Bio

Hello, my name is Jacorey Mitchell, I’m a class of 2014 graduate and I’m a part of the Fraser Alumni. I have worked for 10 yrs and struggled like any other person. I have unpolished skills in welding that I could see myself using those skills to build a healthy career and maintain a bright future. As a child, I tutored kids as a part of the math academy, so even as a sap, education is a passion of mine. I can’t continue on any path by neglecting my education, at 25 without continuing to pursue my education I feel like my future may be bleak. A feel like a man should feel as sharp as the next, shouldn’t it be “who is the chef ?” and “who is the butter knife?“ my mannerisms may be out of the equation but I know I can build back better. There’s no better way to feel other than God’s Child. “ yakou miyashita” (I love you ) - Cherokee

    Ms. Susy’s Disney Character Scholarship
My favorite Disney character is Goofy. Yes, the old clumsy witty character. Goofy won my heart as a child because I could relate to him. I can say I love Goofy and joy he brings families from all over the world. Goofy was created in 1932 by Mr. Walt Disney. And the reason for that is that Goofy with long ears, his brown hat , and big smile. The silliness of goofy that brings to all is not just what he says, but the way he walks, talks and even the clothes he wears their either too big or just extra big. Goofy as silly he can be his intentions are always good, one of the caught phrases that I like is “At What Time is the 3 PM Parade? " Goofy was born to the idea of Mr. Walt Disney just like the other characters let’s not forget goofy is about 6 feet tall. Goofy with his innocent look and willingness to help others in a different way. His heart is always in the best interest of anyone around him. If you hear goofy talk, his voice alone is funny his manners are silly. The story is not just of a man called Disney but what he develops, yes he has made other characters like Mickey mouse the most popular character around. For me the most popular cartoon character is Goofy. Let me share a few with you Goofy’s original name was Dippy Dawg. Then in later years, it became “Dippy the Goof” and then eventually just “Goofy”. Mr. Disney was not just a visionary but enjoyed seeing his kids and others enjoy what he made Goofy transformed others with his antics and silliness with a wonderful feeling inside. Ok, we are not kids, but when I go to Disney I turn back in time to enjoy every day looking for Goofy and his friends. Disney has a special place for me and my family and I see it in others that are there.
    Mental Health Importance Scholarship
I am attending Macomb Community College for welding technology, and I am aware that mental health awareness is everything in this country. My mental health has affected my work, my life, and the overall course of my education. I lost my father in 2011 and growing up without him I have decided long ago not to allow his aliments and passing to define or effect my future. One thing I know is that he would be proud to see me declare my major and love to see the work I get to do. That’s why I decided to take care of my mental health and not allow personal opinions of myself to affect who I want to be and who I’m becoming. Loving the man, I’m going to become alone is enough for me to continue throughout my journey of loving myself. Jacorey Mitchell the welder may be a man you may not know but those who have witnessed what the man can do would appreciate what I do in the world no matter how little someone may think of it or how big. Being one man is all I can do, being one man is enough to change the world piece by piece changing the spirits of the world, that’s how I can move my community. Amongst us are a grandeur tumultuous number of outside disturbances and just try to tune those things out. Once I am comfortable with the life I live I’ll invest in myself and take the time to be the best welder and climb ranks. I only want to be the best welder I can be, and I believe in myself. The amount of time it takes to be the best person you can be is well worth it. Finally, the relationships I’ll build in college may teach me lessons and give me relationships I may cherish for the rest of my life. Dr. Samuel Attoh Legacy Scholarship
My name is Jacorey Mitchell. The future of my legacy, well only time can tell. But I want my future to be as forgiving and uplifting for many years to come. My life holds so much promise I want to continue to trend in the right direction. Being a young man with an urban upbringing isn’t the worst. I like to shed light on urban problems and continue to shed light on things that people have not thought to shed light on. Money isn’t everything to have life take a toll on you, a life change is just enough to show yourself greener pastures. I ask myself “What do you take pride in “, and “What do you cherish?”. I take pride in the work that I do, and I cherish the time that I have because all of it matters. Seemingly, being an urban kid gets you as far as you want to go, it takes hard work, and I am not the one to ditch the effort. Going forward I plan to continue and live by what I preach. Taking the time to gather yourself and collect the right reinsuring things in life is all that you need to flourish in life. I grew up in Pontiac, Michigan and I am as intelligent as they come and only interested in uplifting myself and others. Breaking the cycles in the world of addiction, abuse, and neglect is what I care about and that’s what drives me. If we can’t break those cycles in the world then what matters, that’s why I want to earn my degree. The hard work it takes to be somebody in this world is all that I have and is necessary for me to take my life to the next level. Do I have what it takes to be successful in this lifetime? because I believe I can make something out of nothing. Finally, my coursework should be able to take me to the next level because only I can thwart my success. God is a restorer and my faith in God is so strong, I believe in the people in this world that fight their share of addiction, demons, and past traumas. With all things assuring, my faith in God helps me continue and I want him to continue to bless me. Down those lines of education, I hope that those in school continue to fortify their knowledge.

Robert F. Lawson Fund for Careers that Care
Careers that care, there’s a multitude of people who extend their gratitude to help others. Our country sculpted a strong community and brandished a guaranteed model of success for those who followed. Role models are irreplaceable for those who take command won’t lead you wrong, takes a man to separate yourself from the insubordinate. My respect goes above and beyond those who make sacrifices for other people and come home to their family at end of the day like an ordinary person, to sum it up, my definition of sacrifice might not be at your Applebee’s. I honor soldiers, firefighters, our law enforcement who lay their lives on the line to protect our constitution and the borders of our community. If you asked of me, I would dedicate my life to being the best person I can be for the country. We can honor lives but for those who’ve, we’ve lost we can’t forget those sacrifices as that man would much rather be at that next tiger’s game with the love of his life. If you don’t bow, I’ll bow to honor what sacrifice stands for, I’ll be the first to tell you as Bank Teller I haven’t made any if there have been soldiers that haven’t made it home their families. I haven’t made any sacrifices because as a man there’s no comparison to that soldier sacrifice and no greater honor, I can extend but to bow. As I hang my head on everything I want to accomplish in life, I will tell you that sacrifices are how you become that role model. Secondly, I might add teachers is who I look up to because I do not care who they are off campus because who they are first is an educator, parent, husband, or wife, I can’t fathom a thought from kindergarten to 12 th grade they’ll make my educators last admirable. Fraser Public Schools had the biggest impact on my life and if I can love I would love them more. Before I say what, my impact might be on the world, I want to recognize those who came before me to tell them that your impact is stronger than they imagine, and I’ll be the first to tell you. I want my impact on this world to inspire my nieces to reach for the stars now that I know the sky is the limit, to let my sister know she’s not alone in this world, and to show that I want to give everything I have to offer in life. I know love is the biggest impact that can reach every county, every city, every state, something that should spread amongst the world.

My father inspired me to go to trade school. Watching him work on our church growing up was monumental to me. He made his mark in this work doing something that would last years after he passed away. He put up church benches, laid out the carpet on the pulpit, and stained new hardwood floors that church shoes would stomp on. Being raised with hard work, dedication, and respect was left behind in that church, no questions asked just humble man that wanted to help the church that my mother was raised in, Memorial Tabernacle. The church floors were warned and tattered. It was time to refurbish the halls that we marched in. The stained-glass plains were still beautiful. In addition to his hard work, little bitty old me was there to help and left a good mental note of my father’s true heart and feelings towards people and revealed how he was when it came to helping others in his community. Sister Suzie couldn’t do anything but smile and thank him with the rest of the church-going members. With the heat that summer it could’ve been anybody’s duty. Something we didn’t take for granted but the big guy didn’t shy away from the challenge, it’s something he had experience doing. He once told me that worked on constructing a mall before and that he was a hard hat, but he wasn’t hardheaded. We sanded the floors and stained hardwood floors with a strong finish, there was new bright scarlet red carpet I have nailed down to the pulpit area. Remarkably the church turned out to be great like he said it would with every bit of his assurance. We had so many dinners, activities, and family moments there. What compares to Sunday service? After your father built the church up and you get to walk through those church doors with him. My mind was blown it was my first hands-on activity as a young man and he gave me responsibility for tasks. Luckily, we had breaks and got great food in between the work grind but we were grinding. All was worth the wait, the nice touches on the family church restored by the two of us, they were lucky to have us. The lesson that I learned is that hard work is rewarded with time and patience. Yes , there I was patient and everything turned out phenomenal. But factually that’s what made me want to earn a degree in Business. It’s the best lifestyle for me. Working with my father instilled a work ethic nobody ever had. To me having a degree in welding technology possibilities are endless. Calls for more church-going memories, more parties, and more loving thy neighbor. Leaving enough said just an iconic representation of dedication and hard work. My legacy going forth is to continue that dedication and hard work. There is no comparison. Church floors stained, church carpet laid, and church benches put up was the most iconic thing I witnessed him do. That’s what inspired me to pick up a trade. If I earned this scholarship, I would use the money I saved to pay for my tuition for my B.A in Business. My favorite subject is math. Earning my degree would be everything to me to continue and strive for greatness, He was a great role model, a great father, and a great provider. He is my hero and I wish I could change how the world looked at Black African American fathers.

Church floors stained, church carpet laid, and church benches put up was the most iconic thing I witnessed him do. That’s what inspired me to pick up a trade. If I earned this scholarship, I would use the money I saved to pay for my tuition for my B.A in Business. My favorite subject is math. 10 years from now I should have my degree in business and should be able to purchase my dream house. Earning my degree would be everything to continue and strive for greatness, I could be a great role model, a great father, and a great provider. Welding is everything to me from a hobby to a profession. In the next 10 years, a scholarship may just be what I need to take my family to the next level. What I value most in people is their dedication to their craft. Hard work and dedication is all need to get where I want to be. In fact, hard work and dedication are traits we all don’t possess. Showing up to work on time religiously, meeting the goals that you’ve set for yourself, and earning your place in this world. I possess a multitude of these traits. A man dedicated to his work is dedicated to his family .

I am attending Macomb Community College for welding technology, and I am aware that mental health awareness is everything in this country. My mental health has affected my work, my life, and the overall course of my education. I lost my father in 2011 and growing up without him I have decided long ago not to allow his aliments and passing to define my affect my future. In addition, I love the man that I’m becoming knowing that my future isn’t set in stone. All the effort and time I put towards bettering myself will all be worth it in the long run. I was born and raised in Detroit, and I know that the man that I am, has a bigger impact to make on our nation. I’ll be the one to stand and say that my story isn’t finished and I am ready for the next chapter. Amongst us are people waiting to make an impact in this world and I stand with them. When I am in college the relationships that I have forged may be important to take my career to the next level and I am looking forward to having a bigger brighter future. Students for Animal Advocacy Scholarship
I am passionate about animal advocacy because I believe in ending all suffering for animals. I believe charges should be filed against the animal abusers. The organizations that protect animals from neglect, abuse, and shelter homeless animals are a wonderful field. I support these organizations. Being all for the movement to build skills for people working in the industry who want support. Organizations are doing a lot to train members within their organization. The foundation of systematic solutions to help these animals are pushing forward. I am all for these people who want to help animals around the world. They are millions of dogs that need homes. In fact, these animal shelters save animals from hoarding, abandonment, and neglect. Seeing these animals with ailments being neglected is heartbreaking. Checking on the welfare of these animals is needed that’s why we have animal control. Groups like PETA needs these donations so they can maintain their reach across the nation. Animals are with us not for us. Dogs are man’s best friends, but we must make sure that they are taken care of properly and not mistreated. If you have tremendous compassion for animals, you will love what PETA stands for. People for the ethical treatment of animals is one of the greatest organizations known to man. Animals have feelings. If someone doesn’t have innate compassion for animals and doesn’t extend their compassion to others should just have an open mind and a kind heart. This country should be animal cruelty-free no testing should b done on animals. This country can be more vegan friendly with more menu options for vegans across the country. Their compassion for animals should be more understood. Animal advocates are keeping animals safe because dogs are out in the cold, and they need to be protected all because they have fur coats doesn’t mean they don’t get cold. We need to look after our pets like our neighbors and friends it is important to be kind to our pets. Let us mend those broken abused pets’ spirits when we know their lives can be better. I take a stand with animal advocates as a pet lover because in the future I don’t want animals to suffer, and we can find these animals homes. If we raise money for these animals the vets can take care of them medically and fewer animals can suffer in this country. Let us love more.

My father passed when I was 15. When my father passed away, I was in awe, I never knew that could happen to me at such a young age. My father was the one pushing me in school. After he has passed it was my mother pushing me in school. The year he passed away my grades started to slip as I was engaging with other students. I was an honor roll student and my grades have never been bad. Losing my father was catastrophic it wasn’t a distraction. I was at loss for a million words. I could yet figure out what I was going to do educationally. Although my mother stepped up and played my father’s role, I was going threw it emotionally, but I was able to still push forward. Pushing forward wasn’t the only thing I had to prepare for the real world, my mother handled everything even when she had a son that’s autistic. Everything that I had put forth that year was in motion; I was ready to continue learning. My education means so much to me not having my father around at that moment and time was enough to kill my fighting spirit. I used to wake myself up for school thinking I couldn’t be the only one who feels this void but still wanted to be successful. My mom purchased book bags, school supplies, clothes you name it. After my father passed away, I started working at Art Van to earn some extra cash. It was my junior year; I was my senior year shy away from trying to be everything I wanted to be. Two years have passed and working while going to school and trying to play sports was tough enough. I didn’t know what to expect from my senior year. Lastly, my mother just wanted to me graduate so I can proceed and try my best at being successful we already struggled financially. I wish my senior year I knew exactly what I wanted to be because now I wanted to be a welder who majors in architectural design. At that point at the time, I didn’t know what I was going to be that’s why I dropped out of college. Now fast forward almost ten years, and I’m ready to be everything I want to be. To sum up, everything doesn’t ever give up. I wish I lived life like he never left my side.

When you overcome obstacles in life, you set another bar. A time when obstacles were affecting my life, times like now where I can’t quite put a finger on it. Times get hard and they are getting gets tough that’s when I figured it was time for me to go back to school. Not having my financial aid approved was hard on me so I decided to roll the dice on scholarships and picked up a job in case I had to pay out of pocket. All in all, I prepare myself for anything, sometimes even the worst. Preparing for the worst-case scenario just gears me in the right direction to handle a situation if there was a mishap. In other words, I just have my priorities in order. When I prioritize my fall 2022 semester my classes should be paid for even if I must pay for them since I don’t have cosigners for loans, I’ll just put together a fund. My funds of course are being put towards college. I’m being adult enough to know that I’m going back to school to educate myself, find a new career path, and get my share in the competitive wage market. Those are all goals I have set for myself. To humbly put it, I feel like I display leadership by putting my priorities first and realizing what I must do to stay ahead in life. Furthermore, in my universe, there is no giving up or giving in. The goals that I have set for myself are attainable and are in the arm’s reach of me and I’ll be sure to seize the opportunity to do good in school to earn my financial aid back. To easily put it just positivity orbits around my soul not allowing distractions to disturb my inner peace. Instead of giving up and folding under pressure, I’m The Little Engine That Could. I never give up, there was a time I had managers move their jobs and I was left with a team without managers I did not fold under pressure, I succeeded in my feats. Not only did I succeed I was recognized for my hard work and dedication. My hard work and dedication are everything to me, it means a lot to get what you put in and I was recognized. Just keep your head up, keep pushing, and look forward to greener pastures the grass is greener on the other side.

In addition to his hard work, little bitty old me was there to help and left a good mental note of my father’s true heart and feelings towards people and revealed how he was when it came to helping others in his community. Sister couldn’t do anything but smile and thank him with the rest of the church-going members. But factually that’s what made me want to earn a degree in Welding Technology.

How have I been an active leader in my community? We have neighborhood watch so as far as that goes I stood up and engaged in those activities. My neighborhood is free of threats. Engaging in neighborhood watch is important. Neighborhood watch is one of those things where you are engaging in preventing criminal activity. Preventing criminal activity before it happens is just before it happens is right up my alley. One thing about my neighborhood is that it has been shooting with fatalities and that’s something you want to keep down in our neighborhood Shooting if ever encountered a stranger in a hostile situation, you don’t even need a gun just call 911. We could decrease our murder rate so fast if our community just came together. If our community joined arms and recognized everything that is abnormal, we can have a lot of dangerous people in prison because they should have no power outside of prison. I feel like felons who are trying to turn their life around and protect their families can be a part of neighborhood watch. If you want to protect your family from danger, why wouldn’t engage in neighborhood activities? I have seen so much with my own eyes; I don’t trust people. Neighborhood watch could give police officers tips on near life and death threats to the community. Anything in order to prevent any more fatalities. Police Officers shouldn’t have any cold cases, as soon as one is open that case should never go cold. If you shot at somebody you should turn yourself in because how can you live with yourself, how can live knowing what you could’ve done to another innocent person. If nobody pointing a gun in your face, what are you doing pointing guns in another young man’s face? If you haven’t spoken to that man other, what are you doing taking that man’s life? How I feel about neighborhood watch is how feel about the war on drugs, I am on the law enforcement side. My mental is affected by how my family treats me but other than that I have a good mind. My mind so I’ll rather be by myself. That’s why neighborhood watch is important, your mental health is good if you want to see more women leave felons and go back to school. Your mental health is everything and before you think you’re crazy organize a criminal watch in your neighborhood to prevent homicides and drug dealing.

I wouldn't help a beaver build a dam. How are you real when you had a plate of green eggs and ham? Trying to say hi Uncle Sam I'm trying to make a couple thousand so I can tell his Auntie who I am. Trying to read the diary of a mad black woman so she can know this is who I am. Stain glass windowpanes gathered from the heart, church floors reminders of an aching heart. If you trusted me, it wouldn't tear us apart. If I placed the weight of the world on gods' shoulders, how would he let me down? Beseech the foul man, Beseech the foul man as you shall lock eyes with the beast. With his stomach in knots, " you foul Man, have yet suffered enough, thou shall lock eyes with the beast and garnish his trust, someone to depend on when you're down on your luck." He says, “yet no man can free me, they’ll scrape the jelly from thy bones, foul man I’ll beckon your soul I’m no noble, not even the poorest globs wouldn’t fancy these scraps.” He laughs. The foul man resembled a shell, yet I was the foul man don’t know if he was mocking me or tormented by his thoughts, the frail mad man. I could see his ribs touch the elasticity of his skin as the frail mad man hungered, he was yearning for freedom. “Lord has mercy on this frail man’s soul, blinded by his will, starvation is not deceitful, this frail man did nothing but disturb so.” He was after all just a shell. As the frail man rumbled it shook his shackles of freedom but was shackled like a heifer. A breath was the frail man’s only effort. The frail man was beseeched, though his blessings seemed out of reach mercy was brought upon him was green eggs and ham. Freedom was granted and his shackles from hunger was freed and the frail old man was no longer a slave to his belly . This poem was some writing I wrote not too long ago. What I was trying to do was mash them together. The beginning of the poem started one way then I wrote a story and I wanted it to have a rhyming rhythm to it. It was challenging. I would say give it a shot it’s an art. Green Eggs and ham Dungeon edition.

I have a business called DBULLETION. My ideas was inspired by Thrasher Magazine, the idea was to draw passion from music artist and skaters . Who knows if you’re a pro skater , who knows if you deserve a contract it’s only your true desire . Dbulletion never made a rise in social media but I have a plot . Local ads from inspiring entrepreneurs as if it’s was an ad section in the news paper adds from locals and you know where to find them , on Dbulletion, then on top of ads we are fueling the passion of skating with music , fashion , and urban culture. That’s was my idea and I wouldn’t mind learning how to build a social media handle into something more organized . I want a more useful and bigger platform then where I’m at now . My education would let me know if such an idea have opportunity for profit . If there is opportunities for me to make a profit I am just one of many with a desire to develop a social media handle . Now it’s a door and to unveil opportunities for Dbulletion is only to reveal the chances of it becoming successful. Potential probably little to zero , but it was one of my ideas . I’m passionate about business because ground zero is where you can constantly remind yourself when you started an idea then you grew from just notebook notes to something more organized.

“I think goals should never be easy, they should force you to work, even if they are uncomfortable at the time,” -Michael Phelps. My goals for the future are to finish my associate’s degree and continue to earn a bachelor’s and maybe even a master’s degree. 2022 continuing my education means everything to me. Continuing my education will lead to so many opportunities that I want, need, and deserve. We deserve every door that an organization wants to open for me. Part of my job currently is to seize every opportunity, hone my skills and own up to every challenge. Honing your skills is one thing but opening the door to new educational opportunities to learn something you never once thought that you needed to know. New educational lessons, passed down the knowledge, and I be it as the messenger I’m just reaching for the baton. I’m just waiting for my turn to be critiqued so I can better myself.
    Bold Science Matters Scholarship
“Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune, but great minds rise above them.” - Washington Irving Someone I admire in history is Isaac Newton, he discovered an apple that fell from a tree and penned down his theories of gravity. Isaac Newton’s theories of gravity developed his laws of motion equating to physics. His discovery helped us invent planes and space-age technology leading to endless discoveries , and new age transportation. He helped the Wright brothers invent the plane without the laws of gravity there would be no aerospace traffic. Isaac Newton also discovered the Galapagos Islands where he researched different species of animals that were like animals in the Americas. Started with just an apple falling from the tree which led to his long line of scientific theories that still hit home today. Isaac Newton’s greatest discovery was gravity because it was just the beginning of physics and the discovery of other things like the laws of motion. That is my favorite scientific discovery.
    Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
Something that has changed my perspective in life has been childhood traumas. That’s what I love about life, I engorge myself in the exemplary side of education and indulge in the most involved activities. I strive to be a part of something, I work to achieve things in the long run then I’m ready to take on challenges when I’m already out of the ballpark. I learned that if you are impacted by trauma, it is what you absorb from those traumas and what you continue to learn from them moving forward. From my experience I live, learn, ad let go. I have 3 L’s and I still don’t count my losses; life isn’t a losing fight but maybe an uphill battle. From that perspective alone I feel the need to prevail. I changed my total perspective on life, I feel like the best days are ahead. I don’t feel like giving in and giving up is not an option that’s why I feel the need to continue my education
    Bold Deep Thinking Scholarship
The biggest problem our country is faced with is power balance and duty allocation. In our nation, everyone should know their role and place in this world, because the amount of importance of one person cannot be taken for granted. The significance of DTE, Railroad companies, and water treatment facilities are unsurmountable. We can work together to sustain our economy; we can cover all our bases in our countries these careers for one man is a home run. The amount of pride one man takes in his job is enough nobility to be a proud American. The meek shall be humble, there is no amount of gratification that will allow me to disrespect another man. The proud shall stand and continue to bless our country. Unemployment is one of the biggest problems we have in our country, and we can solve that. The number of felons in our country can be reduced and we can keep proud Americans in our workforce, I will promise that you will live a regular less problematic lifestyle. I take pride in my work, myself, and my family. The love I have for this country fuels me to continue to be the best man I can be. One man is irreplaceable, and this land is a place filled with opportunity. My father died when I was 15 years old the example, I showed my younger sister is to stand strong, invest in yourself, don’t shy away from education. This place is filled with hate, crime, and adultery cannot combat the good one man can do. Unemployment will decrease dramatically when they realize they can change their lives with one opportunity.

Toughness is the trait that I have embedded into my DNA. I feel like I have the sweetest heart on this earth and toughness is my greatest asset that nobody would mention about me firsthand because I probably don’t look apart. I value toughness in myself before any trait because I know a lot of people don’t harness the respect I have for my elders. I feel like a rock that’s more than what meets the eye, I just lack luster and if I didn’t, I just might be a diamond. If I lacked toughness I couldn’t expect to get anywhere in life, nobody held my hand and closed mouths don’t get fed. Till I can prove who I can be to myself I remain tough, I’ll remain softhearted because the toughest person you might have never known almost ruined his life trying to be something he wasn’t. The trait of toughness often branches out to leadership, someone who won’t lead you wrong, I can honestly admit being a follower gets you hurt. Before I am a follower, I will take lead. The next characteristic I will reveal and that I want to add is the ability to be a leader. The ability to lead will prove I can be a father. If I want to be a father, I’m willing to be the toughest person to lead my family in the direction I want to be in. I’ll be the most knowledgeable, the wisest, the most inspiring, the most empowering leader with the confidence instilled in me. Leadership is a quality we all possess; leadership is something I have witnessed, and I always try to be the best student. I feel like if I can’t admire the qualities, you possess before I discredit you, I cannot be a good leader because I want to honor you. I feel like being tough is the first quality I need to identify in myself in order to grow, in order to evolve, toughness is what I need to survive in this world. If I can look you in your eyes and the first thing, I notice is your toughness I know it’s more than what makes the man. I am a humble man, I am a sensitive man, and toughness is the God-given trait that separates me from my entire generation. My heart is not yours; our innocence is everything, and God shined light on so many things in my life that I know that there’s a different path and journey for me.
    Dog Lover Scholarship
They say dogs are a man’s best friend. I know they feel, I know they love, I know they are family. I love dogs because we have dogs in our community serving in the police force, we have dogs that save lives, we have dogs that’ll never leave your side. Hachiko was a Japanese dog that continued to show his master loyalty nine years after his senpai’s death. The owner of Hachiko was Ueno and his pet Akira showed his loyalty to him till he died on his Japanese farmland. I know dogs are sensitive, I had a pet German shepherd named Jag, he was the sweetest puppy. My dog used to cry when his paws were cold. You must be a real man to love dogs. When my father passed away, I handled my German Shepard like a real man, my dog could have served on the force. I know that dogs are important to people’s families and when you learn animals can feel you love them even more. After my father passed in 2011 my dog knew that his master passed away, I and Jag grew closer, he was a good boy. If I added another pet to my family, I know there isn’t a dog that replaces Jag’s soul in that place and time where I grew up with this dog. If there was a new addition to the Mitchell family, I would add an English Bulldog because that’s my favorite breed, next to German Shepherds and Siberian Huskies. I am a family man and a dog lover. The responsibility I learned is that you must sacrifice to take care of others. I was both a caregiver to my father and my pet. My father taught me how to have this dog housebroken, he continued to show his ability to learn after being taught how to sit. I could sit a treat on my dog’s head, and he wouldn’t attack he was a good dog that had anxiety. We shared car rides, I saved his life because he didn’t need to go through any pain, and he was the healthiest happiest puppy that’s what I wanted to see after I finished a day at school. Jag was family and I gave him to my cousin, the most intelligent dog I have seen in case he never knew. I feel veterinary medicine is one of the most important practices and I share the same heart as the team that saved my puppy.

    Bold Happiness Scholarship
To live, learn, and love. With every obstacle, I have ever faced those are the only L’s I ever took in life. Another day to live, I don’t want to take my life for granted, another to live is another day to learn, another day to learn, is another day to love, another day to love is everything you need to love the life you live. I value and appreciate great minds and that is how my heart is designed. I love seeing other people happy. My happiness comes from my family, my happiness comes from understanding fathers, my happiness comes from understanding mothers, and knowing that we can love as a community to protect our livelihood. Knowing what can make America Great Again is our country’s classic fellowship that should be embroidered in every man despite the color of his skin, the denomination of their religion, and culture. That’s happiness expressed by my words.
    Bold Equality Scholarship
“The history of the past is but one long struggle upward to equality,” -Elizabeth Cady Stanton. The country we know, and love is the land of the free. This is our melting pot. Our constitution states justice and freedom for all. The 13 th amendment abolished slavery and ever since that day racism should have never existed. The Immigration and Nationality Act allows the United States to grant up to 675,000 permanent visas each year. Each of those families should have the opportunity to access a fundamental education, a good health care provider, and good jobs. We all have the right to freedom of speech and religion, the right to be treated fairly, the right to privacy, and immigrants have those same rights. The freedom an average man takes for granted is everything a family wants on the other side of the globe. If freedom for all was indoctrinated, nobody should be discriminated against for their language, religion, or the color of their skin. Our constitution and amendments protect every lawful citizen and those who want to join our great country can feel free to honor our constitution as well. I believe in justice for all, and everything isn’t just white and black but more of a proud country that stands for more. If you honor our country, you are just as American. I pay my love and respect forward across this nation that I love, and any American Citizen should feel the same.
    Papi & Mamita Memorial Scholarship
My name is Jacorey Mitchell. I came into this world by myself. I reveal the truth to me I discovered I’m a bastard child, my mother lies but I know the truth. I never met my father’s biological parents. I love everybody I came into this world with. I’m trying to overcome every obstacle in my life like a young dreamer in New York City. I have morals I want to teach my son. I want him to tell my son no matter how bad my life had been he can separate from all the negatives everything and create his own legacy. If my father died before I was born 9/10, he was not a criminal but a victim of murder. I can change the world with social work. My generation recognized child abuse and we can identify child abuse. When you are brought into this world innocent and maintain your innocence, after High School that student should not be a criminal. Child abuse, child sexual abuse, drug abuse is the gateway to manufacture criminals. If a child was born that child is not born a criminal even if that child’s parents are felons. This world in my eyes needs to change, personal life is grim, and I can be dedicated to my work to solve problems. If I could get a scholarship and somebody to believe in me, I can tremendously upscale my life and have an innovative career. I have awesome goals of becoming a scholar and this is my own personal endeavor. The Papi and Mamita scholarship would reflect the heart of a dreamer. Before somebody down themselves, I’ll be the first to tell them that their life is not that complicated. I can tell you so much about not being perfect, till where effort and heart will prove your worth. I will stand as strong as any of the broken-hearted to tell you that your whole life is ahead of you. Knowing your worth is your first lesson in life. When you are thought if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all because not one person has the birthright to disrespect another human being. I vow to separate myself from people that believe we live in a lawless land. I want to protect people from others who believe that get away with heinous crimes that don’t do anything but erupt and citate gun violence. I almost believe the only citizens that need firearms are authorized men in uniform or members of the NRA. I believe we need new gun laws in place. In New York, if you are apprehended with an unlicensed firearm, you get 5 yrs. in prison. The laws in place are to protect the citizens of the United States and I do not promote gun violence by any means. In 1989 Stanley Thomas was gunned down on the east side of Detroit at 17 years old on field street and technology was advanced enough to save his life or to find his murderer. He was killed on my mother’s birthday. In March 2001, Muhammed Jermaine Thomas was killed. I believe my father was killed. My only nod to this country was to serve and protect this country and protect families from gun violence.
Gladys Ruth Legacy “Service“ Memorial Scholarship
What a scholarship would mean to me? If I could get a scholarship, it would mean more to me because it will be a new passage to self-discovery. I could tell you what I can be in this world, and it would never be a failure. They say you can reach mountain tops but only the strongest can survive in the valley. I fought depression, realized that you are alone in this world then I grew up. I expect so much out of myself, and failure is something I do not condone. I can’t be compared to my peers, I can say that no matter who you are, I remember the notion “All men aren’t created equal “, and I’m a proud humble servant because of that. I find it hard to believe that I never met my father in life, and I’m still proud of myself. I want a career and I want my work ethic to forge every relationship. If you were made 10 x times though I’m going to tell you I want to be 25 x times that. I want to separate what people find admirable and respect all people of every ethnicity. I almost want to be a scientist, which means if I must become a scholar at physics, I’ll do everything in my power to do so. Because physics was my weakest subject. I want to be a lifelong learner and my work to be respected by the most reputable. I want to discover, unearth my passions of art, show you birthright passion to learn. I want to know the effects of globalization and know what work I can do to help innocent people push forward in life. I want this country to have a 0 % percent murder rate, a 100 % High School graduation rate, 75% college graduation rate. I feel like I have the skills to be a part of any modern domestic organization. Life has humbled me in such a way I just want to be a student because I recognize what privilege is. I think I deserve a scholarship because I never touch or sold heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, adderall, molly, mushrooms. I have never been a follower, I can lead, I would make an example out of myself. I know this country took a turn in disgust. This country has unearthed so many gems and I want to be just as precious. If I could learn from you, I’ll take it as an honor.
    First-Generation Educators Scholarship
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn,” -Benjamin Franklin. If you want to know Jacorey Mitchell, I will have to say I would be nothing without Southfield, Pontiac, and the Fraser School District. I started reading in pre-school and the first book I touched was a dictionary. I never touched a controller till I learned how to read, I wouldn’t call myself a gamer to I earned a degree, and I wouldn’t call myself an educator unless you feel like I’m capable of doing so. When I first fell in love with colligate sports, I fell in love with the program of UCON the school Richard Hamilton went to, as well as being a fan of both Michigan colligate teams, including the Mac Division. Watching Kalin Lucas and DaJuan Summers growing up made me want to be a Spartan, I’ll hang my head on that because that’s where I sat my bar. I told my earliest elementary teachers that I wanted to be an honor student and that I wanted advanced placement classes, never even thought about the task it took or if I was capable, but I knew what my bar was. When I moved to Pontiac, I was an honor roll student for two years and in my eighth grade I got dropped for my math courses, but I still had journalism under my belt. I moved to Fraser and immediately adapted to my new environment. My freshman year was my loneliest but my best year of education. My father passed away and still didn’t slip up and I didn’t break, I can remember that my peer dealt with the same thing, and I knew we were men from that point forward we were men. I started working as early as I could, I joined a workforce program managed by Ms. Witt and I became a part of the Art Van Porter staff, I couldn’t be happier. I had a Simba life and I never wanted to be the center of attention, but I never wanted to be a failure. I can admit I could’ve applied myself more but don’t pity don’t man. Junior year I can’t tell how well Fraser prepared us for the ACT if I didn’t make the bar, it was completely my fault. I continued proceeded with my senior unsure of my future not sure if I was okay with just contempt with being a lonely soldier or if I could be a lucky kid that could leave and find his way at Grand Valley State University. I wasn’t accepted to Grand Valley State University and the only reason I didn’t join the military was that I had more wounds than I thought. From Fraser High School the best educators whether they know it or not for me is Mr.Muschong a man who is comfortable in his skin, it’s not hard to love him, Mr. Gary Haxer who is the best teacher, Mr. Nowitzki my favorite old school teacher, Mr. . Skaldnowski who probably had the hardest classes, Mr. Brasure who is a blue-collar guy you can’t talk down on, Mr.Doud who is the greatest woodshop teacher, Mr. Stewart a great English teacher, and all those wonderful women should never question what they know. The only program they needed was ROTC and if they did have it then I am nothing more than ignorant.
    Patrick Stanley Memorial Scholarship
I want to continue my education and fulfill my destiny as a lifelong learner. The philosophy of Da Vinci shows I have the right to its 2022. Hello, my name is Jacorey Mitchell, and I feel like I have much more to prove. Continuing my education at 25 is just a tab on a long list of achievements in this country that you and I can do. Why compromise what is expected of you, if I continued my education at 25 years old, I feel like at 30 with ten years of work experience I should really tell you how education is still important to the blue-collar community. This Patrick Stanley Memorial scholarship hits home to me because I am inspired by him to not give up. Dr. Patrick Stanley earned his bachelor’s at 28 years old as a minority and he would’ve told you that nobody was going to hand him over that degree if he didn’t earn it. I would honor Dr. Patrick Stanley for the reasons he inspired me for the same thing you might think is impossible. If the odds were stacked against me, I would proceed with my education like that man with the same burning passion for the opportunity that burns inside of my heart to continue my education. The Patrick Stanley Memorial is just more than a scholarship but the truth of a man that proved odds were stacked against him, Dr. Patrick Stanley was still able to prevail. I will be the first to tell you I put myself above no man and I will tell you that his man is first. My sunrise was June 26, 1996, since I have been in this world, I have had close ties with Japan the culture I loved since I could say Pikachu. I was born with an all-loving heart and my all-loving heart can stretch across our equator two thousand times in a record time fold, and I still couldn’t tell you at arms end race with the world who won by having the better heart. I have to say I was born with a heart for creative writing whether who tells me I’m crazy but since I have been here, I can’t tell you what love is and I can tell you what respect is and that’s how I love everybody, easy. Dr. Patrick Stanley never gave up. I will never give up because I know that before I let the world swallow me alive, I know my self-worth. I live with honor, and I love people.
    Bold Simple Pleasures Scholarship
The simple pleasures in life , and what are they . My pleasures in life might be so common that it might be simple . I love education so much I can admire my professors and their work. I can see what I have accomplished and know while I’m in their presence my future is more assured with them then being outside their lecture hall . I love my family , the pleasure I would get out of telling them that I’m the rock that they need . The simple pleasure to tell you that it’s not a race but a journey . It comes down to multitude of things that I can’t yet narrow things down just yet. But life is filled with so many amazing people . I want to be apart of something that can push us into a better tomorrow. We can all join in together and say that we take pleasure to ensure that this world is a better place for all.
    Bold Meaning of Life Scholarship
What is the meaning of life to God fearing man ? What is the value of time ?Why the moments that’s gone shape the rest your future . Life is about purpose and determination. There is a word called perseverance but that word would only mean so much without action. Me personally I want all my actions to line up with how I approach life . Open mindedness, willingness to learn , room to grow , posses the ability to teach and still be taught giving you the opportunity called growth. Life is your solution , the life you live you is what you make of it . If you were to bid on success you cannot without placing that bet yourself. If there was a door waiting for you to open it's not up to you whether that door is push or pull . That’s why I keep going .
