Simple Studies Scholarship
While most little girls played with dolls and ponies, I was in my basement teaching my invisible students how to multiply and divide. I have always been a student who loved school, and most importantly loved helping other people understand what we were learning. Whether it was helping someone understand a simple problem or explaining an entire topic, I was up for the challenge to help them.
My whole life, I have known in my heart that I want to be a teacher and study education in college. The desire has burned in me since I first began grading quizzes that I pretended I myself did not complete minutes prior.
Teaching has always stood out to me because of all the teachers that had an impact on me growing up. I still remember the confidence that my second grade teacher taught me how to have, the imagination my kindergarten teacher encouraged me to dream of, and I will always remember the passion my teachers now, in my senior year of high school, have taught me to lead me through life and trust in all my decisions.
There is nothing I want more in this world than to have the kind of impact on kids that my teachers had on me. I want to be the reason a student decides to follow their dreams, the reason someone has the confidence to be who they truly are without any regrets. The urgency in my heart to help students like me in the way my teachers did is my motivation for wanting to study education in college and be a high school teacher.
