The most impactful invention in the last ten years is the Mars Rover. The Mars Rover is a big step in the ongoing space research. From the moment it took off in 2014 and landed in 2021 it has provided fresh and unheard-of knowledge that had only been hypotheses and rumors. It has provided new information about our planet's closes neighbor after many attempts to get a rover on its surface. This advancement, allows opportunities to learn so much more about our solar system than what has been theorized and observed before. It opens up the door to so much more physical testing and explorations of our neighboring planet without the need for humans or even makes sure a human could successfully land on Mars. This could also lead to other explorations of the planets such as finding ways to land on Venus without a drone dissolving from the acid rain or even the closest planet to the sun Mercury. Space as we know it doesn't even have an end to it and there is still so much to learn from our own solar system and galaxy that we have yet to learn about before we can include other galaxies.
This field is such an unknown that it will take multiple generations of collective knowledge before even the simplest of questions and theories can be proven. Is there life out in the universe? Why do twin stars form? Each simple question requires years of study and experiments.
Space is a new frontier for science and there is still much to be discovered, tested, theorized, and learned about. I would one day love to contribute to such a cause and help discover something that has never been seen or prove an important theory. With so much left to learn and study I feel like investing and entering this field would be a mental adventure by itself. With so much left to learn would love to enter a career involving space of some kind. There are so many options and jobs that are available in space exploration with anything from studying the galaxies in a certain square in the night sky to designing the next rover or rocket that is shot into space. This is a field that is expanding as much as the universe itself and I would love to be a part of it. All in all, the most important and impactful invention within these past ten years to me is the Mars Rover.
