      Bold Nature Matters Scholarship
I have loved nature my entire life because it is one of a rare few things that man did not make. It is perfect and as long as we love and respect it it remains preserved and beautiful. I have my own way of appreciating nature. Many people take hikes I'm one of those people I've always loved hiking especially at National Parks and so on. I have always enjoyed watching animals that roam nature and observing their actions. I enjoy doing this because animals unlike people don't let their feelings affect their decisions. They do things simply because they must. If only some of the people of this world should I act like that. Instead of letting their emotions control them, do things with a purpose and not because you would love to do that or because you feel like doing it but because you should. The world would be a much better place if we all could simply learn to act logically and beautifully like nature.

My name is Joseph Yamin, I'm a young man graduating high school this year. I'm from a low-income family who is planning on attending "Harmel Academy of the trades" in Grand Rapids this fall. I've always loved the trades because I have always enjoyed working with my hands and breaking a good sweat. Also when I look at the trades I see them as an opportunity to become a better man. One that can act and work like a man should. I plan on becoming a master electrician. This was my choice for two reasons. The first was simple, I have done electrical work before and I took great joy in it. The second reason simply has to do with the financial support that I can receive from having such a job. When it comes to giving back to my community I've done this my entire life. From volunteering at homeless shelters, to volunteering at my local Parish. After I graduate from school I hope to be able to use my talents that I gained to better my community. For example as an electrician you are irreplaceable and can be used for many things. I personally know that paying for an electrician were any Tradesmen for that matter is a very expensive thing to do. I hope to be able to help families with low income be able to higher an electrician without selling an arm and a leg to do so. Thank you for the opportunity to get this scholarship it would mean the world. I look at what school is going to cost me because the school I plan on going to just recently. And then take into consideration that I don't have access to FASFA or any other form of government funding. so I'm solely relying on outside scholarships and my own funds being from a low-income family with a single mom relying on my own funds is very difficult. Thank you for this opportunity and God bless.
      Uniball's Skilled Trades Scholarship
My name is Joseph Yamin, I'm an 18 year old senior in high school who is planning on attending trade school to become a master electrician. I'm passionate about this trade because I have done a certain amount of electrical work in my life, and even though it was a small amount I still enjoyed it the fullest extent. I've always been passionate about the trades because I love working with my hands and I believe that men that know how to work properly is one of the most rare and valuable things out there today. During covid my dad believe that it would be a good idea for us to finish our basement by ourselves. Throughout this process I learned several different things. Such as drywalling, building walls, and doing Simple wiring for Outlets. This was one of the most enjoyable and beneficial experiences of my life. What made it the most meaningful was that I got to grow closer to my dad in the process. After I graduate from trade school I hope to build up enough Revenue to pay off any debt that I may have from school. And then hopefully I will I have come to the point where I am mature enough and manly enough to start my own family and raise my kids the way my parents raised me. When it comes to where I will work that is a simple answer. One of my close friends works for an electrical company in Michigan called serve Electric. I've had several conversations with him about it and he said that serve would be happy to take me on and work for them. They pay well and as I work my way up I will easily be able to support myself and one day a family. The question on moments of adversity in my life is a simple one for me to answer, but not an enjoyable one. The main reason I have come to appreciate those moments working in the basement with my dad or working in the yard is because about a year ago my dad suffered from a severe and fatal heart attack. On December 2nd 2020 at around 8:45 p.m. my dad had just come out of the hot tub where we have been sitting talking about politics. He went into his room sat there for about 2 to 3 minutes and then fell over dead. We weren't given any opportunities to say goodbye because within a Split Second he was gone. This is been a very large struggle for my mom and my whole family. Especially when it came to our financial situation. Luckily for us we've had plenty of support from friends and family. And over the past several months my family has overcome the Deep sorrow that had been lingering for so long. Personally I worked through this moment of adversity through prayer and support from friends and family. But throughout this horrible ordeal it made something click inside of me and made me realize that I could not be a boy any longer and that I needed to grow up and be the man that my mom and my dad needed me to be. Thank you for the opportunity to get this scholarship and I hope and pray that you will take my application into consideration. Thank you and God bless.
