After being shot by my ex while in nursing school I’m excited to re enroll and try again. My vision of myself is to be the nurse where I can change a women’s life at their hardest time in their life and be able to relate and tell them “it’s gonna be ok”. By using my experience and my education I believe I will be the nurse that can help change peoples lives and be a loving hand to hold. I see myself being charge nurse and making sure each patient is cared for the way they deserve and they are not just a bed or room number. I will take the time to know my team and patients. I strive to be the best nurse that I can be inside and outside of work because I have a passion for helping others and desire to make it difference and help people at the worst times with their lives. I hope to be a light and many peoples lives and be able to practice And fulfill my own. I see myself as being a very loving and affectionate nurse. It was importantly, approachable for my patients and any other staff that I may work with. I am a peacekeeper and a giver, and I believe that good things happen to good people and sometimes bad things happen to good people and they just make us stronger. Nursing has unlocked a strengthen me that I never thought that I was capable of having and I hope to share my experience and that strength with everyone that I come in contact with. I believe I have a purpose and I survived that day to be able to help others and not just collect a paycheck but to be a genuine person and do God‘s work. I have never quit Trying to get back to school and finishing what I started and for the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m able to achieve anything and finish this degree and be the person that I meant to be and start changing lives one day at a time. Being a nurse is all I’ve ever wanted to be in the nursing school that I did go to help prepare me for that day that I thought I was gonna lose my life and I feel like if I’m able to handle all that remember I’m a perfect fit for a trauma or ER nurse And I’m a natural born leader so will be promoted to charge nurse.

Hello, My name is Julie, I was a nursing student who was In a Domestic Dispute in 2020. I woke up to a knife at my throat and somehow manage to get out from under him and run out the door with my dog. He chased me and hit me 7 times in the car, He than shot me through the window but I didn't stop. I drove and tried to lose him without putting anyone in danger. The police weren't able to help and save me that day so I saved myself.
Ever since then I have struggled but overcame so much, I'm so thankful to be alive and refuse to waste a day. I'm blessed to have kept my life and arm and I want to help others in their time of need.
I'm currently enrolled at Galen College Of Nursing and trying to finish what I started. I was very lucky to be able to run for my life and get out alive, The bullet hit my right arm next to my Heart. But I turned my head so it only went through me. I have come along way but need help finically. I have regained my Movement of my arm with all self Physical therapy and have spent hours healing from the trauma I experienced.
I'm a very determined, hardworking women who believes on doing what right. I was raised to always give and care for those in need. I have spent hundreds of hours at the VA hospital in Tampa along with Hundreds of Community service hours while in Civil Air Patrol where I was Squadron Medic. I'm a great leader as I advance to a Chief and was able to learn and grow along side my cadets. I also demonstrate my leadership while being charge nurse at school and running 4 different tanning salons this past 4 years. Anywhere I go, I give my heart and soul and do the best I can.
Every Obstacle I have encountered I have remained calm and determined.
I hope to use my story and help others as they come into the ER and be a light. I know I'm here for a purpose and I'm excited to Create a life for myself and help others!
I'm hoping to specialize in Trauma/ER because I'm able to remain calm and reassure others everything is ok. While performing my duties. I believe my story equipped me with the ability to understand others fears and pain and I'm able to give them a sense of trust and rest, So that they can fully heal and know they are in great hands and there not just a patient but a friend. I believe I will be a great nurse and help change the stereotype of "just another grumpy nurse". We need more caring hand's on nurses who don't view a patient as another number but as a person fighting to be healthy and alive. All I needed in the ER, was someone to tell me its going to be "ok" and I wasn't alone. I was ignored for over six hours in pain and had to ask the janitor for a drink. Using my experience and treatment I will be able to avoid anyone having to go through unnecessary comfortability. And help them focus on the good and distracting them from any pain or fear. We all need that one person to remind us, we are ok and were gonna make it out, and never give up hope! I'm very excited to see what God Has in store for me!
