I developed a passion for powersports the first time I drove a Polaris Rzr. This sparked my interest in learning more about the different parts of side by sides. When installing different accessories on my side by side, I always think about how they could be made to be more effective and serve their purpose better.
A career in the trades will empower my future in many ways. It will allow me to have less debt than a degree from a four-year degree. It will also allow me to start out with a more competitive salary. Many trades are drawing less interest and cannot be replaced by other technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence. Along with the competitive salary that the trades offer, it can help achieve the American dream, to be an entrepreneur and operate your own business. What a great way to build a future!
The opportunity to have a career in the trades also allows me to develop special skills which will always be in demand. Having a career in power sports and precision machining will allow me to use critical problem-solving skills. The trades will allow me to contribute to my community by using my passion and skills to help others. Having a business through the trades will allow me to help my community create tax revenue for the town, as well as having creating jobs for potential employees. These skills such as sociability, attention to detail, and problem-solving will help make me more professional in the workplace, but also in everyday life challenges.
By pursuing a career in the trades, I am building my career, but I am also creating the future for myself. The trades will allow me to have ideas and create them, support my family, and make an impact in the industry I love with fixing and diagnosing problems. I hope to share my passion in powersports and precision machining with others that are wanting to get into the trades which will help the trades in future generations.
My father has influenced me the most because growing up on the farm I have always been around machinery and I have always liked to fix things and do repair work. He has always encouraged me to continue fixing things as well as when something is not going right to never give up. Throughout my life he has had a rare form of cancer that has made him get extensive treatment in other states. This caused me to do many of these tasks on my own and try to figure them out. His dedication to never give up has been a perfect role model and reminds me to be determined and pay attention to detail. I was also diagnosed very young that I was deaf in my left ear. This led me to learn through other ways such as hands on tasks. With these challenges i would like to show others that no matter what you might think is difficult or impossible there is always a way and to never give up.
