Hello! Thank you for checking out my profile, and giving me a chance :) My name is Jazmine Jackson, and I'm from Dayton, Ohio. I am a student at University of Cincinnati.
Certain hardships I've experienced throughout my life made me decide my future career. At a young age, I was bullied, and those experiences changed my outlook on life. From that point on, I had a great desire to help people. I helped others and genuinely strove to make them feel okay.
I know people have endured hardships that took a toll on them and they may need someone to talk and let it out too. Ultimately, why I want to take my goals and turn them into reality, becoming a psychiatrist. Seeing people turn into the best version of themselves is a win for me, and I want to be the person to help them get to that point. Becoming a Psychiatrist would be the best version of myself, because I can apply what I learned throughout my life and how I got through my hardships, into other’s lives and make things easier for them.
I'm a great Bold candidate since I possess bold characteristics. I am extremely ambitious, driven, talented, determined, and the willingness to get tasks done no matter what I have to overcome. Receiving a Bold scholarship would mean a a lot and help me tremendously in pursuing my career goals.

“The world is a cruel place, and it’s also very beautiful.” - Mikasa Ackerman.
Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama is more than just an anime; it's a fascinating saga that captivated me from the first episode to yearning for more after it ended. For me, Its enduring appeal lies in its ability to evoke a wide range of emotions, from heart-pounding action to profound moments of introspection. Besides the visually stunning scenes, the series also boasts complex characters and a richly layered foreshadowing narrative that explores themes of humanity, freedom, identity, loss, morality, hope, and many more.
At its core, Attack on Titan is a story of humanity's struggle against overwhelming adversity. Set in a world where humanity is on the brink of extinction due to the relentless onslaught of giant humanoid creatures known as Titans, the series follows the journey of protagonist Eren Yeager and his comrades as they fight to protect what remains of civilization. The relentless threat of the Titans creates a constant sense of tension and urgency. No matter how many times I rewatch, it always has me on the edge of my seat with each new revelation and plot twist.
One of the most compelling aspects of the show is its ability to evoke powerful emotions. From the exhilaration of watching the Survey Corps take on the Titans in breathtaking battles to the heart-wrenching tragedies that befall beloved characters, the series elicits a wide range of emotional responses. Falling in love with the craft, and seeing the development of its characters throughout the show. Made me more drawn into the characters' struggles and triumphs, experiencing their pain, fear, loss, determination, etc as if they were my own.
Following the emotional impact of Attack on Titan is the character of Mikasa Ackerman, who is also my favorite character. As one of the series' main protagonists, Mikasa undergoes significant growth and development throughout the story. Initially introduced as a stoic and fiercely protective young woman, Mikasa's character evolves as she grapples with her feelings for her childhood friend Eren and confronts the harsh realities of the world around her.
Mikasa's journey is marked by moments of profound vulnerability and strength, which made her a deeply relatable character to me. Her unwavering devotion to Eren, despite the challenges they faced, added a layer of emotional depth to the story, as well as her own story. Mikasa's struggles and sacrifices resonated with me. Knowing her story of how much she wanted to make her dream a reality but it couldn’t work out. How she had to decide to sacrifice everything (Eren) to save humanity, really made me feel for her. The more I watched the show, I realized I saw myself in her. Reminding me of how when it comes to certain things, we’re living the same lives in different fonts. Her willingness to confront her fears and confront her mortality is both inspiring and heartbreaking. This showed the series' exploration of the human capacity for heroism and selflessness.
Overall the show is amazing, but I think Mikasa’s character was the main thing that made me fall in love with the show. Seeing how one’s love can strengthen a person, yet break them down with the choices they have to make, really made this show endlessly captivating.
