I'm a bubble tea and neuroscience enthusiast with a passion for spreading knowledge and kindness! When I'm not absorbed in a book or listening to a vinyl record, I love taking my pups on hikes, working on neuroscience research for the genetic expression of Parkinson's Disease and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, building foreign language fluency (Spanish and Mandarin), and penning my musings as a published author.
One of my most notable international impacts has been as Director of the Modern Youth Education, Leadership, and Inquiry in Neuroscience (MYELIN) Initiative's free neuroscience curriculum at the International Youth Neuroscience Association—an organization with over 6,000 members across 110 countries. Moreover, my neuroscience workshops for Simply Neuroscience geared towards underprivileged youth have been used across the United States, Japan, Brazil, Turkey, and India.
I am pursuing a double major in neurobiology and psychology with a Spanish minor in the honors program before attending med. school to become a neurosurgeon. As someone who has had multiple surgeries myself, I am dedicated to using my leadership and passion to serve and heal others.
In the classroom and in my community, I am committed to enacting positive change through scientific research, increasing STEM equity with accessible educational resources, and advocating for human and environmental wellness.
Despite the financial setbacks of my medical bills, I am a perseverant individual ardent about pursuing my post-secondary education. With scholarships as support, my plans can come to fruition!
