I am goal-driven, hard working, independent, and confident in everything that I do. I dream of creating my own physical therapy practice specializing in the rehabilitation of athletes, and I am working my hardest to make that happen. I am not easily distracted and I believe that as long as I put my mind to it, I can make anything happen.
Although I am a full-time student, I work an almost full-time job to try and make ends meet because I have very little help from my parents when it comes to supporting myself in college. I hope Bold.org provides me with the tools and resources necessary to make my financial load a little lighter so that I can pursue my dreams of working in the sports medical field.

As the teen President of my Catholic youth group, I have been able to form my idea and thoughts on the human life. Throughout my adolescent years, I have learned that every life has been formed in the image and likeness of God and every human has dignity from the moment of conception until natural death. I attended a summer camp this past summer that solidified my beliefs on a person’s identity and how important they are to the world.
One of my hiking guides had asked my small group and I, “What does it mean to be created in His image and likeness?” My friends and I had staggered responses, but they all fell in line with, “well God just created us the way he wanted to, right?” My guide quickly went on to say, “True, but I firmly believe that it means that each person reflects one small part of God. The Bible tells us that all people make up all different parts of the Body of Christ, right? So in theory, we all mirror some different characteristic of God.” At that moment it’s like a switch had flipped on in my head, and my respect for every human that has walked the planet went up.
From this, I am able to now add to my argument for protecting the unborn. By killing a baby inside its mother’s womb, we will never get to experience that part of God. We will never be able to see what gift God was going to bless us with. When I have volunteered for my community’s Life Chain to support the unborn, I had simply held a sign advocating for what I believe in. I never wanted to get into arguments because I just didn’t understand why someone would want to kill their child. Now, when I go to future Life Chains and get a chance to stand along a popular road and defend the lives of children, I can truly argue for them and how their lives matter to not only the mother, but the whole world.
I have also taken advantage of the Life Chain to pray a rosary for the unborn. My church and all of its volunteers typically dedicate one Hail Mary to ten souls that have lost their lives to abortion. By praying the rosary, I will not only pray for the peace in the hearts of the mothers that would have been, but also the hearts of the mothers that are contemplating on ending the life of their baby.
However, it is not about the big acts of protesting or getting a mass crowd together to pray that the hearts of the people are changed. It’s about the little things we as individuals do. Whether that’s reaching out to a mother-to-be and offering our support in any way we can or teaching our children or siblings how important the human life is. Even the smallest actions can have the greatest effects.
