I have challenged societal norms since middle school leading into high school. Students would find me strange. I understand that I am different but I am an incredible person with supernatural gifts. I knew that my calling was to help others struggling with themselves and being accepted by society. Since I experienced this during my adolescence years, I feel drawn to helping other adolescents struggling with their quirks. A lot of successful people in life went through problems of their own. For example, Albert Einstein was a genius who had Asperger’s syndrome. His parents and people in his age group thought he was strange, but he discovered that he has an exceptional IQ and his curiosity took him to further places. I identify as a racially ambiguous androgynous person with scoliosis who is neurodiverse. Being neurodiverse helped me unlock my psychic gift. I am a lot slower at processing things compared to other people but the more I got acquainted with my brain, the more creative and invincible I felt. I am working on a creative film project that illustrates my vision. This film idea is about a group of people who are considered impure to society and disregard societal norms. This group is known as inhumans. The franchise will navigate all the hardships and adventures they undergo to gain equality. After getting my message across, I will work as a pediatrician who will develop a medical practice that utilizes fashion and self-sustaining therapies to improve adolescents’ health, and eventually establish an educational institution for diverse adolescents struggling with any condition they possibly have. I am not an immigrant, however, I have some immigrant background from my family. It started with my grandparents who immigrated from West Africa to the United States for their post-secondary degree. My paternal grandfather traveled to Europe for work. I was born in America due to the exposure my parents had when they attended school here. My mother was born America too, since her parents studied here, they moved back to their home country when my mother was three years old. Being in an immigrant family lets me learn more about my ancestry and something that I can share with society. I do not care if society does not understand my identity. I am proud of the things that make me and want people to know who I am, so we can understand each other and coexist peacefully with society.

I have been involved in many organizations through my church contributing to many services. Some of the services I have done were protesting against abortion, visiting the elderly at a retirement center, educating children on the faith, and contributing to local parties and rummage sales. These services have led me to my devotion in the humanities. My grandmother introduced to me her retirement project, which is about the humanities, she was starting in Africa to help families in poverty. I was excited and willingly volunteered my services to my grandmother. She told me she will be funding for their kids to get a proper education and creating a sanctuary for families to temporarily stay in, as well as giving away any clothes they need. I used my talents to create a digital poster and a promotional website for my grandmother's business. Apart from that, I gave away some of the clothes and shoes I had as a child to my grandmother for these children. A part of my life's mission was founded under the service I did with my grandmother. I decided that I want to help these kinds of people who are facing a lot of hurt and guilt in the world. To lift the spirits of these people who consider themselves to be immoral to society. As a starting point, I want to help adolescents, since they are the ones with the most struggles, to let them know their opinions matter. I struggled a lot during my adolescent years with people hating on me and considering me to be different. I am working on a project of my own to display my message to the world. My church harnessed good values instilled in me to take forth in my journey as I carry on in my mission. I am a very stubborn person and never back down from what I believe in. I may not be a religious person but I still uphold by my church's rules. Church does not always have to be a place for learning about your faith. The teachings can be applied to making a difference in the communities. Whenever I see someone who is not considered to be of the norm, I look at them in a bright perspective and believe they have skills they can give back to humanity to make a difference. Through acts of kindness is all they really need. I try to be kind and empathetic to everyone. It can be hard when people are not kind to you, but I believe someday these people will learn to live in harmony with the "normal" people. We can learn from each other, and together we can make a difference.

I am considered to be under the neurodiverse umbrella. Starting at age eleven, I noticed that I was different from other middle schoolers which carried into high school and later, college, where I was treated like an outcast. I am academically smart; however, I struggle with basic cognitive skills that usually take other people a quick amount of time to learn. Due to my eccentric mind, making friends during this time of my life was challenging. As I progressed throughout my adolescent years, I began to figure out that my neurodivergent brain is a strength I can carry with me throughout. It allowed me to expand my creativity into artistic and scientific endeavors as a precursor to reaching my future goals, while still managing to excel in school. It is very important to me to have a well-rounded education while pursuing creative pursuits in guidance of pursuing my dream career. I am a Biology/Chemistry minor looking to study pediatric medicine to contribute to helping adolescents struggling with their neurodiverse brains or any other disabilities. My goal is for adolescents to understand who they are and be able to utilize their strengths through their weaknesses. Being an adolescent let me figure out the career path to take. I am illustrating this vision to the world through filmmaking. I am in the process of creating a science fiction film franchise that combines all aspects of myself such as my love for science and my purpose in life to explain the implications of my plan. My franchise is about a group of people who are different from society, referred as the inhuman group which is divided into several categories. Other ways to fund my creative pursuits geared towards helping adolescents would be opening a medical practice that takes fashion, cosmetic chemistry, and exercising as therapies for this group of individuals, and eventually opening up a school that is meant as a safe place for disabled students to receive an education using different methods to learn so they can make a difference in their college and career paths. I have had to deal with lots of suffering from people due to the way I think and feel, but at the same time, it made me analyze myself and who I want to be in the future and what I really want to do. All I ever want in life is to sympathize and be supportive of disabled people or any currently struggling right now, adolescents relate the most in this group since they are trying to figure out their morals.

CREATIVE. INSPIRED. HAPPY Mid-Career Writing Scholarship
Writing science fiction for films fills me with joy. I love all things sci-fi to fantasy, specifically watching science fiction movies because it has fantasy elements that ties in with the real world. It opens up a door to endless possibilities and a great way for me to establish my vision to the world. The reason I love to write films is because they provide a visual representation, where one can see what is happening visually and experience the action through moving images rather than trying to interpret people's actions from a book. When I was in elementary school, I created a story with illustrations and speech bubbles about princesses between the ages of eight and thirteen that each specialized in a particular interest. One of the princesses I wrote about specialized in the culinary arts, and the other princess specialized in literature. The princess that specialized in literature was known for being illiterate in her kingdom. It was a while since I wrote these stories so I do not remember the plot very well. I later on created an illustrated book series about the protagonist and her friends. The birth of this series began from a collection of toys I was given on Christmas of 2014. I have written other stories based on my toys and stories where I am a character who has the ability to teleport between the real world and fictional universe to be able to enter my story. I have fallen in love with science and a passion for medicine and currently in the process of producing a cinematic franchise that contributes to my purpose in life. The elements of this franchise I am working on were inspired by many science fiction movies I watch such as the Avatar movies, Marvel, and the Jurassic Park franchise. I also incorporated teenage and dramatic elements from teenage shows I have watched since most of the characters are mainly in their adolescent years. This franchise is a reflection of myself combining all the elements I considered when writing stories in the past, elements from movies and tv shows I have seen, and my purpose in life. I want to enter the pediatric field and work with struggling adolescents coping with disabilities and other things they could possibly be struggling with. This is why my franchise consists of many teenage characters. The plot is about a groups of people considered to be inhumans who are coping with the challenge of not being accepted by society. They are referred to as inhumans because society thinks of them as being vain and immoral to ordinary people. A part of me grew up with people thinking the same way about me while growing up during my adolescent years, which drove me into supporting adolescents and other people who are struggling in society just because they are viewed as being different.
