I am the daughter of two immigrant parents. My parents immigrated to the United States from Poland. They were living in a communist world and simply desired the American dream. Growing up, I was always taught to be compassionate, dedicated, and grateful. My family values have truly shaped my life. As a result, I always strive to make my parents proud. Throughout my education, I was always driven. I wanted to be that student that is on top of the class with high honor rolls. In my early education, I was always ahead of my grade level by at least two years. In high school, I began dual-enrolling in college so that I could earn my associate's degree two years earlier. Luckily, I achieved this in May of 2021. I graduated from college one month before my high school graduation with high honors and stellar achievements in both. The time that every student dreads was approaching: what do I want to do with my life? As a first-generation student, this question was not easy to answer. After looking at many different routes and ideas, my mind always went back to criminal justice. I want to be the change in the criminal justice system, creating equal opportunity for everyone. I began studying at the University of Central Florida in 2021. Two years later, I have learned so much within my major, understanding exactly how important different roles within the career help others. With the help of professors and professionals in the field, I have decided that I want to become a Criminal Analyst. My role would use research, statistics, and mapping to help put away the right people. Additionally, I would help raise awareness for issues within the system that need fixing. With my goals in mind, I decided to continue my education at UCF by pursuing a master's degree in criminal justice. Understanding the fundamentals behind my career choice is crucial for doing my job to the best of my ability. In the end, the more education I get, the better prepared I am for helping those in my community. As a first-generation student, any extra funds put a little bit of ease into completing my education. Since I live away from my parents for school, this money would assist me with basic living needs, like rent, groceries, and my student loans. Life is expensive, and any extra help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to review my application.
