Bio

I am from a small town in Missouri, a town with a 300 people kind of population. I am looking to widen my horizon. I love chickens and especially rabbits, several rabbits outdoors and a beautiful fuzzy holland lop bunny indoors (his name is Eugene and he is perfect!!!). I am looking to go to the number one school in the mid-west, Drury University. Both of my parents went there. Because this school is prestigious (being a private university) it is expensive. I want to win scholarships so I can go, follow in my parents' footsteps, and grow to become someone who changes the world.

As I embark on my journey toward higher education, I have set my sights on pursuing a double major in early elementary education and business management. This decision stems from my passion for both nurturing young minds and exploring the world of entrepreneurship. I am drawn to the field of early elementary education because of my deep love for children and my desire to make a positive impact on their lives during their formative years. Additionally, my family's background in teaching has instilled in me a strong appreciation for the value of education and the importance of fostering a love for learning from a young age. Simultaneously, I am equally passionate about business management and the principles of entrepreneurship. I envision myself combining my love for working with children with my entrepreneurial spirit to establish and run my own daycare. The idea of creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive excites me immensely. By pursuing a double major in early elementary education and business management, I aim to equip myself with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in both realms. Choosing an entrepreneurial career path is a natural progression for me, as it allows me to merge my passion for education with my entrepreneurial aspirations. Running my own daycare will not only fulfill my desire to make a difference in the lives of children but also provide me with the opportunity to apply my business acumen and creativity in a meaningful way. I am excited by the prospect of building and growing a business from the ground up, with the ultimate goal of creating a positive and enriching environment for young children to thrive in. While many entrepreneurial ventures may face challenges and obstacles along the way, I believe that my unique combination of skills, experiences, and motivations will set me apart and contribute to my success. Firstly, my background in early elementary education will provide me with a deep understanding of child development, educational pedagogy, and best practices in early childhood education. This knowledge will serve as a strong foundation for designing curriculum, implementing educational programs, and creating a nurturing learning environment within my daycare. Additionally, my passion for business management and entrepreneurship will drive me to approach my daycare as a strategic venture, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. I am committed to leveraging my business management skills to effectively manage resources, develop marketing strategies, and cultivate strong relationships with parents and the community. Moreover, my love for working with children and my family's history of success in the field of education give me a unique perspective and a genuine connection to the work I plan to pursue. I am confident that my dedication, determination, and unwavering commitment to excellence will propel me forward in my entrepreneurial endeavors and ultimately lead to the success of my daycare business. In general, a successful life to me is one characterized by fulfillment, purpose, and impact. Success is not solely defined by financial wealth or material possessions but rather by the positive contributions we make to the world and the lives we touch along the way. As I embark on my journey toward entrepreneurship and early childhood education, my goal is to create a fulfilling career that allows me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families while also achieving personal and professional fulfillment.

Working with children who have low-incidence disabilities offers a unique and profoundly rewarding opportunity for educators. Low-incidence disabilities refer to those that are less common within the population, often involving significant cognitive or physical impairments. Engaging with these young individuals is not just a job; it is a calling that demands a deep reservoir of patience, empathy, and specialized knowledge. The privilege of shaping these young minds and supporting their development is a responsibility that I wholeheartedly embrace, driven by a fundamental love for children and an unwavering belief in their potential to overcome obstacles and flourish. Children, by their very nature, bring a sense of wonder and innocence into our lives. Those with low-incidence disabilities, in particular, embody a unique innocence that is both precious and enlightening. They see the world through a lens unclouded by the biases and prejudices that often afflict adults, providing a refreshing perspective on life's simplest joys. This innate purity, coupled with their resilience in the face of challenges, renders teaching them not just a pleasure but a truly enriching experience. Central to my philosophy is the conviction that every child is a blessing. This belief is not rooted in naivety but in a deep-seated understanding of the transformative power of education. Children with low-incidence disabilities, like all children, are endowed with untapped potential waiting to be nurtured. They possess talents, dreams, and the capacity for happiness that can only be fully realized through the dedicated efforts of those willing to invest in their growth. It is here that my primary strength lies: the capacity to nurture. Nurturing, in this context, transcends mere academic instruction. It involves creating a supportive and inclusive environment where each child feels valued, understood, and empowered to achieve their fullest potential. The task of educating children with low-incidence disabilities is multifaceted. It requires not only a mastery of specialized teaching strategies but also an unwavering commitment to advocating for their needs. This advocacy extends beyond the classroom walls, encompassing a broader societal engagement aimed at fostering inclusivity and understanding. As an educator, my goal is to equip these children with the skills and confidence necessary to navigate the world, while simultaneously working to dismantle the barriers that limit their full participation in society. In conclusion, teaching children with low-incidence disabilities is a profoundly rewarding endeavor, one that I approach with a sense of privilege and purpose. My deep love for children, coupled with a commitment to nurturing their development, forms the bedrock of my educational philosophy. Recognizing the unique innocence and potential within each child, I am dedicated to creating a learning environment where they can grow, thrive, and ultimately lead lives of meaning and fulfillment. In doing so, I not only contribute to their individual journeys but also to the building of a more inclusive and compassionate society.
    Let Your Light Shine Scholarship
My name is Jordan Daniels, I am seventeen years old. I live in rural Missouri, a town with a population of around three hundred. I will graduate this year (2024) with a class of ten, that is if they all have the right qualifications to graduate high school. In my school, the amount of cows you have determines how cool you are. It's full of fakers, but I think that can be said about many places around the world. No single place is perfect. Besides, I love my school. I believe it is the best place on earth. Unlike many people at my school, I've traveled to Europe. No, it isn't because I am rich. In fact, both of my parents are teachers at my rural school, meaning we are the definition of poor. We saved and saved and honestly we still couldn't afford the trip but somehow my fantastic parents made it happen, just for my siblings and I. Going to Europe changed my life, widened my view of the world and changed my future. Leaving the best place on Earth helped me realize it really is the best place on Earth. I want to graduate and go to college at Drury University, the number one school in the mid-west, so that I can get the best education. Eventually, I want to get the furthest degree in psychology, a doctorate, and open my own clinic as a therapist. I want to open clinics in places that are close to rural areas in the mid-west. I want to make them affordable for students and community members to get mental health care when they need it. The inability to pay for mental health care has effected the populations in small towns and been a cause of suicide, drug and alcohol addiction, and several other detrimental effects in rural societies. Going to college is going to be expensive. Drury is a great school, which automatically means it is expensive. This scholarship would contribute to paying for tuition, which I need plenty of help with. I want to go to college for a long time to get my doctorate, which is another reason why I am in need of money. I want to open clinics in areas that lack mental health care, but there's a reason there aren't clinics in rural areas. I won't make a lot from doing this kind of work. Eventually, the money spent on me going to college will be donated back to impoverished communities. I am dedicated. I know my goals and how to execute them. God willing, my plans will become a reality. I want to help people who are like my peers, family, and myself. Poor people around the state of Missouri and in several other places around America are hurting mentally. The way to help them is to reach them. I will grow quickly and start a great change. I want to create change. By awarding me this scholarship, you will help me make the future a better place.

As I embark on my journey to become an educator, I am guided by their examples and inspired by their unwavering commitment to excellence. With their support and guidance, I am confident that I can make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of my future students, just as they have done for me.

The profound impact of influential individuals in our lives cannot be overstated, as they have the remarkable ability to shape our identities and aspirations. For me, the two most influential figures who have left an indelible mark on my journey are my grandmother and my art teacher. Their unwavering guidance, encouragement, and belief in my potential have not only shaped my passion for art but have also inspired my career aspirations and personal growth in profound ways. My grandmother's love for art was palpable and infectious. From a young age, I was drawn to her creative energy as she meticulously worked on her art projects. She encouraged me to explore my own artistic abilities, setting up tables adorned with an array of pencils and markers, eagerly awaiting my creations. Her walls proudly displayed my fledgling artworks, fostering my confidence and igniting a lifelong passion for artistic expression. Remarkably, my grandmother's artistic journey mirrored my own in an unexpected way. Learning that she had been taught by the same art teacher I have the privilege of learning from today, Mrs. Dreier, added a profound layer of connection and continuity to our shared passion for art. Mrs. Dreier's influence on my development as an artist cannot be overstated. Beyond imparting technical skills and knowledge, she has fostered virtues of patience, resilience, and vulnerability in my artistic practice. Her gentle guidance and unwavering support have empowered me to push beyond my comfort zone, experiment with new techniques, and embrace the creative process with openness and authenticity. As I reflect on the impact of these remarkable women on my life, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and admiration. Their belief in my potential has fueled my ambition and shaped my aspirations for the future. Inspired by their example, I have found my calling in life: to become an art teacher. I am driven by the desire to pay forward the transformative experiences I have had under their mentorship, aspiring to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where students feel empowered to explore their creativity and express themselves authentically. My vision for the future extends beyond the confines of the classroom. I aspire to cultivate a community of artists who are not only technically proficient but also compassionate, resilient, and socially conscious individuals. Through art education, I hope to instill in my students a deep appreciation for the power of creativity to effect positive change in the world around them. Just as my grandmother and Mrs. Dreier have left an enduring legacy in my life, I am committed to inspiring and empowering future generations of artists to embrace their unique talents and make meaningful contributions to society through their art.
Frederick J. Salone Memorial Basketball Scholarship
everyone feels it at the velocity that I do. So, acknowledging other people and helping them feel the fire for the sport instead of criticizing them actually makes them feel more of the passion. ChatGPT In the realm of basketball, I can't boast about scoring 1,000 points or consistently dominating the court. Scholarship offers didn't come pouring in because of my skills on the hardwood, and my time on the court was often plagued by fouls rather than finesse. I wasn't the fastest, strongest, or the wittiest player out there. But despite these apparent shortcomings, basketball became my greatest teacher. Basketball taught me invaluable lessons that extend far beyond the confines of the court. While I may not have stood out as the star player, I excelled in the realm of personal growth. Every game, every practice, presented an opportunity for learning. I discovered the art of forming and maintaining friendships, earned respect from both my coach and peers, and honed the ability to continuously strive for improvement, no matter how incremental. As the team's point guard, I bore the brunt of intense defensive pressure. This constant scrutiny not only sharpened my ball-handling skills but also instilled in me a sense of patience and reliance on my teammates. Trapped by opposing defenders, with the clock ticking and the pressure mounting, I learned to trust in the collective strength of our team, understanding that success often hinges on collaboration rather than individual prowess. Scoring wasn't my forte, but passing the ball became my trademark. I embraced the role of facilitator, recognizing that success on the court isn't solely determined by one's ability to put points on the scoreboard. Instead, it's about orchestrating plays, elevating the performance of those around you, and celebrating collective achievements. Beyond the technical aspects of the game, basketball taught me the value of balancing passion with kindness. It's easy to get caught up in the heat of competition, to become singularly focused on one's own success. Yet, true greatness lies in the ability to empathize with others, to acknowledge differing perspectives, and to foster a sense of camaraderie within the team. In basketball, as in life, being open-minded and compassionate opens doors to meaningful connections and shared experiences. While my passion for the sport burned brightly, I recognized that not everyone shared the same fervor. Instead of imposing my views, I embraced the role of a mentor, igniting the flame of passion in others through encouragement and support. In essence, basketball taught me that true success isn't measured solely by statistics or accolades, but by the depth of one's character and the impact they have on those around them. The lessons I gleaned from the hardwood - resilience, teamwork, empathy - will continue to shape my journey long after my playing days are over.
    Anderson Women's Rugby Scholarship
Rugby, for me, encapsulates the essence of college - it embodies my future, growth, athleticism, and prospective endeavors all within one sport. It's more than just a game; it's a catalyst for change in my life. Rugby has become synonymous with my aspirations, and it's leading me to the school of my dreams, altering the course of my life in profound ways. Prior to my senior year, rugby was nowhere on my radar. Yet, an unexpected letter from a coach at my dream school changed everything. The mere mention of rugby in the letter sparked curiosity within me. Despite never having played or even watched a game before, I felt compelled to explore this opportunity. Little did I know that this decision would shape my future in ways I couldn't have imagined. Embarking on a tour at Drury University, I encountered the rugby team and its coach, and the experience was nothing short of exhilarating. The camaraderie among the players, coupled with the coach's passion for the sport, left an indelible impression on me. It was during that first practice that I began to feel a sense of belonging, as if I had found my rugby family. Since that pivotal moment, I've remained in close contact with the athletes and coach at Drury. Signing with the team and committing to the university felt like the culmination of a journey that was just beginning. The prospect of attending my dream school, propelled by my newfound passion for rugby, fills me with excitement and gratitude. My rugby family at Drury University is a source of unwavering support and camaraderie. The coach's dedication and passion for the sport are palpable, while the players exude kindness and camaraderie. I eagerly anticipate joining them on the field next year as a freshman, eager to immerse myself in the collegiate rugby experience. However, the reality of attending a private college like Drury comes with a hefty price tag. While I've been fortunate to receive a scholarship for rugby, it's not sufficient to cover the full cost of tuition. Winning this scholarship would alleviate the financial burden and allow me to pursue my passion for rugby and education without the worry of financial constraints. In essence, rugby has become more than just a sport for me; it's a pathway to my future. It's through rugby that I've found my community, my passion, and my dreams. Winning this scholarship would not only enable me to continue playing the sport I love but also fulfill my aspirations of attending Drury University, where my rugby family awaits.

Reflecting on potential essay topics, numerous individuals who have left a mark on my life flood my thoughts. I've been fortunate to encounter many remarkable and intelligent individuals throughout my journey. Both of my parents, with their college backgrounds, have provided me with valuable guidance. Additionally, the multitude of influential teachers who have encouraged me to pursue higher education has significantly impacted my aspirations. Even those in my life who haven't pursued college themselves have expressed regret, further motivating me to continue my educational journey. The list of potential subjects for my essay seems endless. However, amidst this plethora of influential figures, one person stands out - a sweet woman by the name of Mrs. Janet. Despite knowing little about her personal life, her impact on my life remains profound. Mrs. Janet was a fixture at a local church, where she dedicated her time to an after-school program known as "Team Kids." Her presence was characterized by a gentle voice, medium-length brown hair interspersed with strands of gray, and a countenance marked by wrinkles formed from countless smiles and winks. During my childhood, I was often described as rambunctious, with adults frequently expressing exhaustion in my presence. Unaware of the effect my energy had on those around me, I interpreted their reactions as seeing potential within me. Meanwhile, my friends found my liveliness exciting, either recognizing potential within me or seeking my attention. In a pivotal moment, Mrs. Janet took notice of me and uttered words that would shape my future. "You are a talented girl," she remarked, "You could be a lawyer or an actress. What do you want to be?" In response, I expressed my desire to become a teacher. Her face lit up with a wide smile, wrinkles accentuating her expression, as she affirmed, "Jordan, that is a fantastic career choice for you. When you achieve it, give me a call." That conversation marked a turning point in my life. At the tender age of eight, I found clarity in my career aspirations, fueled by Mrs. Janet's encouragement and belief in my potential. Now, a decade later, my ambition to become a teacher remains unwavering. If for nothing else, I am driven by the desire to fulfill the vision Mrs. Janet had for me. She ignited a passion within me that continues to guide my path forward. In essence, Mrs. Janet may have been a fleeting presence in my life, but her impact endures. Her words of encouragement planted a seed of aspiration within me, setting me on a trajectory towards fulfilling my dreams. As I embark on my journey to become a teacher, I carry with me the profound influence of Mrs. Janet, a testament to the power of kind words and belief in the potential of others.
    “The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
From 2005 to 2013, the popular American comedy "The Office" captivated viewers throughout the globe with its humorous and perceptive portrayal of office interactions. The show's broad group of characters, each of whom brings a distinct viewpoint to the table, is one of its main assets. I identify most with the character of Jim Halpert, played by actor John Krasinski, as a fan of the show. Jim's easygoing personality, sharp mind, and capacity for humor in the face of office follies have always resonated with me. Since he acts as the audience's eyes and ears in the workplace, Jim Halpert appeals to a wide range of viewers. He frequently breaches the fourth wall by looking directly into the camera, giving us a glimpse of his unguarded responses to the mayhem going on all around him. Jim is a fan favorite because of his charisma and likeability, which allow him to seamlessly combine work and pleasure while upholding his integrity and sense of authenticity. His infamous practical jokes on colleague Dwight Schrute demonstrate his good humor and willingness to make light of even the most dire circumstances. I personally agree with Jim's strategy for resolving conflicts and workplace politics. With humor and grace, Jim has a way of calming things down without getting sucked into the drama or taking things too seriously. His go-to tools are wit and sarcasm, which he frequently employs to make a difficult situation humorous. Jim's ability to find comedy in the mundane obstacles of working in an office has motivated me to approach my own professional aspirations with a similar perspective. Moreover, a major plot point in the show that appeals to a lot of fans is Jim's connection with Jenna Fischer's character, Pam Beesly. In the middle of a hectic workplace, their slow-burning passion and ultimate marriage symbolize a meaningful journey of love and friendship. In the middle of the office upheaval, Jim and Pam's closeness acts as a ray of optimism and stability, showing us that real connections and relationships are worthwhile. As a fan of "The Office," I value its skill in striking a delicate balance between heart and comedy while providing a complex depiction of the human condition inside the humdrum limits of an office setting. The show's legacy is still strong today, with innumerable memes, quips, and fan tributes honoring its timeless wit and charm. "The Office" has had a profound impact on popular culture, influencing how we see the workplace and our interactions with coworkers with its ageless comedy and sympathetic characters. To sum up, "The Office" has greatly influenced my sense of humor and outlook on workplace interactions; Jim Halpert is the character I relate to the most. He is an inspiration for handling the ups and downs of professional life with grace and humor because of his ability to find comedy in the everyday craziness of office life, as well as his sincerity and authenticity. Rewatching the show and quoting my favorite scenes makes me realize how timeless "The Office" is and the lessons it teaches about friendship, love, and the delight of discovering humor in the most unlikely places.

The idea of a crossover between two beloved series on Disney Channel is enough to pique viewers' interest and create a sense of wonder. In my mind, there is a dream crossover episode that blends the wacky realm of "Wizards of Waverly Place" with the oddball and enigmatic town of "Gravity Falls." "Wizards Meet Gravity: A Magical Mystery in Gravity Falls," a crossover that blurs the boundaries between magic and mystery, bringing the Russo brothers and the Pines twins together for an incredible adventure. As Alex Russo cleans up the family's sub business, he finds an old mystical relic that sets the narrative in motion. She has no idea that this relic has a special ability that allows her to pass via a portal to the strange town of Gravity Falls and the wizarding realm. Concurrently, Dipper and Mabel Pines, who are constantly alert for odd happenings, learn about magical disruptions occurring in their community. As fate would have it, the brothers' paths cross at the center of Gravity Falls as the portal made possible by the magical item opens. The Russo brothers, Alex, Justin, and Max, emerge via the vortex at the beginning of the episode, utterly perplexed by Gravity Falls' peculiarities. The villagers greet the wizards with a mixture of curiosity and indifference as they are used to the strange. Still, the Russos' enchanted aura draws the Pines twins, Dipper and Mabel, to them right away. The collision of magic and mystery that results from the two sets of siblings meeting creates a compelling dynamic. Justin, the knowledgeable and responsible magician, instantly bonds with Dipper, the inquisitive and voracious mystery lover. Mabel, the fanciful and lively girl with a taste for unusual dress, strikes up a conversation with Alex, the rebellious and clever magician. When the magical relic disappears, the story becomes more complex as there is a race against time to find it before the fragile balance between the two realms is upset. The Russo siblings and the Pines twins set off on a journey together that will lead them through cryptic tunnels, fascinating woodlands, and even to the center of the town's paranormal activities. When magic and mystery work together, hilarious blunders and touching moments result as the characters overcome the obstacles in their crossover journey. The party learns the value of cooperation and acceptance despite differences when spells go wrong and the strange animals in the town add to the mayhem. The magical item is recovered at the episode's conclusion thanks to the joint efforts of the Pines twins and the Russo brothers. But the event has a lasting effect on the two groups of individuals, encouraging respect and newly formed friendships. The Russo siblings wave farewell to Gravity Falls as the vortex shuts, leaving behind a community that has been irrevocably altered by the magical encounter. In turn, the twins Pines learn more about the incredible opportunities that lie outside the borders of their enigmatic village. The characters in "Wizards Meet Gravity: A Magical Mystery in Gravity Falls" return to their separate worlds with a wealth of memories and the realization that, occasionally, the most amazing adventures occur when magic and mystery collide. The book ends with a feeling of warmth and camaraderie. The eternal appeal of Disney Channel programming and the boundless inventiveness that arises when cherished characters gather together for an incredible adventure are both demonstrated by this dream crossover episode.
    Angelia Zeigler Gibbs Book Scholarship
I'm at the start of a new chapter in my life, one that is full of promise, uncertainty, and endless possibilities, as my senior year draws to an end. In my opinion, this crucial chapter may be titled "Catalyst of Transformation: A Journey Beyond the Horizon." This title perfectly captures the essence of the significant transformations and personal development I anticipate going through as I venture into the unknown. The concept of a material that causes change without changing itself is embodied in the term "catalyst". Upon leaving high school and entering the next stage of my life, I realize that the experiences, connections, and lessons I have gained so far have served as triggers. These factors have propelled me toward the person I am becoming and the person I want to be, fueling my personal progress. My last year acted as a furnace for refining, amplifying the forces that have molded my principles, goals, and worldview. "Transformation" refers to the deep metamorphosis that takes place at turning points in life. As I emerge from the comfortable cocoon of high school, I'm ready for a life-changing experience that goes beyond the classroom. This chapter illustrates both the acquisition of information and its practical application in real-world situations. It represents the transition from academic learning to the real-world application of skills and the improvement of my capacity to take on the difficulties that lie ahead. "A Journey Beyond the Horizon" captures the spirit of adventure, discovery, and going for the uncharted. I am fully aware that the horizon represents both the boundaries of my present knowledge and the boundless opportunities that lay ahead as I say adieu to the comforts of routine and set out on this voyage. This chapter is not only about goal-setting; it's also about stepping outside of my comfort zone, accepting the unknown, and exploring uncharted ground in terms of my professional and personal development. "Catalyst of Transformation: A Journey Beyond the Horizon" captures the spirit of my upcoming departure from high school and entry into the next stage of my existence. It is an acknowledgment of the transforming journey that lies ahead of me, the unexplored lands that beckon beyond the horizon, and the catalytic forces that have molded me. I'm excited to see how a story that promises development, learning, and ongoing self-evolution will play out as I close the book on my senior year.
    Nintendo Super Fan Scholarship
A lot of us have happy recollections of bonding and making lifelong memories when playing Nintendo games with friends or family. One game stands out as a perennial favorite in the wide world of multiplayer adventures: "Super Mario Kart." It's my favorite cooperative Nintendo game because of the thrilling racing and the fun competition it offered. Since its 1992 release, "Super Mario Kart" has been a mainstay in the Nintendo game collection. Players of all ages have been captivated by its enduring characters, captivating soundtrack, and exclusive power-ups for decades. But its cooperative mode, which lets friends and family fight against one another in frantic races full of humor and companionship, is what really sets it apart. "Super Mario Kart" is charming since it's easy to understand and play. Anyone may pick up a controller and enter the race, regardless of their level of gaming experience. Because of the game's simple controls, players of all ages may easily enjoy it. Playing it with friends and family brought many hours of fun, and its inclusion is a major contributing component. During a late-night gaming session with my cousins, "Super Mario Kart" became my favorite cooperative game. This was one particularly memorable experience. As we chose Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Princess Peach as our favorite characters, excitement was in the air. The race was on as the screen divided into four sections. Chaos broke out as we made our way across the game's most known and difficult course, Rainbow Road. Banana peels were positioned carefully, colorful shells were flying, and the classic Mario Kart soundtrack created an exciting atmosphere for competitiveness. As we attempted to outwit one another by using power-ups and cunning moves, laughter reverberated throughout the space. With the victory in the balance going into the last lap, a combination of talent and chance decided the winner. My cousin's character of choice, Luigi, had me in second place. When we got closer to the finish line, the tension in the room was tangible. Then, suddenly, Luigi was struck by a precisely timed lightning bolt that reduced his stature drastically. I took advantage of that instantaneous moment and shot past him to win. We reenacted the scene on the screen, and the gathering burst into applause and laughing. The happiness of that surprising development turned into a treasured memory, imprinting "Super Mario Kart" on our common memories. It was more than simply a game; it was a way to connect with others and a never-ending source of enjoyment. "Super Mario Kart" perfectly captures the spirit of cooperative gaming: it's easy to learn, approachable, and incredibly fun. Its ageless appeal has endured throughout generations, bridging the gap between nostalgia for the past and enjoyment of the present. The game's potential to forge enduring bonds and joyous experiences that endure are demonstrated by the unforgettable Rainbow Road triumph.
    Zendaya Superfan Scholarship
It is quite remarkable how well Zendaya navigates her varied positions in fashion, acting, singing, and advocacy throughout her complex career. There are many facets of her brilliance that are displayed in each part of her profession, so it's difficult to choose just one to be most admirable. If I had to pick, though, I would say that Zendaya's contribution to activism is very noteworthy. Zendaya has addressed and promoted significant social problems using her platform. Her dedication to advocacy demonstrates a profound awareness of the responsibility that comes with celebrity, particularly in the areas of equality, representation, and justice. She uses her voice to advocate for change and uses her influence to draw attention to issues that require advocacy. Her contributions to the discussion of diversity and representation in the entertainment business are impressive. Inspiring discussions on the value of representation on and off screen, Zendaya often challenges industry standards and pushes for a more fair and inclusive atmosphere. Her readiness to voice her concerns about inequity shows how committed she is to leaving a lasting impression on the business. Furthermore, it is commendable that Zendaya is involved in programs that support young empowerment and education. She participates actively in discussions regarding the value of education, especially for disadvantaged groups. Zendaya shows her commitment to having a good influence on future generations by utilizing her platform to draw attention to issues related to education. Even though Zendaya has accomplished a lot in acting, fashion, and singing, what I admire most about her is her dedication to utilize her platform for social change and advocacy. Her attempts to question social conventions, raise awareness of significant issues, and promote an inclusive environment demonstrate a sense of empathy and responsibility that goes beyond the glitz of the entertainment business. Celebrities who utilize their voices for a larger good may bring about positive change, as seen by Zendaya's advocacy. Strong personalities have the power to greatly influence public opinion. To sum up, I think Zendaya is an incredible actress, singer, and fashion designer, but what I really respect about her is her dedication to social justice and activism. She makes use of her position to promote representation, equality, and constructive change, demonstrating a profound sense of duty and compassion that transcends the entertainment industry.
    Eras Tour Farewell Fan Scholarship
An exploration of Taylor Swift's discography, the Eras Tour, has had a profound impact on myself and many fans. Swift's genuine music serves as a mirror reflecting the complexity of human nature. Swift's journey of self-discovery, which takes the audience through her many stages, offers insights about emotion, growth, and perseverance. Swift's early years, with their storytelling mixed with country music, are particularly memorable in the Eras Tour. Songs like "Teardrops on My Guitar" and "Tim McGraw" take us back to our early years of love and innocence. I felt myself re-connecting with the feelings of youth and the innocence of those first romantic encounters as I listened to these early recordings again. It turned into a voyage of reflection, leading me to realize how important those early years were and how they influenced the way I saw relationships and love. As we approach the Fearless period, Swift's storytelling abilities become more prominent. One particularly notable example is the re-recorded version of "Love Story" from this period. It examines the ageless issue of forbidden love, a classic theme. During the Eras Tour, I listened to this revised version and developed a fresh respect for the story's tenacity. It turned into a source of motivation for me, a reminder that love can persevere through hardship and overcome all obstacles. Swift's lyrics changed into a more confident and aggressive manner as the Eras Tour moved into the Speak Now phase. "Speak Now," the album's title tune, strikes a chord as a hymn of bravery and individuality. It got me thinking about times in my life when I was afraid to speak up or take advantage of a chance. Swift's daring attitude in this day and age inspired me to speak out and take charge when necessary, which helped me to appreciate authenticity even more. Swift's music underwent a dramatic change during the Red period, embracing mainstream influences while keeping her distinctive narrative style. During the Eras Tour, the emotional intricacy of "All Too Well" became a crucial point. I could relate to the extended version's honest vulnerability and intricate narrative. It was a helpful reminder that recognizing and addressing strong feelings is a necessary component of developing oneself. I gained the bravery and resiliency to face my own "All Too Well" times because to Swift's artistic talent. Pop music took a radical turn in the 1989 era, and "Shake It Off" went on to become a universal hymn of liberation. I came to understand the value of letting go of negativity and adopting a carefree mood as I was dancing to the catchy beat during the Eras Tour. Swift's unreserved support of individualism struck a chord with me, inspiring me to embrace my peculiarities. The reputation age subverted social norms with its more edgy and outspoken persona. "Look What You Made Me Do" was a potent proclamation of taking control of one's own story. I felt empowered by this song because I stopped letting other people's opinions determine who I am. I was encouraged to accept change and remake myself on my own terms by Swift's transformation during this time. Closure and healing were offered by the Lover era, which was marked by a return to a more romantic and upbeat tone. "Lover" came to represent unwavering acceptance and love. It made me realize how crucial it is to value who I am and to embrace every aspect of who I am. Finally, the Eras Tour, which explores love, resiliency, honesty, and personal evolution in a condensed musical journey, acts as a catalyst for significant self-discovery via Swift's many creative phases.
    1989 (Taylor's Version) Fan Scholarship
2023 has been an emotional roller-coaster, and if my life had a soundtrack, there would definitely be a few songs from Taylor Swift's remastered album "1989 (Taylor's Version)" on it. The classic songs on this album have a wonderful way of capturing the range of feelings and situations that people encounter. One song that I would include on my soundtrack for 2024 is "Shake It Off." This positive song is the ideal illustration of the perseverance required to overcome obstacles. No matter what obstacles life presents, the upbeat beat and appealing chorus serve as a gentle reminder to maintain a cheerful outlook and push off pessimism. "Shake It Off" becomes a personal motto in an uncertain environment, promoting a carefree attitude and the resolve to go forward grinning. Somberly, "Blank Space" might also make a suitable inclusion. This song explores the nuances of love and relationships, realizing that plans don't always work out. "Blank Space" reminds me that it's important to welcome the unexpected and that it's acceptable for plans to alter within the framework of my year. Transforming a blank area into a story of personal development and revelation strikes a chord as a potent topic for negotiating life's unexpected turns. I think "Wildest Dreams" is another song that sums up my trip for 2023. The song's dreamy, nostalgic mood inspires contemplation of cherished moments and goals. "Wildest Dreams" provides the soundtrack to those silent times of reflection when one imagines a world full of possibilities as the year goes on. It emphasizes how crucial it is to cling to one's goals and strive toward making them come true. "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" also has a spot on the soundtrack because of its depth of emotion. This expanded edition provides a deeper examination of grief and bereavement. Its inclusion serves as a metaphor for the yearly obstacles and disappointments that are unavoidable. "All Too Well" turns into a cathartic release that facilitates acknowledging and dealing with feelings. It serves as a moving reminder that healing is a gradual but essential process and that it's acceptable to feel intensely. To sum up, the soundtrack for my 2023 would be a rich tapestry of events and feelings, derived from Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)." "Blank Space" acknowledges life's uncertainty, "Wildest Dreams" inspires great dreams, "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" acknowledges the emotional complexity of the trip, and "Shake It Off" gives you the energy and strength you need to tackle problems. When these songs are combined, they create a story that reflects the highs and lows, as well as the hopes and disappointments, of a year full of learning, development, and self-discovery.
Overcoming Adversity - Jack Terry Memorial Scholarship
History will forever be an important part of my life. My father is a history teacher at the high school I go to, a rural school with 50 students in total at the entire high school. He was the person who taught me about the Holocaust. My father, being a fantastic teacher, really pressed the importance of how terrible the Holocaust truly was. Knowing that Jack Terry not only lost family in concentration camps but survived it? I am horrified for him and honored to read about him. Living through something like Nazi Germany is incomparable. I know nothing of what it is like to be beaten, worked to death, and starved. However, I do understand what it is like to not have a home to come back to. Last April, my home suffered a house fire. I have three siblings, one being eighteen months old at the time. Thankfully no one was hurt, but for two months my family of six was homeless. When we had money, we stayed at hotels an hour away from my hometown. When we did not, we stayed with my grandmother in her two bedroom one bathroom trailer. I slept on a recliner. My brother slept on the floor. My sister slept on a mattress in the back room with my parents and my other baby sister. I felt alone and suffered mentally. This was during track season, and I was not able to perform at my regular speed physically. I was not in school, I was not eating three meals a day, and I was not sleeping at night. We still have not fully recovered from the fire. Falling in love during high school, my parents had me, their first child, right away. I watched them stressfully go through college. They quickly had two other of my siblings, my sister then brother. When they graduated college, things were a little better. My father got a job and made more money. We went from eating ramen and hotdogs daily to having hamburgers and the occasional McDonalds. To some, that is nothing, but for me and my siblings it was everything. Now, my parents are both teachers at a small school in Missouri. They get paid the minimum that teachers can be paid. We are better off than we used to be, but we are not well off in any way. I will not get any financial aid from my parents for college. Through these hardships, I have learned that you should save money and be financially stable. Living well momentarily and living well consistently is a choice you have to make early in life. You can prepare for some things, and I have learned to be a resourceful problem solver. I also learned that having a good community changes everything. I am grateful for my hardships and the lessons they taught me. If I win this scholarship, I will go to college and enter into a psychology program. I will own my own business and open clinics in rural areas where I know people struggle with mental health. People like myself when my house fire happened. I wish I would have had someone to talk to during that time. I think that a therapist could help Jack Terry with his trauma if he was open to that idea. Thank you for this opportunity.

    Book Lovers Scholarship
My favorite books are still the first "chapter books" I ever read, the "Percy Jackson" series along with the following series "The Heroes of Olympus." Recently I have been interested in the trending books by Colleen Hoover, so I read some of her writings. I have found a strong distaste for novels by her. Currently, I am reading "The Selection" series by Kiera Cass. I love reading and I could talk about all sorts of books. I must admit that I have read many books that would be adequate for educated adults to read with very deep meaning such as "To Kill A Mockingbird," "Romeo and Juliet," and "Lord of the Flies." More recent novels like "The Silent Patient" and "Ida B" also have deep meaning. There are also religious books that could be read, but forcing someone to read about religion probably is not the best way to convert them. When choosing the book I would pick for every single person in the world, I had to consider a few variables. There's plenty of children on the planet right now, so I want to pick a book that they can understand. In the same way, some people aren't great readers or can't understand big symbolism. Some people don't like fiction and some don't like nonfiction. It has to be interesting while still being simple to understand with a deeper purpose. What a challenge! Finally, after much consideration, I must say that "How Full is Your Bucket" by Tom Rath (Author), Mary Reckmeyer (Author), Maurie J. Manning (Illustrator) is the book I would have everyone in the world read. It is a children's story about kindness and building others up. It has a moral illustrating complimenting someone as filling their bucket and criticizing them as dumping their bucket. It illustrates just how easy it is to affect someone's mood. It teaches a lesson about kindness. It is not completely full of fiction, but imagination. It has a deep meaning without it being too hard to understand for children. I want everyone to read this, whether or not they take anything away from it.

The dream that has been passed down from my grandfather to my father to myself is the dream of being a track-star. With my father as my coach, I ran a mile for the first time. Excitedly, I stood at the line, heard my coach yell “Go!” and went. Four laps to go on a four-hundred meter outdoor track. At first, my energy was taking over, adrenaline dripping with my sweat. Second came around, and my torso felt heavy, weighing me down. Somehow, the sun seemed to beam down harder on me than the former lap. On the third lap, tears filled my eyes, steps slow and short. On the fourth lap, my legs refused to do as I told them, screaming with sore muscles. When it was finally over, the coach looked at me detached, focusing instead on the jumpers in the center of the field. “What was my time?” I asked. My body tensed, preparing for the answer. I watched as he turned his attention to the watch, and then to me. Almost eight minutes. I fell to the ground, breathing hard, tears filling my eyes. I looked up at my coach and father, remembering the glory stories of his five minute miles. He even broke five and his best was a four forty-seven. I was not as good as he was. My friend, Jazzmenn, came over to me and put her hand on my back. “It was your first time. You’re just a freshman. It will get better,” she said, and I felt the grief shrink. Her comfort was warm in my chest, a hug to my heart. A junior in high school comforting a freshman was a spectacle that made people turn their heads. Everyone had seen me try and fail. I wanted to prove that I was more than that. Jazzmenn grabbed my hand and helped me stand as I wiped at my arms. I would do better next time. A memory flashed before my eyes, my English teacher mentioning Walt Disney’s credo. I failed, but the next day I tried again, even more motivated. There were times my side would ache, pinching me. My legs would burn. My body was stiff. Powering through every time, I advanced. I dared to keep trying. By the end of the year, I would run a six minute twenty-three second mile. I even dared to try the two mile, a race I would go to the state track meet for. Even better than my mile, I would run a thirteen minute and thirteen second long two mile. A good runner should run a fifteen minute mile. I exceeded it. Even though I was not good at the mile the same way my father and grandpa wanted me to be, I was good at my own race in my own way. At my small school, I was patted on the back, put in announcements, and featured in newspapers. The year that Jazzmenn graduated, at the state track meet, she looked me in the eyes with a motherly smile and said “I told you it would get better.” I have never felt as successful as I did at that moment. I learned that dreams can become a reality. I am capable of anything. I am going to Drury University, the number one college in the mid-west, with an athletic scholarship. The career I want to follow will be a hard one to achieve, but track has taught me to persevere and believe in myself. I am so grateful for every door track has opened for me.

During my childhood, I was the first one to go up to the kid sitting alone at lunch. Filled with so much excitement, I would (accidentally) yell "HI! I'M JORDAN I WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND!" I was overwhelmingly outgoing and definitely too loud for any introverted kid. Most of the time, they would smile awkwardly and let me sit with them. I would do this until some more kids started to sit with us at lunch. The group would grow and grow until I would find the next lonely and introverted victim of my volume. Growing up, I guess my opinion on bullying did not change much. Once, I saw a girl vandalizing an anti-bullying hotline poster in the bathroom. The screaming match would not end until a teacher came in and brought me to the principal's office. After a stern talk from the principal about how yelling at a kid about bullying might actually be considered bullying, I realized I needed to take a different approach. This led me in high school to join clubs and organizations. In these organizations, I planned events with the school that would initiate connecting in the student body. Not a single person was left without someone to talk to. I watched as people who used to walk alone in the hallways suddenly were giggling in groups of their friends. People felt comfortable joining clubs and sports. The school even saw great improvement in attendance. With the growing of extracurriculars came the expanding of ideas. Clubs, under my presidency, began to make anti-bullying flyers. They wrote words of encouragement on sticky notes. Bullying has been reported and stopped as soon as it has begun. Now more than ever before, it feels like the students at my school are safe from the horrible tradition of school bullying. My goals have succeeded, I have made the school I love a safe place for everybody. It is not perfect, of course there are cases that slip through the cracks, and I worry the school will not be the same when I graduate. All I can do is leave behind the materials, and hope the next motivator builds with it. When I see bullying, I report it. I will call the bullying hotline if it does not stop. I make and distribute posters. I encourage students to talk to me and the school teachers if they feel unsafe. I motivate students to live and love life to the best of their ability. I know it can never be perfect, but I put my fellow students mental health at the top of my priority list. Psychology has always been a great interest of mine. During high school, I have taken college dual credit classes to further my education. In my entire education, I have never loved learning anything the way I loved learning psychology and sociology. Psychology has genuinely sparked my interest, and immediately I knew I wanted a career around it. In my life, I've been surrounded by mental health issues and people struggling. I watched my friends fall into drug addiction because of anxiety and depression. So many friends have moved away hoping to escape mental health problems and start over. Peers have turned to partying and drinking to "end their pain." Very few have turned to therapy or medications. By being a therapist, I want to show my hometown that counseling can be an answer to mental health issues. I want to make therapy affordable. Most of all I want to save lives. Mental health struggles can be deadly if not treated quickly and carefully.

My room was very messy. It began when I started high school. When I had the time, I picked it up a little, but the time seemed to happen less and less. I would be changing clothes to get ready for school and throwing my pajamas on the floor, hurrying not to be late. Then, on Saturdays, I finally get to rest in my room and eat some food on my bed, leaving the dishes on my bedside table. Sundays I throw open my drawers seeking out a specific shirt that's in the laundry room. Changing clothes for practice leaves more clothes on the floor. I read a study once by PsychCentral that talked about the link between messy rooms and depression. It said that messy rooms leave people, especially women, feelings of overwhelming chaos, leading to lack of motivation and even depression. To my understanding, a messy room is a sign of messy mental health. Looking back, I see now that I was not mentally stable. My grades were good but it took a lot of effort and plenty of time. My relationships suffered because I could not spend time with them. Because of this, I was pulled into a lot of drama. I started to develop anxiety about what would happen next with my friends. Eventually, I pulled away from them into an overwhelming chaos I was completely alone to endure. I played sports and joined clubs, only to have more on my plate with planning events, games, practices, and meetings. I overdid it, but maybe it would look good on a college application. I even made time for community service here and there, hoping to add a couple bonus points to my applications. When I would come home from my busy days, I wouldn't spend time with my family. I would grab a plate of dinner, take it to my room and fall asleep within the hour. I was completely alone and absolutely desperate for a way out of the overwhelming structure of my day. Christmas time was the worst time of year for me. Because I had isolated myself, I lost everyone who cared about me. I didn't receive or give any gifts. I got some from my family, but each gift came with criticism about how I needed to spend more time with them. I was so stuck in my self pity, I refused to even argue or explain myself. No one would understand. I was the ultimate victim that I had forced myself to be. It became apparent something had to change when someone started a rumor that I tried to kill myself. I needed to change so, if nothing else, the rumors would stop. I went into my bedroom that night and managed to clean it. It took hours. The next morning I did my makeup, hair, and made a cute outfit. Effort. I was tired, but maybe looking cute would be worth it. At school, I made an effort to talk to my friends and joke around. It was not natural and I definitely said some strange things, but eventually people started talking back. This was it. After a few days of this, I realized I have such a positive personality. I am more than a messy room. I started journaling, which helped me so much to realize my potential. I started taking more showers, taking time to do my makeup. I made schedules to organize everything. I learned time management. I allow myself to rest. Somehow, I changed my mindset and my future. I am nothing near a victim.

Success is much more than a word. In fact, it's even more than an action. Success is a mindset, a state of mind. It is defined by how fulfilled you are in what you are doing. Once you are finally at peace, content in yourself, you are successful. You are only truly successful when every aspect of your life has been completed, in a sense. For some people success is finishing a life-long goal. For many success comes from relationships, religion, and many other related things of that sort. I find success, a feeling of fulfillment, in almost everything I do every day. I do things purposefully, always seeking out peace of mind. Success comes with life, they are partners. Having a success-centered mindset has changed my life. I see mistakes as stepping stones to success. My freshmen year, I didn't make it to Track and Field state. At first, I was disappointed and mad. One of my friends tried to comfort me, saying "Don't mistakes make you greater? You've learned your lesson. Move on." They will never understand what that meant to me, it caused the greatest epiphany. I became more grateful. My mood, goals, life, and even my motivation have all become positive. I am a better person with a success-centered mindset. My goals are important, but what I think is even more important is the journey that goes with it. The mistakes have all led to what makes an accomplishment so great and brings you fulfilling peace.
