My name is Jackson C McCart. I am from Indianapolis, IN. I am a first-generation 4 year college student in my family. I intend on being the first to graduate college in my family. Both of my parents and grandparents grew up in rough communities around Indianapolis but worked hard to help raise me and put me into the position I am in today. I am currently Sophomore/second-year and am enrolled at McKendree University in Lebanon, IL. I am also on scholarship grant for men's rugby at the university. I have many future goals. I am currently enrolled as a Business Administration Major with a Minor in Communications. I would like to try and travel after graduating. Through rugby, I have become friends with many international students and would like to visit them and see other cultures. I am also interested in film and would like to give it a try after college. Perhaps even attend school. I am young and have a whole future ahead of me so I try to not believe in the illusion of pressure having to know what I specifically want in my future. I would like to get scholarships to help me financially with school and student loans so I am able to grow as a person after college. I would not like to let money be a boundary between me and my future. I understand it is not a perfect world for anyone and in order to grow I must suffer. I do not want to sound overtly ostentatious but money is hard during college. Especially while being a student-athlete. I just would like to try and get myself into good positions so I can stop starving.

As a first-generation student-athlete, the pursuit of a business degree is not merely a path to career success but a journey toward personal growth and community impact. Choosing to delve into the world of business is driven by a combination of passion, practicality, and a deep-seated desire to contribute positively to the community.
The decision to pursue a business degree stems from a fascination with the intricate workings of the corporate world. The dynamic nature of business, the strategic decision-making processes, and the ever-evolving market trends have ignited a curiosity within me. A business degree provides a versatile foundation, equipping me with a diverse set of skills ranging from finance and marketing to leadership and innovation. This comprehensive skill set is not just a means to secure a future career; it's an investment in personal development and adaptability in an ever-changing professional landscape.
Beyond personal aspirations, I see my education as a powerful tool to make a positive impact on the community that has nurtured and supported me. Business, at its core, is about problem-solving and creating value. Armed with the knowledge gained from my studies, I plan to channel my skills and expertise into initiatives that address pressing societal challenges.
One avenue through which I aim to contribute is by fostering entrepreneurship within my community. I believe that empowering individuals to create and manage their own businesses not only stimulates economic growth but also enhances the social fabric. Small businesses are the lifeblood of communities, providing employment opportunities and contributing to local development. By utilizing the knowledge acquired during my business studies, I aspire to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the complexities of the business world and fostering an environment of innovation and resilience.
Moreover, a business education offers a unique perspective on sustainability and corporate social responsibility. I am committed to integrating ethical business practices into my future endeavors, advocating for environmentally conscious decisions and social responsibility. Through partnerships with local organizations and community engagement initiatives, I intend to promote sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and the well-being of the community.
In conclusion, my pursuit of a business degree is not solely about personal success but about utilizing the acquired knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to the community. It is a commitment to becoming an agent of positive change, whether by fostering entrepreneurship, promoting sustainability, or actively engaging with local initiatives. As I navigate the academic landscape, I am driven by a sense of purpose, understanding that my education is a powerful tool to create a lasting and positive impact on the community I call home.
