Hello! I'm Jevonna, a wife and mother, in my early thirties. My passion for the Midwifery Model of Care started when I was pregnant with my third, and last, baby. Being uninsured and terrified, wondering how I was going to afford the safe labor and delivery of my baby, sent me on a journey that brings me to today. Looking through my options, I discovered the opportunity of hiring a Home Birth Midwife. I also learned of the tragedies resulting from rural hospitals closing down their OB departments and access to pregnancy-related care for families in those rural areas. The genuine compassion and tenderness that was extended to me throughout the healthcare for my pregnancy and postpartum, via my Home Birth Midwife, far surpassed my expectations. This compassion and tenderness have ignited a fierce passion within me to bring midwifery care to the rural families of my state. I look forward to the great honor of walking beside women as my Midwife had walked beside me!
