had to work harder than everyone else to succeed. With so many obstacles thrown my way I have chosen to never give up, no matter the overwhelming challenges and heartache, my future is too important and the endless perseverance and dedication I have embraced has always gotten me through and will allow me the greatest success. Learning to be resilient and to quickly find new ways has allowed me to continue my journey regardless the path I have taken. My goal is to be secure in my future in order to give back to my family and community trying to be that light in the darkness. Giving hope where there is none.
