Bio

Greetings, My name is Jasmine Taylor. I was born and raised, until the age of three, in Seoul, South Korea, predominantly by my grandmother. As of now, I permanently reside in Chula Vista, located in southern California with my father. Fearlessly and abundantly, I was created to aid, assist and empower my up-and-coming generations of inventors, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, educators, advocators, visionaries, artisans, and humanity. As of now, I am a full-time university student, attending the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. I will be completing my Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Military Science. I am a three-year, UMHB Army ROTC scholarship recipient, with a binding intention of being officially commissioned in the Spring semester of the year 2023, as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Armed Forces. As I gradually progress in my military career, I firmly intend to heighten my level of education from a Bachelor's Degree to that either a Doctorate or Ph.D. Furthermore, upon successfully completing my contracted 4-8 year term as a United States Army officer, I'll find myself dedicating a large percentage of my early and middle adulthood to the civilian world, serving those in need of certified psychiatric expertise.

    Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Psychological and mental wellness are important in our everyday lives because they affect our complete health and well-being, which typically includes, emotional, and social elements of our lives. We are more prepared to deal with hardship, perform efficiently on a professional and academic level, create successful relationships, and maintain a content and fulfilling life when we are psychologically and emotionally healthy. To attain optimal performance in academics, military training, and athletics, as a full-time university student and Army ROTC cadet, I must sustain my improved mental well-being. The following are some ways that primarily aid in my success in sustaining my mental and physical well-being:  Practice self-care: Self-care is essential for optimal mental health. It's simple to get wrapped up in a heavy workload as a university student, Army ROTC cadet, and aspiring Olympian, but I must reserve time for myself. This might include things like exercising, getting proper sleep, eating balanced meals, and participating in pursuits that offer me a sense of peace and groundedness.  Use stress-management techniques: Undoubtedly, as a university student, I do experience periods of stress, whether it's from examinations, military training, or. Mindfulness meditation, power naps, and pilates are stress-management strategies that can help decrease stress and enhance overall mental well-being. Fostering a strong network of support: I firmly believe that a robust support network is critical for excellent mental health. Friends, relatives, coworkers, and mentors all offer me encouragement, knowledge, and emotional security during trying circumstances.  Seeking out professional aid: Despite my best efforts, I do stumble upon mental health challenges that necessitate professional guidance. Receiving the guidance of a professional in mental health, such as a counselor or psychotherapist, can aid in the identification and resolution of deeper mental health problems. Establishing attainable objectives: As a university student and Army ROTC cadet, it is important to establish attainable goals. Establishing unachievable objectives can lead to feelings of dissatisfaction, tension, and frustration, all of which can have a bad influence on mental health. Practice positive self-talk: Positive self-talk can help promote self-confidence, which is essential for academic success, military training, and sports. It's essential to focus on strengths, acknowledge achievements, and avoid negative self-talk that can lead to self-doubt and low self-esteem. Stay connected: Feeling connected to others is essential for good mental health. It's essential to stay connected with peers, teammates, and family members through regular communication, whether it's in-person or virtual. Prioritize time management: Managing time effectively can help reduce stress and improve overall mental wellness. It's important to prioritize tasks, set realistic deadlines, and avoid procrastination. To conclude, psychological and mental well-being are critical for overall health and well-being. Promoting mental well-being is essential to achieving excellence in my academics, military training, and athletics as a full-time university student, Army ROTC cadet, and prospective Olympian. I choose to enhance my overall mental well-being and reach optimal performance by practicing self-care, stress-management measures, developing supportive relationships, getting professional counseling, developing achievable objectives, exercising positive self-talk, remaining focused, and prioritizing time-management skills.
    Bold Goals Scholarship
Within the foreseeable future, I envision myself having successfully graduated from UMHB (with honors), receiving my Bachelors of Science in Clinical Psychology, and commissioning into the United States Armed Forces as a Second Lieutenant officer. I envision myself being selected into the Military Intelligence branch, and being assigned to a platoon of diverse enlisted soldiers. As a requirement of my Army ROTC Scholarship, I’ll commit myself to eight years in an Active Duty unit. This commitment will follow my university graduation and commissioning into the United States Army. From that point onward, I’ll decide whether or not I’ll continue to pursue my Active Duty military career. If not, I’ll choose to pursue a career path within the United States Army Reserves, whilst furthering my education. If I were to select the United States Army Reserves, I’ll be attending my periodic duties within the United States Army Reserves. I’ll simultaneously uphold a civilian or military attachment occupation centered around my acquired qualifications earned from my Bachelor’s education, as well as from my extensive field training. Furthermore, if I were to proceed down the aforementioned path, I plan to enroll myself in medical school, to complete an M.D. program. From then on, I’ll pursue board certification from a respected medical board. Most notably, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as I see myself becoming a Board Certified Psychiatrist. Currently, at this time, I’ve acknowledged Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Texas Christian University, University of Houston College of Medicine, and McGovern Medical School at UT Health Science Center at Houston as the institutional frontrunners of my graduate study endeavors.

The element of movement, such as the snow cascading gingerly above from the atmosphere, shifts to the right. This allows the viewer's eye to believe that the "wind" or overall sweep of movement to shift in a single direction. Secondly, element of emphasis is positioned upon the figure entirely draped in bold red garments. The figure is made the central focus of the artwork. Thirdly, the combination of varietal emphasis, movement, depth, shape and distinct colors sharply manifest a deeply moody, unpredictable, mysterious and unsettling experience for that of any given viewer; which leaves them at question and curiosity of what the possible message could be.

'Hey You' by Pink Floyd. This is a song deriving from their album titled 'The Wall'. The initial second of hearing the lyrics of this song flow from the sound system of a late friend's Chevrolet Malibu, whilst being stalled on the desolate outer city streets in his Illinois hometown, was like pure magic. This touches heavily on the subject matter of alienation, despite being surrounded by thousands upon thousands of unfamiliar individuals. Personally, it symbolizes how we as human individuals in our most shamelessly desperate attempt to deny emotional distraught and agony from the apathy of our world, make the conscious decision to deliberately corner and surround ourselves with seemingly unbreakable walls. Thus, denying any means of intimacy or ties with anyone. The otherwise regrettable action of alienating oneself, as my late friend had once said, is propelled from a place which is wholly internalized. This scrutinized place is where individuals commonly gather the belief that by behaving in a manner which is apathetic towards others, they then could potentially rescue themselves from the harsh indifference, which at the time and currently festers in our world. Presumably, the one choosing to purposefully shelter themselves must understand that there stands an unforgiving world, which pans no mercy to anyone. With that being said, whilst they choose to detest the unlovable carelessness of the other individuals, of the world beyond their concrete barriers, they're otherwise inferior to their growing sense of pity for those who have yet to disconnect from the sheer crudeness they are left to face regularly. Despite these evident truths, "these sort of people, writing behind their walls of insecurity, are just playing pretend. Some realize it for themselves, while other people stay clueless and blind. No matter the circumstances, all those people engulfed by their own walls are still searching. Searching for some sign of connection, compassion, affection, and care. That's why I'm constantly reminding you of how much you matter to me."
