Losing my father at the age of 13 was a life-altering experience that left me grappling with a profound sense of loss and uncertainty. He was my hero, my confidant, and my partner in countless adventures. The memories we created together are etched in my heart, and they have shaped the person I am today. From sledding down snowy hills at our favorite park to building forts in the living room, my father and I shared moments of pure joy and connection. These memories, along with the lessons he taught me, have been a source of comfort and inspiration.
One of my most cherished memories is of the times we spent at the Great Wolf Lodge. The excitement of the water slides, the laughter we shared, and the simple joy of being together created an unbreakable bond. My father was always there, cheering me on, encouraging me to be brave, and reminding me that it was okay to have fun and be a kid. These moments were filled with love and happiness, and they are memories I hold close to my heart, especially when I need strength and encouragement.
At home, we spent countless hours building forts and playing video games. My father introduced me to "The Simpsons" and "The Sims," and we would often spend our evenings immersed in these games, laughing and strategizing together. He had a way of making everything fun, and through these activities, he taught me the importance of creativity, problem-solving, and, most importantly, the value of spending time with loved ones. These lessons have stayed with me, and they continue to influence how I approach challenges and relationships in my life.
The loss of my father was a tremendous challenge, and there were times when the grief felt overwhelming. However, I also realized that I needed to honor his memory by living a life that reflected the values he had instilled in me. This realization led me to channel my energy into my passions and goals.
In high school, I found solace and a sense of purpose through sports. Joining the cheerleading team and the track team allowed me to stay active, focus on my goals, and build a supportive community around me. Cheerleading taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, while track helped me develop resilience and a strong work ethic. These experiences have been instrumental in helping me navigate the ups and downs of high school, and they have given me the confidence to pursue my dreams.
As I prepare to graduate in 2025, I have decided to major in biology and pursue a career as a pharmacist. This decision is deeply rooted in my desire to help others and make a positive impact in the world, just as my father did for me. I want to use my knowledge and skills to improve the lives of others, and in doing so, honor the memory of the man who taught me the importance of compassion, dedication, and love.
Losing my father was the hardest thing I have ever faced, but it has also given me a deeper appreciation for life and the people I love. As I continue on this journey, I carry my father’s memory with me, knowing that he is still guiding me every step of the way.

I am a young lady looking forward to her bright future and leaving the past behind. I am involved in cheerleading, the Black Student Union, the senior committee, the yearbook, and the American Sign Language Club. One of my favorite classes of my whole high school career would have to be art. I felt free in that class because I felt like I was able to spread my creativity like the wings of a bird. I enjoy experimenting and figuring out what works best. I spend most of my time at school during weekdays and the weekends at work. I love being creative and working with others who are just as ambitious as me. In my earlier stage of life, I struggled with confidence and motivation.
As I got older I started to realize the importance of my education and how I belong here. I have always been a scholar and have maintained my grades since elementary school. Of course, sometimes I would slack as a younger child with presentations and group work but overall I was hardworking. This was because I was a shy child who lacked confidence and motivation within her home. I was going through a lot with my parents with court and things which took a toll on me. I hope that what I went through in the past years will not affect my achievements in the future.
This scholarship would be beneficial for my pharmacy career pathway. It will help provide financial means to access a quality education and resources to help me. It would help alleviate the burden of my tuition fees, book fees, and student housing. This will allow me to focus on my studies of becoming a pharmacist especially since a pharmacy degree can be quite costly. I will be able to fully immerse myself in my academic studies and gain the knowledge and skills necessary for success in my future career. This support will empower me to achieve my career aspirations and positively impact my community by serving them.

"Get Out" is a groundbreaking film directed by Jordan Peele that was released in 2017. It combines elements of horror, satire, and psychological thriller to create a thought-provoking and suspenseful narrative. The film follows the story of Chris Washington, a young African American man who visits his white girlfriend's family for a weekend getaway. From the moment Chris arrives at the family's secluded estate, he begins to notice strange and unsettling behavior from the seemingly welcoming family and their friends. As the weekend progresses, Chris uncovers a disturbing secret that puts his life in danger. One of the most powerful aspects of "Get Out" is its exploration of racial dynamics and social commentary. The film delves into the concept of "the sunken place," a metaphorical representation of the marginalization and oppression experienced by black individuals in society. Through its horror elements, "Get Out" sheds light on the insidious nature of racism and the ways it can manifest in everyday life. The performances in "Get Out" are exceptional, with Daniel Kaluuya delivering a captivating portrayal of Chris. His nuanced performance effectively conveys the range of emotions experienced by his character, from confusion and suspicion to fear and determination. The supporting cast, including Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, and Catherine Keener, also deliver strong performances that contribute to the film's overall impact. Jordan Peele skillfully weaves together elements of horror and satire to create a unique cinematic experience. The film's writing is sharp and thought-provoking, offering layers of symbolism and metaphor that encourage viewers to reflect on their own biases and prejudices. In addition to its thematic depth, "Get Out" also excels in its technical aspects. The cinematography by Toby Oliver effectively captures the eerie atmosphere of the film, utilizing visual cues to heighten tension and suspense. The score by Michael Abels adds another layer of intensity, enhancing the overall viewing experience. "Get Out" had a profound impact on both the film industry and society as a whole. Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
Mental health is a topic that's close to my heart, so I'll do my best to share my thoughts with you. In terms of beliefs, my experience with mental health has shaped my perspective in several ways.
Firstly, it has made me realize the importance of prioritizing mental well-being and self-care. I've come to understand that taking care of our mental health is just as crucial as looking after our physical health. It has also taught me to challenge stigmas and stereotypes surrounding mental health, and to advocate for more open discussions and support systems. When it comes to relationships, my journey with mental health has had a profound impact. It has allowed me to develop a deeper sense of empathy and understanding towards others who may be going through similar struggles. It has taught me to be a better listener, to offer support without judgment, and to be there for my loved ones when they need it most. Mental health challenges can bring people closer together, as we learn to lean on one another for support and understanding.
I have personally dealt with mental health after the incident with my father. Have a many years past in my life and he didn’t reach out that really took a toll on me. The absence of a parent, especially a father figure, can affect mental health in different ways. It can lead to feelings of abandonment, low self-esteem, and a sense of loss. These emotions can manifest as anxiety, depression, or difficulties in forming and maintaining relationships. It's important to recognize that everyone's experiences are unique, and the impact can vary from person to person.
In terms of beliefs, not having a father in your life may influence your perspective on family dynamics, trust, and the role of parental figures. It can shape my understanding of what it means to be a parent and the importance of being present for my own future family or loved ones. Regarding relationships, the absence of a father can affect your ability to trust and form deep connections with others. It may also influence my expectations and standards for relationships, as well as impact my ability to navigate conflicts or seek support.
However, it's important to note that these effects can be mitigated through personal growth, therapy, and building a support network of trusted individuals. In terms of career aspirations, not having a father figure present may impact my goals and ambitions. It can motivate me to strive for success and independence, as I may feel the need to prove yourself or create a better future for myself. On the other hand, it can also lead to feelings of uncertainty or lack of guidance in choosing a career path. However, remember that my aspirations are ultimately shaped by my own passions, interests, and values. It's important to prioritize my mental well-being and seek support if needed.
Consider talking to a trusted friend, family member, or professional counselor who can provide guidance and help you navigate the emotions and challenges that arise from not having your father in your life. Remember, you are not defined solely by the absence of your father. My experiences and resilience can shape me into a strong and compassionate individual. Keep exploring my interests, nurturing my relationships, and pursuing my dreams. I have the power to create my own path and build a fulfilling life, regardless of the circumstances.
As for my career aspirations, my experience with mental health has played a significant role in shaping my path. It has ignited a passion within me to work in a field where I can make a positive impact on the lives of others. Whether it's through counseling, therapy, advocacy, or research, I want to contribute to the betterment of mental health resources and support systems. I believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care, and I want to be a part of making that a reality.
In conclusion, my experience with mental health has influenced my beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations in profound ways. It has taught me the importance of prioritizing mental well-being, challenging stigmas, and advocating for open conversations. It has allowed me to develop deeper empathy and understanding in my relationships, and it has fueled my passion to make a positive impact in the field of mental health. I'm grateful for the lessons I've learned, and I'm excited to continue growing and contributing to the conversation surrounding mental health.

Top Watch Newsletter Movie Fanatics Scholarship
If I could only watch one movie for the rest of my life I would say Princess Tiana, and it would be because of the beautiful story it tells and the inspiring character of Tiana herself. First of all, Princess Tiana is a part of the Disney movie "The Princess and the Frog." This film stands out because it features Disney's first African-American princess, which is a significant milestone in representation and diversity. Tiana is a hardworking and determined young woman who dreams of opening her restaurant. Her dedication and perseverance in pursuing her goals are truly inspiring. When I was younger I used to wish I would be like her when I grew up to be as dedicated as her.
The movie is set in the vibrant city of New Orleans, and the animation beautifully captures the lively atmosphere and rich culture of the city. The music in The Princess and the Frog is also fantastic, with catchy tunes that blend jazz, blues, and gospel. The songs not only enhance the storytelling but also add a lot of fun and energy to the film. One of the reasons I would choose to watch Princess Tiana for the rest of my life is because of the positive messages it conveys. The film emphasizes the importance of hard work, determination, and staying true to oneself.
Tiana's journey teaches us that dreams can come true if we believe in ourselves and are willing to put in the effort to make them happen. Another aspect that makes "Princess Tiana" special is the way it explores the theme of love. The movie shows that love can come in different forms, whether it's love between friends, family, or a romantic relationship. It reminds us of the power of love and the impact it can have on our lives. Furthermore, Princess Tiana challenges traditional gender roles and stereotypes. Tiana is a strong and independent character who doesn't need a prince to save her. Instead, she takes charge of her own destiny and works hard to achieve her dreams. This representation of a strong, ambitious, and self-reliant princess is empowering and breaks away from the traditional princess narrative.
Lastly, the animation in Princess Tiana is stunning. The attention to detail, vibrant colors, and fluid movements bring the characters and the world they inhabit to life. The visual beauty of the film adds to the overall enchantment and makes it a joy to watch. In conclusion, if I had to choose to watch Princess Tiana for the rest of my life, it would be because of its inspiring story, positive messages, diverse representation, memorable music, and stunning animation.

One challenge that has been haunting me for several years is the fact my father is not in my life even though he is still alive. I remember being a kid and we would go to water parks and go sledding when it was snowing using a top to a tote. It just hurt that he acted the way he did to end in this outcome because I feel like it hurt me more than once. One way that I overcame this challenge was by writing in a journal. It wasn't a physical journal but it was the notes app on my phone. I was able to look back on how I felt and let it all out. Although I wasn't able to talk to my family members about it I was able to share how I felt with my best friend since we were going through a similar situation.
Another challenge that I've recently gone through was moving to a new school in the middle of my senior year. When I first found out my first thought was "Who am I going sit with at lunch?!" When I had to leave my friends and start fresh at a new school, it was a huge adjustment. I focused on being open to new experiences and making an actual effort to connect with others in my classroom. It took time, but gradually I formed new friendships here and there and found my place. One way I overcame this challenge is that the school gave me a student guide and ever since then I've been with her and her friends so It kind of worked out in my favor.
Financially it was just me my mother and little brother. We are currently a low-income family and are enrolled in the housing assistance program to help with our living. I don't want to go too much into detail for my mom's sake but this scholarship would mean the world to both me and my mother. This scholarship would be beneficial for my pharmacy career pathway. It will help provide financial means to access a quality education and resources that help me. It would help alleviate the burden of my tuition fees, book fees, and student housing. I am a young lady looking forward to her bright future and leaving the past behind. I've been involved in cheerleading, The Black Student Union, Swimming, the Senior Committee, the yearbook, and the American Sign Language Club. One class I love so much is art because when drawing I can release how I feel and spread my wings. I spend most of my time working, going to school, helping take care of my brother, and doing scholarships. I plan on going into Chemistry to pursue a career in the pharmacy filed. I made this decision based on what I think will fit me best. I would love to be in the medical filed but I think certain things like seeing inside a body won't last me a day in other careers.
One of my hoobies that I love so much is drawing well art in general.I remember when I picked up a colored pencil, the vibrant colors and the rough texture of the pencil transported me to a world of nothing but creativity. When I dipped my brush into the paint the intoxicating aroma in the classroom air stimulated my inner childhood and passion for art. Although my career pathway has nothing to do with art, I find it as a passion of mine that engages a lot of my attention. For example my sophomore year back in the classroom from the quarantine break. I took an art class as my elective not knowing what I was getting into. When I first stepped into the classroom it just brightened my spirit to see all of the paintings on the walls, the paint stacked on the shelves, and the aprons with paint on them setting that creative aesthetic.
We had our first huge project in that class and I was so excited. We were able to use whatever materials we wanted and I chose colored pencils. We had to recreate a picture in little boxes and each box had to be a different color and a different pattern but the result would have to look like a portrait. I put so much time into this project it almost had me in tears about how good it turned out. I would even go over the time because I got so carried away.
Art grabs my attention because I love a lot of color although as my grandma would say “You like going to a funeral all the time” because I wear a lot of black. I find it fascinating how there are so many genres of art, especially the ones that have meaning behind them. For example, the Last Supper painting has so many meanings behind it and that's what amazes me. Although I was only able to take art one time out of my four years of high school I have carried that knowledge for the rest and applied it to each of my classes.
Thank you for taking the time to read my essay about how I love art so much and have a great day!

Being a new student mid-senior year and adapting to my new school has been one of my significant achievements to date. It took courage, resilience, and the ability to navigate unfamiliar territory. I have learned new valuable life skills such as adaptability, making new friends, and finding my place in a new environment.
This experience taught me about my strengths and ability to handle challenges. It wasn't easy for me to grow out of my comfort zone, but by doing so I've shown great determination and growth. Adapting to my new school provided me with new opportunities for personal development. They have a wider range of new interests, clubs, and organizations that my old school didn't have. embracing this change demonstrates my willingness to embrace new experiences and make the most out of my senior year. As I continue finishing off my high school journey, I will remember to be proud of myself for taking on this challenge. It's an achievement that showcases my skills and ability to adapt to new situations promptly. As I keep embracing my new opportunities, staying true to myself, and pursuing my passions. I've never felt so accomplished to show off my work until then. I want to let people know that it's okay to share your work with others and not be scared. I hope this will help people be more open with each other and create an atmosphere of friendliness. When I think of art I see beautiful smiles and butterflies. I hope that one day I can create an art group to make people well welcomed.

P.S. I would love to send more artwork that I have at home.

I am an African-American young lady looking forward to her bright future and leaving the past behind. I am involved in cheerleading, swimming, the Black Student Union, the senior committee, the yearbook, and the American Sign Language Club. I did various volunteering experiences such as Cradles to Crayons where I helped and donated clothes for children. I participated in the Peace Rally that happened in downtown Chicago. At the rally, we peacefully protested for peace all around the world. One of my favorite classes of my whole high school career would have to be art. I felt free in that class because I felt like I was able to spread my creativity like the wings of a bird. I enjoyed experimenting and figuring out what works best.
This was because I was a shy child who lacked confidence, and motivation within her home. I was going through a lot with my parents with court and things which took a toll on me. I hope that what I went through in the past years will not affect my achievements in the future.
This scholarship would be beneficial for my pharmacy career pathway. It will help provide financial means to access a quality education and resources that help me. It would help alleviate the burden of my tuition fees, book fees, and student housing. This scholarship will allow me to focus on my studies to become a pharmacist especially since a pharmacy degree can be costly. I will fully immerse myself in my academic studies and gain the knowledge and skills necessary for success in my future career. This support will empower me to achieve my career aspirations and positively impact my community by serving them. In addition, this scholarship will offer opportunities that I would never think of for networking, internships, and research experiences. This will allow me to be a top candidate for my pharmacy job and help me look forward to pursuing my dream. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my application!

Bulchand and Laxmi Motwani Memorial Scholarship
One significant challenge I faced was balancing my academic studies with work, home responsibilities, and extracurricular activities. It was tough to manage my time effectively and still maintain good grades while participating in cheerleading, BSU, The Senior Commite, ASU, and the yearbook club. One of the main obstacles I ran into was the limited amount of time I had for myself. Especially since I'm in the International Baccalaureate Programme I rarely get a break to myself. Although it was a struggle over time I was able to develop resilience by creating a set schedule for myself prioritizing my tasks and seeking help from my teachers when needed. I wanted to be able to participate in other activities that brought joy into my life that kept me from being locked up in my room all the time but I always wanted to stay on top of my grades also. Even though I was scheduling out my life I ran into so many conflicts within that. Sometimes a lot of my extracurricular activities would overlap with each other so I would cut the time in half to make sure I attend both. These challenges taught me that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. It allowed me to learn how to effectively prioritize and use time management. I was also able to wiser decisions that aligned with my goals. I made sure to make realistic goals so I knew that it would be possible for me to achieve them and I learned to say no when needed. Finding my balance in all of this was the main thing that helped me succeed academically, and enhance determination, resilience and personal growth. I have gained valuable skills like time management, prioritization, and adaptability which are all essential for my pursuit of a career in pharmacy. This personal experience has made me realize that Pharmacy is something I see myself pursuing in the future. My healthy ways of balancing inside and outside the classroom show that I will be able to maintain my long-term success in this career path. My experience will build me to be a well-rounded pharmacist and help me thrive in the healthcare environment. I want to be just as important to others when it comes to making the best decisions for their health. Especially with my mother suffering from migraines if I could find her something that would help strongly with them that would mean the world to me.
New Kids Can Scholarship
In the middle of my senior year is when I officially gained the tittle "the new kid"... This is was both exciting and frustrating for me because I was in the middle of so many things such as cheerleading and getting ready for my senior night, Black Student Union as I was vice president and getting ready to go on our trip to D.C and much more.
This was big changed for me in so many ways... such as the environment and diversity. I do feel like this change will present opportunities for personal growth. I hope to embrace my experience for the next 4 months, stay positive and be open to new adventures. Although it barely been a month for me being at my new school I have a love and hate relationship with it. Their communication system is different from what I'm used to because instead of seeing everything in an email they upload int to their website and it can be frustrating when the website isn't updated.
Going into my new school joining a friend group that has already formed wasn't one of my goals because It can be intimidating especially for someone like me who's soft spoken. I did try to take initiative a little and introduced myself to some people while being friendly and showing my genuine interest in making new friendships. At this new school they do more group activities which was nerve recking for me because I'm more of a solo type of girl.
Although I transferred in the middle of senior year I still have big goals to become a pharmacist and I will not let being the new kid hinder my aspirations! Although the curriculum is very different from what I'm used to; my plan is to stay focus on my studies, seek guidance from teachers, colluders and college advisors that they offer and take advantage of any resources available to me that I didn't have before. I do feel like overall being the new kid will not shape my future but my determination and hard work will ultimately shape my future success.
To sum it up, being the new kid during the middle of my senior year did present some challenges mentally and academically, but it also offers opportunities that I wasn't presented to at my old school. They offer more personal growth and experiences that I've never had before. So now I am embracing the change, building friendships slowly in each of my classes, and staying focused on my main goal which is become successful in becoming a pharmacists.

Aserina Hill Memorial Scholarship
Well I am going to start of by saying that I am a International Baccalaureate Programme and I am the minority in my classes. I participate the Black Student Union because it is a place where I feel welcomed at school since I don't really feel like that in my classes. I'm also in the yearbook club where I help design the yearbook for the year. I'm also a cheerleader for my high school. I used to do competitive cheerleading which is where you compete against other teams and you perform with stunts, cheers and a dance. I also participated in the Senior committee club this year since I'm a senior.
In this committee we talk a lot about senior activities and spirit weeks and even the theme for prom. I for community involvement we have to do this thing called CAS (creativity, activity, service) for the International Baccalaureate Programme. This includes basically all of my services such as cleaning up outside and volunteering at Cradles to Crayons. Cradles to Crayons is an organization where they collect clothes and give them out to children who needs them.
After high-school I plan on either going to a community college first if I don't receive enough money to go to a 4-year college because I don't want to have the burden of paying off loans. I do want to go out of state for college just to get the experiences of travel and living on my own away from family for a few just to see if I would like to stay in my state for the rest of my life. I do plan on going to college for either chemistry, biochemistry or if they have the actual program I would do the PharmD major because I would like to become a pharmacist.
If I could start my own charity I would like to empower age underprivileged youth through mentorship and education. I would like to serve children and teenagers from low-income backgrounds, providing them with resources, support and opportunities to thrive.
I would like for my volunteers to play a crucial role in my charity. They can help assist with tutoring and academic support, not only that but I would like to teach things that schools don't often teach such as about credit, loans and the stock market because those are things I wish we would've talked about especially the stock market. They can serve as mentors, providing guidance encouragement and acting ad positive role models for the young individuals I plan on serving. Additionally volunteers could organize workshops and activities. I don't want everything to just be educational because It's good to have some fun too ice now days you can't go outside and just enjoy the weather much.
My aim and goal is to break the cycle of poverty and provide the young individuals with the tools they need to succeed. When we unite I want to make a difference and create a brighter future for the next generation.
Hester Richardson Powell Memorial Service Scholarship
As a young lady who doesn't get out the house much, I don't have much personal experience on this topic. But I can definitely share some memory that I do have of me demonstrating resilience to inspire others.
One way I show resilience is by overcoming challenges and set backs thrown at me especially in the International Baccalaureate Program. Within this program I face many difficult situations like the huge workload that I'm not used to or, being the African American in my class, being the minority of the whole school in general. Instead of giving up, I stay determined to keep pushing forward. I adapt to my approach and seek support form my International Baccalaureate coordinator, counselors and sometimes teachers and continue to work hard to achieve my International Baccalaureate Diploma. This kind of perseverance and resilience can inspire others to do the same when faced with their own challenges especially when coming from a place where many people around me don't do the things that I do.
Another way I demonstrated resilience is by bouncing back from failure or disappointment. My mother always told me no matter what you go through or no matter how hard it gets it doesn't matter as long as you bounce back even harder from it. Because life is full of ups and downs and its how we handles those downs that really7 affect our future and who we are as a person. I always tell myself do not let the down affect who you are as person and define who you are. I like to learn from my downs and grow stronger and use that experience to fuel my future success as a Black Pharmacists. I am proud to say that my name will be Doctor D. aka Doctor Despenza. But by sharing my story of resilience and how I turned my setbacks into bigger and better opportunities, I will like to inspire other high schools students to keep going and never give up even when times are hard. Thats also what I've been doing to try to teach my little brother. Since he's only 8 now he tends to give up and I want to be a leader and show him that giving up is not always the answer. I like keep maintain a positive mindset in my household because they tend to be negative all the time and I don't want my little brother to end up like that too.
Disney Channel Rewind Scholarship
If I could bring together two of my favorite Disney Channel shows I would choose "That's So Raven" and "Kim Possible." The episode would be called "Raven and Kim's Time-Twisting Mission!" Because I feel like it matches them both.
In this exciting storyline, Raven Baxter from "That's So Raven" and Kim Possible would team up to solve a mysterious time-traveling problem. It all starts when Kim's arch-nemesis, Dr. Drakken, gets his hands on a powerful time-travel device. He plans to alter the past and change the future to his advantage. Raven, with her psychic visions, senses the disturbance in the timeline and contacts Kim for help. Together, they embark on a thrilling adventure through different time periods, from ancient Egypt to the future. Along the way, they encounter various challenges and obstacles that test their skills and friendship. But don't worry, Raven senses the disturbance in the timeline and reaches out to Kim for some backup. Together, they embark on this wild adventure through different time periods, like ain’t the Bahamas. Along the way, they face all sorts of challenges and obstacles that really put their skills and friendship to the test.
As they navigate through time, Raven's psychic abilities and Kim's espionage skills prove to be a formidable combination. They use their unique talents to outsmart Dr. Drakken and his henchmen, while also learning valuable lessons about teamwork, trust, and embracing their own strengths. With each jump through time, the two shows' signature humor and wit shine through, creating hilarious and heartwarming moments. The episode explores the importance of embracing who you are and using your abilities to make a positive impact on the world. Now, picture this: with each jump through time, the shows' signature humor and wit shine through, creating these hilarious and heartwarming moments. You'll be cracking up one minute and feeling all warm and fuzzy the next. Plus, the episode really hammers home the idea that it's important to be true to yourself and use your own talents to make a positive impact on the world.
In the end, Raven and Kim save the day, restoring the timeline to its rightful order. They say their goodbyes, but not before promising to hit each other up whenever a new adventure comes their way. Because let's face it, these two are a dynamic duo that can't be stopped! They’re like sisters from different mothers who would do anything for each other. So, that's the scoop on my dream Disney Channel crossover episode.
Spider-Man Showdown Scholarship
Let me tell you why Tom Holland is my favorite Spider-Man actor. First of all, Tom Holland perfectly captures the essence of Spider-Man's youthful and energetic spirit. He brings a fresh and modern take on the character, making him relatable to a whole new generation of fans. Tom's portrayal of Peter Parker is filled with a sense of innocence, humor, and vulnerability, which adds depth to the character and makes him more human.
One of the reasons why I love Tom Holland as Spider-Man is his incredible athleticism and acrobatic skills. He performs many of his own stunts, which adds an extra layer of authenticity to the action scenes. Watching him swing through the city, flip, and tumble with such agility is truly impressive and adds to the excitement of the movies. Another aspect that sets Tom Holland apart is his chemistry with the other characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Liv For The Future Scholarship
Every day, I strive to exemplify leadership by being a good listener to my peers, taking initiative, and hopefully inspiring others through my actions and words. Usually, I don't like to take charge of situations but I will do it to help everyone sussed. Whether this is at school, work, or within my community I always look for opportunities to step up and make a positive impact that will do good for everyone. I'm not going to say that every day I am such a positive person because everyone has their days but I do try to be a positive influence and help others to grow. This is why I participate in after-school activities since I can't do much during school hours. The activities I've participated in are Cheerleading, Black Student Union, Yearbook, American Sign Language, and Senior Committee. I've also helped out at the Cradles to Crayons here which is an organization that gives away clothes to kids at shelters or even the ones who are just not as fortunate. The second organization I helped out at is the International Peace Day rally here downtown. I helped gather some students to help make posters and assigned people to hold flags during the presentation. We also wrote positive messages on sticky notes and tapped them on a poster board to present them on the wall across from the cafeteria. The reason I decided to do ASL is because at my job there was a deaf lady and I wasn't able to properly communicate with her which is why I'm making an effort to learn sign language so that everyone at my job can feel valuable matter the situation. I believe in the power of effective communication and collaboration because it is best to have more than one brain when making decisions by actively listening to others and valuing their perspectives, I can help create an environment where everyone can feel heard and valued. I strive to lead by example especially for my little brother since he's always saying how he wants to be "as smart" as I am. I like to embody qualities such as dedication, integrity, and a positive attitude inside and outside of the classroom. I feel like these actions exemplify leadership because they tend to inspire others to do their best and create a ripple effect or an ongoing effect of leadership. Thank you for taking the time to read what I have to say!
Sean Kelly Memorial Scholarship
I am an African-American young lady who is looking forward to her bright future and leaving the past behind. I currently am involved in cheerleading, the Black Student Union, the senior committee, the yearbook, and the American Sign Language club. One of my favorite classes of my whole high school career would have to be art. I felt free in that class because I felt like I was able to spread my creativity like the wings of a bird. I enjoyed experimenting and figuring out what works best. I spend most of my time at school during the weekdays and the weekends at work. I love being creative and working with others who are just as ambitious as me. In my earlier stage of life, I’ve struggled with confidence and motivation. As I got older I started to realize the importance of my education and how I actually belong here. I have always been a scholar and have maintained my grades since I was in elementary school. Of course, sometimes I would slack as a younger child with presentations and group work but overall I was a hardworking person. This was because I was a shy child who lacked confidence and motivation within her home. I was going through a lot with my parents with court and things which really took a toll on me. I hope that what I went through in the past years will not affect my achievements in the future. This scholarship would be beneficial for my pharmacy career pathway. It will help provide financial means to access a quality education and resources that will help me. It would help alleviate the financial burden of my tuition fees, book fees, and student housing. This scholarship will allow me to focus on my studies of becoming a pharmacist especially since a pharmacy degree can be quite costly. I will be able to fully immerse myself in my academic studies and gain the knowledge and skills necessary for success in my future career. This support will empower me to achieve my career aspirations and positively impact my community by serving them.
