Nabi Nicole Grant Memorial Scholarship
Growing up, I have always been surrounded by strong examples of faith and resilience, particularly through my mom, who immigrated from Haiti to provide a better life for my sister and me. Her journey has been a testament to determination and faith, and she has always encouraged us to turn to God for strength when facing challenges. This foundation became incredibly important to me a few years ago when our family went through a difficult period financially, testing both my faith and my sense of responsibility.
Around that time, I was just starting high school, eager and hopeful for the opportunities ahead. But with financial stress weighing on my family, I felt a new pressure to help however I could. My mom worked long hours to support us, and I knew she was making significant sacrifices to make sure we had what we needed. I wanted to relieve some of her burden, but at fourteen, my options were limited. I felt a deep sense of worry and helplessness, struggling with how to handle the situation.
It was then that I turned to my faith more seriously. I prayed constantly, asking God for guidance, for the strength to stay focused, and for the wisdom to make a difference, even in small ways. Through prayer, I found a sense of calm and clarity that helped me take proactive steps. I knew that while I might not be able to change our family’s situation overnight, I could work hard in school, build good habits, and find small ways to contribute. I started volunteering as a tutor for younger students in my community, both to gain experience and to earn a small income. Each session, I reminded myself that this was a small step toward easing my family’s financial stress and that God was guiding me through these moments, no matter how challenging they felt.
With my faith as a foundation, I worked hard to excel academically, knowing that college could open doors to better opportunities for my family and me. I focused on maintaining high grades, participating in extracurriculars, and building skills that would prepare me for the future. Now, as I work toward obtaining my real estate license and preparing for college, I carry the lessons of faith and resilience I learned through that challenging period.
This experience taught me that faith isn’t just about hoping for a miracle but about taking steps forward, even if they are small, and trusting that God has a purpose in everything. It has shaped my ambition, instilling in me the drive to succeed and make a meaningful impact. Long-term, I am considering a career in radiology, where I can serve others and use my strengths in a way that honors my family’s sacrifices and my faith.
Earning this scholarship would be a tremendous step toward that goal, allowing me to further my education and continue building a life that reflects the same faith, resilience, and desire to uplift others that Nabi Nicole embodied so beautifully.

My mom’s journey from Haiti to the United States is a story of resilience, sacrifice, and strength. When she arrived, she had a vision of providing a better life for me and my sister. Yet, stepping off the plane was only the beginning of a daunting journey. In an unfamiliar country, with few connections and limited resources, my mom had to figure out how to build a new life from the ground up. Watching her determination and grit to overcome every obstacle has not only shaped who I am but has inspired the path I want to pursue.
One of the biggest challenges my mom faced was finding work. Back in Haiti, she had a professional background and skills she was proud of, but here in the United States, those qualifications weren’t recognized. Language barriers and lack of a support network made it difficult to find anything stable. Yet, my mom never let these setbacks stop her. I remember watching her wake up before sunrise, working long shifts at physically demanding jobs she never imagined herself doing, all to provide a stable foundation for my sister and me. There were days she’d come home exhausted, her hands rough and swollen from the day’s work, but she’d still ask me and my sister about our homework, still encourage us to pursue our dreams. Her resilience in the face of every obstacle taught me that no job is too small, and that success is built on the strength to push through any challenge.
Beyond the workplace, my mom also faced the profound isolation of adapting to a country with a different language, customs, and expectations. Living in an area where few people shared our language or background was especially challenging for her. But instead of giving up, she found strength in her roots and sought out ways to build community. She began attending local events, connecting with other Haitian immigrants, and sharing her culture wherever she could. Our home became a gathering place for friends and family, filled with Haitian music, food, and stories. My sister and I grew up surrounded by this sense of community, which helped us feel grounded despite the challenges we faced. From these experiences, I learned the importance of community and cultural pride. My mom taught me that our heritage is not just something we leave behind but something we can carry with us and share proudly.
Her journey has profoundly shaped my outlook on life. Because of her, I’ve learned to embrace challenges head-on and to persist even when things seem impossible. Her example has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our culture, values, and language. It has also inspired me to give back to immigrant communities facing similar barriers. I want to work toward creating opportunities and support networks for young people from immigrant backgrounds, making it easier for them to thrive while staying connected to their heritage.
Today, every accomplishment I achieve is a reflection of my mom’s courage and sacrifices. Her story drives me to push forward, to support others, and to honor the life she has worked so hard to build for us. I carry her lessons in everything I do, and I’m determined to make a positive impact that reflects her strength and the values she’s instilled in me, as well as the support and love I’ve shared with my sister along the way.
Raise Me Up to DO GOOD Scholarship
Growing up in a single-parent household has profoundly shaped my perspective and future goals. My mom, who raised my sister and me on her own, demonstrated incredible strength and resilience. Her ability to juggle multiple jobs while managing our home and providing for us taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance and dedication. I witnessed firsthand how hard work and determination can make a significant difference, even in the face of financial challenges and personal hardships.
These experiences have deeply influenced my ambitions and how I want to contribute to the world. My goal is to pursue a career in radiology, and this decision is deeply rooted in my desire to make a meaningful impact in the field of healthcare. Radiology intrigues me because it involves using advanced imaging technology to diagnose and treat patients. I am drawn to the idea of being part of a team that plays a crucial role in diagnosing illnesses and guiding treatment decisions. The thought of being involved in the process of helping patients understand their health conditions and supporting their journey toward recovery is incredibly motivating.
My experiences growing up have highlighted the importance of having access to quality healthcare and the role that medical professionals play in ensuring better outcomes for patients. I want to use my skills and knowledge to contribute to this field, ensuring that patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatments. The empathy and understanding I’ve developed through my personal experiences will help me connect with patients and provide them with the care and support they need during challenging times.
In addition to my interest in radiology, I am also passionate about pursuing a career in real estate. My background has given me a deep appreciation for the significance of having a stable and supportive home environment. I understand the impact that a comfortable and secure home can have on a person’s well-being and overall quality of life. This understanding drives my desire to help others find their ideal homes.
In real estate, I see an opportunity to assist families in navigating the complex process of buying or selling a home. I want to be a resource for people, helping them find a place where they can build their lives and create lasting memories. I believe that by leveraging my skills in communication and my understanding of people’s needs, I can make the home-buying or selling experience as smooth and positive as possible.
Both of these career paths radiology and real estate allow me to use my talents and experiences to make a positive impact on others. In radiology, I would be directly involved in patient care, playing a key role in diagnosing and treating health conditions. In real estate, I would help families find homes that fit their needs and support their dreams. Each of these careers offers a unique way to contribute to people’s lives and make a difference in my community.
Ultimately, my background has instilled in me a strong sense of empathy and a commitment to helping others. Whether through providing critical medical care or assisting families in finding their perfect homes, I am driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact. My experiences have shaped my goals and prepared me to use my skills and knowledge to support others and contribute positively to the world. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and the ways in which I can continue to grow and make a difference in my chosen fields.
Learner Mental Health Empowerment for Health Students Scholarship
Mental health is profoundly important to me as a student because it affects every aspect of my life. Balancing schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and personal responsibilities can be overwhelming, and maintaining good mental health is crucial for managing these pressures effectively. My own struggles with mental health have shown me that being mentally well isn’t just about handling stress; it’s about staying connected with myself and others and being able to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and hope.
I’ve faced moments where the weight of academic and personal pressures felt nearly unbearable. During these times, I’ve learned that mental health isn’t just a personal issue it’s something that impacts our entire community. When my mental health is not in a good place, it affects not just my ability to focus and perform academically but also my relationships and overall outlook on life. Conversely, when I take care of my mental well-being, I’m more engaged, more positive, and better able to support those around me.
This understanding has driven me to be actively involved in advocating for mental health within my school and broader community. At school, I’m part of a mental health club dedicated to raising awareness and providing support. We organize events like workshops and discussions on mental health topics, aiming to educate our peers and create a more supportive environment. These initiatives have been incredibly rewarding. It’s moving to see how opening up about mental health issues can help someone feel less isolated and more understood. By creating spaces where students can share their experiences and learn coping strategies, we’re making a real difference in reducing stigma and encouraging those who might be struggling to seek help.
At home, I’ve worked hard to foster an environment where mental health is discussed openly and without judgment. I regularly check in with my family members, creating opportunities for us to talk about our feelings and support each other. This open communication has helped us all manage stress better and has strengthened our relationships. I’ve also shared resources and information on mental health with my family, which has been a crucial part of ensuring that we all understand the importance of mental well-being and know where to find help when needed.
My advocacy for mental health is driven by a deep personal connection to the issues and a strong desire to help others who may be facing similar challenges. I believe that by supporting mental health initiatives and fostering open conversations, we can create a community where everyone feels valued and understood. It’s about more than just raising awareness it’s about making a tangible impact and ensuring that mental health is treated as a fundamental aspect of our overall well-being.
In summary, mental health is central to my life as a student because it affects my academic performance, relationships, and personal growth. My experiences have motivated me to advocate for mental health both at school and at home, aiming to create supportive environments where open dialogue and access to resources are the norms. Through these efforts, I hope to make a meaningful difference and contribute to a community where everyone can thrive and feel supported.
Lotus Scholarship
Growing up in a single parent household with just my mom and sister has significantly shaped who I am today. My mom’s relentless hard work and determination to provide for us despite financial constraints have taught me the value of perseverance and resilience. Watching her manage multiple jobs and still make time for us, even when things were tough, inspired me to adopt a similar work ethic.
Living with limited resources has also instilled in me a strong sense of resourcefulness and appreciation for opportunities. I’ve learned to make the most out of what we have and to tackle challenges with creativity and determination. These experiences have motivated me to excel in my studies and seek out opportunities for personal growth.
I plan to use my experiences to make a positive impact in my community by giving back through volunteer work and community service. I’m actively involved in organizations that support underserved youth and families, and I’m dedicated to using my education and skills to advocate for those facing similar challenges.
By pursuing higher education and engaging in community initiatives, I aim to create opportunities and support others in overcoming their own obstacles, just as my mom did for me.

My life has been shaped by both challenges and growth, with depression being a significant part of my journey. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dealt with periods of sadness and loneliness that I didn’t fully understand at first. It felt like I was constantly battling with myself, trying to stay focused and positive when all I wanted to do was shut down. There were days when I struggled just to get out of bed, and even doing things I once enjoyed felt exhausting. Depression created a sense of isolation for me, making it hard to connect with people, stay motivated, or figure out what I wanted to do with my life.
During those tough times, I knew that some people turned to drugs as a way to cope, and I won’t lie there were moments when I considered it. I thought maybe drugs could be an escape from the constant pressure and sadness I was feeling. But deep down, I realized that taking that path would only make things worse in the long run. Instead, I found strength in other places through the support of family and friends, and eventually through therapy. It wasn’t easy, but I knew that I had to deal with the root of the problem rather than just masking it.
One of the hardest things I’ve had to do is admit that I needed help. For a long time, I was afraid to tell people what I was going through. I didn’t want to be seen as weak or incapable of handling life. But the truth is, seeking help turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Therapy gave me a way to understand my feelings and helped me learn better ways to cope with my depression. Over time, I began to see that my struggles didn’t define me they were just one part of my story.
Another major hurdle has been learning how to manage my mental health while still pursuing my goals. It’s been a process, but I’ve come to realize that it’s okay to have bad days. What matters is how I handle them and keep moving forward. I’ve learned to focus on small victories, whether it’s getting through a tough day or completing a task that seemed impossible.
Now, I’m at a point in my life where I’m ready to take the next steps toward my future. I’ve rediscovered my love for learning and am excited about the possibilities that come with furthering my education or exploring a trade. Depression is still something I deal with, but it no longer holds me back. I’ve learned to prioritize my mental health while also staying committed to my goals.
Looking ahead, I’m eager to pursue a path that allows me to grow both personally and professionally. I want to use what I’ve been through to help others, especially those who might be struggling like I was. I’m determined to create a future I’m proud of, knowing that I’ve already overcome so much and am capable of handling whatever comes next.
Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship
One of my favorite aspects of Minecraft is the thrill of exploring and discovering new biomes. Each time I embark on an adventure, it feels like a fresh journey into the unknown. The excitement of setting off into a new area and seeing what unique landscapes and features await me is one of the most captivating parts of the game.
The diversity of biomes in Minecraft is astounding. From dense, mysterious forests and vast, open plains to icy tundras and towering mountain ranges, each biome offers something different. I love the way the game generates these worlds randomly, so every exploration feels unique. The possibility of stumbling upon a rare biome or an unexpected feature keeps me constantly intrigued and motivated to explore further.
What makes this aspect resonate with me is the combination of curiosity and discovery. When I set out on an expedition, I never quite know what I’m going to find. This sense of unpredictability adds an element of excitement to every journey. I might find a hidden village with interesting villagers, a beautiful waterfall cascading down a cliff, or even a rare mineral that I haven’t encountered before. These discoveries not only enrich my gameplay but also inspire me to think creatively about how to use the resources and features I find.
Exploring new biomes also gives me a sense of freedom and adventure. The vast, open world of Minecraft allows me to travel as far as I want, without any real constraints. I can venture into the wilderness, build temporary shelters, and create maps of the areas I explore. There’s a special satisfaction in uncovering every corner of a new biome and marking it on my map, knowing that I’ve fully explored and understood that part of the world.
Moreover, each biome has its own ecosystem and challenges. Some biomes are rich in resources, while others may be more dangerous, with hostile mobs or harsh climates. This variety keeps the exploration dynamic and engaging, as I need to adapt my strategies and prepare differently for each environment I encounter.
The joy of finding something new and the sense of accomplishment that comes from discovering hidden gems or achieving exploration milestones make this aspect of Minecraft particularly rewarding. It’s not just about the immediate rewards but also about the stories and memories I build along the way. Every new biome adds to the rich tapestry of my Minecraft world, and each adventure contributes to a greater narrative of exploration and discovery.
Live Music Lover Scholarship
WinnerOne of the best memories I have is when I went to see Future perform live in concert. The excitement started building the moment we got to the venue. Everyone around me was buzzing with energy, and you could tell it was going to be a night to remember. As we waited for the show to start, the anticipation in the air was almost electric. You could feel it building up with each passing minute.
When the lights finally went down and the first beats started blasting through the speakers, the crowd went absolutely crazy. The bass was so powerful that it felt like the whole place was shaking, and when Future walked out on stage, it was like the entire audience exploded with cheers. The energy was through the roof, and you could tell that everyone was there for a good time.
But what really made the concert stand out were all the surprise guests Future brought out. Just when you thought the show couldn’t get any better, another artist would step out on stage, and the crowd would lose it all over again. It wasn’t just a Future concert anymore—it felt like a huge celebration with so many different artists coming together. Each guest brought their own style and energy to the stage, but everything blended together so seamlessly. It was like we were getting a whole festival packed into one night.
The visuals during the concert were next level too. The light shows and graphics were perfectly timed with the music, creating this amazing atmosphere that made the entire experience even more intense. It wasn’t just about the music; it was about the whole vibe. Everyone around me was completely immersed in it—singing along, dancing like crazy, and just living in the moment. You could feel the connection between everyone there, all sharing in the same incredible experience.
By the end of the night, I was completely drained. My voice was gone from singing every word, and my feet were aching from dancing nonstop, but I didn’t care at all. It was totally worth it. That concert was one of those nights where everything just clicks—the music, the energy, the people—and you know it’s something you’ll remember for a long time. It was hands down one of the most fun and unforgettable nights I’ve ever had.
Now I’m wishing he would come back for another concert down here, but he’s doing rolling loud in December so hey even better.
Learner Math Lover Scholarship
I love math because it’s a subject that constantly challenges me while giving me a sense of accomplishment when I solve problems. There’s something incredibly satisfying about working through a complex equation or figuring out a tricky problem and arriving at the correct answer. It’s like solving a puzzle, where every piece has its place, and when everything clicks, it’s a great feeling.
Math is also logical and precise, which I really appreciate. Unlike other subjects where answers can be open to interpretation, math is clear-cut. If you follow the steps correctly, you can always find the right answer. This certainty and structure make math feel reliable and even comforting in a way.
What I also love about math is that it’s more than just numbers and formulas. It’s a way of thinking that applies to so many areas of life. Whether it’s in science, technology, engineering, or even in simple everyday tasks, math helps us understand how things work and how they connect. Knowing math makes me feel more confident and capable because I can apply it to solve real-world problems.
Another reason I enjoy math is because of the creativity it allows. While there’s always a correct answer, there can be multiple ways to get there. Finding different methods or strategies to solve a problem can be really fun and rewarding. It makes me think outside the box and develop my problem-solving skills, which is something I enjoy and find useful in other areas of my life.
Finally, I love the challenge that math presents. It pushes me to think deeply and to keep improving. Even when a problem seems tough at first, the process of working through it and finally understanding it is incredibly fulfilling. Math teaches me perseverance and the value of hard work, which are important lessons not just in school but in life.
In short, math is a subject that engages both my logical and creative sides, helps me understand the world, and gives me a sense of achievement. That’s why I love it so much.
