Bio

I am a boundary-pushing artist dedicated to exposing the inner workings of society through a diverse range of mediums. My art covers various topics, from societal and environmental issues to personal introspection. In the ever-evolving landscape of the 21st century, I engage with a vibrant online artistic community, drawing inspiration from contemporary and historical masters like Andy Warhol and Frida Kahlo. My artistic toolbox blends traditional tools like pens, pencils, and brushes with digital mediums and experimental techniques. This fusion allows me to create designs that defy conventional boundaries and bring my unique perspective to life. Additionally, my art is centered around themes of consumerism and meta-modernism. To put it simply, my art delves into the very real realms of conglomerates, vivid colors, and contemporary existence. With the world in a state of flux, my art is in a similar state of evolution and growth. Throughout the years, the narrative surrounding my art has changed but has one continuity: my constant passion for ideas that words simply cannot. Initially, I was interested in exhibiting stories of unique characters and their lives. As time went on, my perception of the world changed, now with a more nuanced perspective. I have become more driven in displaying these inner workings for all to see, no matter how unnerving may be. Nintendo Super Fan Scholarship
In the colorful realm of Nintendo, where friendships are forged through pixelated adventures and triumphs are celebrated with button-mashing enthusiasm, choosing a favorite co-op game becomes a delightful challenge. Among the myriad of titles that have graced the screen of my trusty Nintendo console, "Super Mario Odyssey" emerges as the quintessential co-op experience, a game that transcends mere entertainment to become a shared odyssey of laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable moments. "Super Mario Odyssey" not only revitalized the beloved franchise but also introduced the innovative co-op mode, allowing a second player to control Cappy, Mario's sentient hat. This addition turned a solo journey into a cooperative masterpiece, and it's within this collaborative odyssey that I experienced a gaming session so memorable it etched itself into the annals of my gaming history. The setting was a lazy Sunday afternoon, with the sun casting a warm glow through the curtains and the comforting hum of the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode setting the stage. My co-op companion and I embarked on a journey through the vibrant landscapes of the Mushroom Kingdom, with Mario and Cappy becoming our digital avatars in a quest to thwart Bowser's wedding plans. Little did we know that this session would become a tapestry of shared laughter and unexpected triumphs. The level that defined our co-op experience was the bustling metropolis of New Donk City. As we navigated the urban playground, leaping between skyscrapers and swinging from lampposts, the seamless integration of Mario's acrobatics and Cappy's transformative powers added a layer of complexity that demanded synchronized precision. It wasn't just about collecting Power Moons; it was about orchestrating a symphony of jumps, spins, and hat throws that bordered on choreography. Our moment of triumph came during a particularly challenging section where we had to navigate a series of narrow platforms suspended in the sky. The precarious arrangement demanded a blend of platforming finesse and teamwork, with Cappy's assistance becoming the linchpin of our success. As Mario gracefully executed jumps, spins, and wall jumps, Cappy flitted between enemies and platforms, providing a safety net for mistimed maneuvers. The defining moment occurred when, faced with an impossibly wide gap, we executed a move that felt straight out of a gaming montage. As Mario leaped into the abyss, Cappy soared ahead, creating a mid-air platform for Mario to bounce off, reaching heights we hadn't thought possible. The coordination required to pull off this move was akin to a synchronized dance, a moment where our skills seamlessly intertwined to create something greater than the sum of its parts. What followed was a burst of shared laughter and a sense of achievement that reverberated beyond the digital realm. It wasn't just a successful jump; it was a testament to the synergy forged through hours of shared gameplay. At that moment, the line between player one and player two blurred, and we became a singular force navigating the challenges of the Mushroom Kingdom. "Super Mario Odyssey" in co-op mode has etched itself as my favorite Nintendo game due to moments like these—moments where the game transcends pixels and controllers, becoming a canvas for shared experiences and laughter. The joy of collaborative triumphs, unexpected comebacks, and the simple pleasure of navigating a whimsical world together make it the go-to game for any gathering of friends or family. In the grand tapestry of gaming memories, our co-op odyssey in New Donk City stands as a vivid and cherished thread, weaving together the magic of Nintendo and the camaraderie forged through the unlikeliest of gaming companions—Mario and Cappy, and my co-op partner in crime.
    “Stranger Things” Fanatic Scholarship
In the enigmatic realm of Hawkins, where the line between reality and the supernatural blurs, assembling the perfect squad to combat a new otherworldly threat is no easy task. The potential cataclysmic events lurking around the corner demand a team that not only boasts individual strengths but also possesses the right dynamic for effective collaboration. My ultimate dream team would consist of Eleven, Chief Jim Hopper, and Dustin Henderson, each chosen for their unique abilities, resilience, and the chemistry they bring to the table. First and foremost, Eleven stands as the linchpin of the squad, wielding her extraordinary psychic powers as a formidable weapon against any supernatural adversary. Her telekinetic abilities, honed through experiences with the Upside Down and the Hawkins Lab, make her an indispensable asset in facing the unknown. Eleven's unwavering determination, as seen in her relentless pursuit of her friends and her quest for self-discovery, adds a crucial element of resilience to the team. Her ability to tap into the Upside Down offers a strategic advantage, enabling the squad to anticipate and counteract the supernatural threat with precision. Next on the roster is Chief Jim Hopper, whose grizzled demeanor and seasoned law enforcement background make him an ideal leader for this perilous mission. Hopper's tactical mindset, developed through years of navigating the shadows of Hawkins, positions him as the strategic mastermind of the group. His experience with the Upside Down, battling Demogorgons and Mind Flayers alike, equips him with invaluable insights into the supernatural forces at play. Hopper's protective instincts, especially when it comes to Eleven and the citizens of Hawkins, serve as a driving force that will propel the team forward, even in the face of the most formidable adversaries. Completing the trio is the irrepressibly endearing Dustin Henderson, whose intelligence, resourcefulness, and unyielding optimism make him an indispensable asset. While lacking supernatural abilities, Dustin's scientific acumen, as demonstrated through his makeshift radio tower and understanding of the demogorgon's biology, provides a unique perspective. Moreover, Dustin's infectious humor and camaraderie act as the glue that binds the team together, fostering a sense of unity and morale crucial for facing the impending supernatural threat. His ability to forge unlikely alliances, as seen with Steve Harrington in the Scoops Troop, adds a diplomatic dimension to the team, potentially enabling them to navigate complex supernatural alliances. The dynamic between Eleven, Chief Hopper, and Dustin creates a synergy that extends beyond their strengths. Eleven's raw power, Hopper's strategic prowess, and Dustin's ingenuity complement each other, forming a cohesive unit capable of tackling the multifaceted challenges posed by the new supernatural threat. The trust forged through shared experiences, as witnessed in their struggles against the Mind Flayer and demogorgons, solidifies the bonds within the team, ensuring seamless coordination during high-stakes confrontations. In conclusion, my "Stranger Things" dream team combines the extraordinary abilities of Eleven, the strategic leadership of Chief Hopper, and the intellectual resourcefulness of Dustin Henderson. Together, they form a squad that not only possesses the individual strengths necessary to combat a supernatural threat but also exhibits a camaraderie that transcends the realms of the Upside Down. As the clock ticks down and Hawkins faces a new paranormal peril, this dream team stands as the town's best hope for unraveling the mysteries and emerging victorious against the forces that lurk in the shadows.
    “The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
As a seasoned fan of "The Office," the question of which character I resonate with most is both intriguing and revealing. While each member of the Scranton branch contributes to the comedic tapestry of the show, my resonance lies with the ever-relatable Jim Halpert. Jim's character embodies a balance of wit, humor, and an underlying sense of ambition that resonates with my professional aspirations. His penchant for pranks is not just a source of amusement but a manifestation of his creativity and desire to inject a sense of fun into the mundane. In a corporate environment often plagued by monotony, I find parallels between Jim's pranks and my efforts to inject creativity into my work. It's a reminder that even in the most ordinary settings, there's room for innovation and a touch of playfulness. Moreover, Jim's journey from a seemingly unfulfilling job to pursuing his dreams aligns with my career trajectory. His decision to follow his passion for sports marketing, despite the challenges, serves as a source of inspiration. It encourages me to take risks, pursue my interests, and not settle for a professional path devoid of personal fulfillment. "The Office" has undeniably shaped my sense of humor, infusing it with a blend of sarcasm, observational wit, and a keen awareness of the absurdity that often characterizes office life. Michael Scott's cringe-worthy yet endearing antics have become a lesson in what not to do as a leader, highlighting the importance of effective communication and self-awareness in a leadership role. The show has heightened my appreciation for humor as a coping mechanism, allowing me to navigate the complexities of the workplace with a lighthearted perspective. Beyond the laughter, "The Office" serves as a poignant reflection on workplace dynamics. The diverse array of characters mirrors the varied personalities one encounters in any professional setting. Dwight Schrute, with his unwavering dedication and eccentricities, has taught me the value of perseverance and the importance of staying true to one's beliefs. While I may not share his enthusiasm for beet farming, Dwight's unyielding commitment to his principles is a trait worth emulating. Pam Beesly, with her journey from receptionist to pursuing her artistic dreams, showcases the significance of personal growth and resilience in the face of challenges. Her character underscores the idea that the workplace is not just a space for professional development but also a canvas for personal evolution. In the broader context, "The Office" has shaped my understanding of organizational culture. The mockumentary format provides a unique lens through which to examine the subtleties of office politics, camaraderie, and the impact of leadership on team dynamics. It has made me more attuned to the nuances of interpersonal relationships in a professional setting, emphasizing the significance of empathy and collaboration. In conclusion, my affinity for Jim Halpert stems from the resonance of his character with my professional journey. "The Office" has not only influenced my sense of humor but has also provided valuable insights into workplace dynamics. It's a show that transcends its comedic façade, offering a mirror to the quirks and complexities of the professional world while imparting lessons that extend beyond the confines of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch.
    Spider-Man Showdown Scholarship
As I delve into the memories of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, I am transported back to a time when superhero movies were still finding their footing. Maguire's portrayal in Sam Raimi's trilogy resonated with me due to its earnestness and the character's struggle to balance love, duty, and identity. Maguire's Peter Parker was the underdog, facing personal hardships while shouldering the responsibility of being a superhero. The emotional depth he brought to the character left a lasting impression, making Maguire's Spider-Man a classic and timeless representation of the iconic hero. Andrew Garfield, with his stint as the wall-crawler, offered a fresh take on Spider-Man. His portrayal in "The Amazing Spider-Man" series showcased a more tenacious and quick-witted hero. Garfield's Spider-Man was marked by his humor, agility, and determination to uncover the truth about his past. The chemistry between Garfield's Peter Parker and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy added a poignant layer to the character's narrative. Garfield's Spider-Man was relatable in a different way, appealing to a new generation of fans with a more contemporary and dynamic approach. In the more recent cinematic landscape, Tom Holland has donned the red and blue suit, bringing a youthful and evolving Spider-Man to the forefront. Holland's take on the character captures the essence of a young superhero finding his way in a world filled with larger-than-life challenges. His portrayal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduces Peter Parker who grapples with mentorship, friendships, and the global responsibilities that come with being an Avenger. Holland seamlessly blends humor with vulnerability, creating a Spider-Man that reflects the complexities of modern-day youth. Choosing a favorite Spider-Man is a daunting task, considering the unique contributions each actor has made to the character. However, if I were to pick one, it would be Tom Holland. His portrayal not only pays homage to the core characteristics of Spider-Man but also brings a contemporary and relatable dimension to the character. Holland's Spider-Man is a perfect blend of wit, charm, and emotional depth. The way he seamlessly integrates into the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe adds layers to the character, making him feel like an integral part of a larger superhero narrative. Moreover, Holland's Spider-Man embodies the spirit of growth and resilience, reflecting the journey of youth navigating a world filled with challenges. The evolution of the character under Holland's portrayal mirrors the personal growth and self-discovery that every young person undergoes. In conclusion, the Spider-Man Showdown Scholarship serves as a poignant reminder of the diverse interpretations that have shaped the cinematic legacy of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. While each actor brought their unique flavor to the character, Tom Holland's portrayal stands out for its contemporary relevance, humor, and emotional depth. As I reflect on my favorite Spider-Man, it's clear that the enduring appeal of the web-slinger lies in the ability of each actor to capture the essence of Peter Parker's journey—a journey that resonates with fans across generations.
    Good People, Cool Things Scholarship
Throughout my upbringing, my mom always mentioned that I was born with a pencil in my hand. One of my favorite childhood memories was when I asked my parents for art supplies instead of toys for my birthday. I would spend hours drawing onto coloring books-sketching out page after page filled with vibrant colors. One of the things that I loved the most about painting was how one could start with a blank sheet of paper, and over an hour or two, I could be on an adventure where I could go anywhere. In the sheets of paper, I played out whatever fantasy I wanted. Mars could be mine, and New York was only a few pencil strokes away. In my pursuit of artistic expression, I pull the curtain on society and present its innards that might not always be beautiful and often deviate from the status quo. With a wide variety of mediums, I express opinions on different topics, whether that be societal, environmental, or intrapersonal issues. These subjects, though not always heavy, are consistently important to me and my creative process. Topics I discuss range from the dangers of consumerism to the simple joy of walking down a street. In our 21st century world, my creative journey is amid today's social media where I engage in the rich community of artists interconnected through various online spaces. As I delve into the works of others, I am engulfed with information on countless artists and techniques past and present. Drawing inspiration from both contemporary and historical artists such as Andy Warhol, And Frida Kahlo; These artists have shaped my creative journey heavily, morphing my art into varying techniques, styles, and ideas. Due to these muses, my artistic toolbox carries traditional materials such as pens, pencils, and brushes, Alongside a wide range of digital mediums and experimental techniques such as digital manipulation and screen-printing to achieve designs that defy conventional boundaries. Additionally, my art is centered around themes of consumerism and meta-modernism. To put it simply, my art delves into the very real realms of conglomerates, vivid colors, and contemporary existence. With the world in a state of perpetual flux, my art is in a similar state of evolution and growth. Growing up in a Mexican household has influenced my creative process through exposure to the rich culture of my ancestors. Dia De los Muertos is a special tradition for my family and I, since it was my first exposure to the distinct details of Mexican Art. The Mexican serape textile, with its intricate assortments of colors forming gradients, was placed on the table. Plates full of mole, peanuts, Coca-Cola, and dulce de calabaza all lined up as the dishes that my grandparents loved. The aromas and flavors spark memories etched in my mind. Food and traditions have been a hallmark of my life. Traditions like these ushered in the power of art: the power of bringing people together, even the ones who are no longer with us. Though my childhood was shaped by my Mexican history, the melting pot of cultures in Chicago did not go unnoticed. Chicago is my home with its gloomy spirits notoriously bleak in the winter. Concrete blankets the streets and skies facing an icy lake. I have had my fair share of bitter cold Chicago winters. Shielded by a thick jacket and warm knitted scarf made by my Abuela. Walking down Milwaukee Avenue, every nook and cranny is filled with art. From the facades of the buildings to the vibrant graffiti, the space is used for expression. As an artist, I want to bring people together. I want to bring communities together and let art become an outlet in various forms. So in my pursuit of artistic expression, I pull the curtain on society and present its innards that might not always be beautiful and often deviate from the status quo. With a wide variety of mediums, I express opinions on different topics, whether that be societal, environmental, or intrapersonal issues. These subjects, though not always heavy, are consistently important to me and my creative process. Topics I discuss range from the dangers of consumerism to the simple joy of walking down a street. Art became my refuge, a medium through which I could channel the frenetic energy of ADHD into a tangible and expressive form. The unpredictability and impulsivity that often accompanied ADHD found an outlet in the strokes of a paintbrush or the lines of a sketch. What started as a coping mechanism evolved into a profound passion, providing me with a means to communicate and understand the intricate nuances of my mind. Through the vibrant hues and dynamic forms of my creations, I found a voice that transcended the limitations of traditional communication. Art became a language through which I could express the intensity of my experiences, offering a cathartic release from the internal chaos that often accompanies ADHD. This newfound avenue of expression not only allowed me to cope with the challenges of daily life but also empowered me to advocate for myself within the educational system. As innocent as all this was, the pencil did not stop me from the real world. Waves of anxiety washed over me when teachers and parents asked what we wanted to be growing up. I was a novice artist, while the other kids were pretentious to become lawyers and engineers. All through my childhood, I heard whispers of doubt; the overwhelming shadow of the classic ¨starving artist¨ troupe loomed over me. "How are you going to make money?" they asked. "What money?" I replied. I never saw painting as an action of avarice; It is who I am meant to be. I was told if I applied myself, I would succeed. At the time, I felt I had chosen the wrong path; I told myself maybe I should not be an artist. As much as I loved drawing and painting, I could not find a way to rationalize the idea of being an artist in my head. My middle school years can be summarized with the term "art slump." It was a mixture of a lack of inspiration and self-confidence, finding little interest in drawing in the fear of alienation. I lied to everyone, saying I wanted to become an engineer or a doctor. Part of myself died that day when I uttered those lies, but all this changed when I discovered my role models. Abruptly, through a turn of events, I slowly crept out of my torpid "art slump." This was partly because I have found new role models in my life. Albeit, these role models were no longer on this earth. Andy Warhol, Diego Rivera, And Frida Kahlo were some of the many who were there for me on my journey. They taught me that art is not just an escape from reality; it could also transmute our lives. I found out I could use these tools of graphite and pigments to pull the curtain on the inner workings of our world. This revelation caused a significant paradigm shift, launching me into new creative heights. I no longer cared for what anyone had to say or think. Now, a free agent, I was on a mission. After looking at these artworks, my first assignment was to find out how to pull this so-called curtain of reality myself. I began with storing as much information as I could in my head about art. Since then, life has taught me two lessons: Never abandon your passions for conformity and embrace who you are and who you are meant to be. These lessons have followed me everywhere I go; if I was working on a painting or writing an essay, I ensured my voice was heard. I aspire to create artwork that serves as a thought-provoking mirror reflecting the intricate layers of our world to become a role model of inspiration, just like my predecessors.

Establishing positive and trusting relationships between law enforcement agencies and the African American population in the United States is crucial for the overall well-being of communities. To improve these relationships, law enforcement agencies must prioritize transparency, community engagement, and cultural competency. Transparency is a cornerstone of building trust. Law enforcement agencies should proactively share information with the public, especially in cases involving incidents with potential racial implications. This includes releasing body camera footage, providing updates on investigations, and being open about the actions taken in response to alleged misconduct. Transparency fosters accountability, reassuring the community that law enforcement agencies are committed to fairness and justice. Community engagement is equally vital. Law enforcement should actively participate in community events, forums, and dialogues, creating spaces for open communication. By fostering genuine connections with the African American community, officers can better understand the concerns, values, and needs of the people they serve. Regular town hall meetings, community policing initiatives, and collaboration with local leaders can help bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community. Cultural competency training is an essential component of improving relationships. Law enforcement agencies should invest in comprehensive training programs that enhance officers' understanding of diverse cultures, histories, and perspectives, with a specific focus on the African American experience. This training can help officers approach their duties with empathy, sensitivity, and a heightened awareness of the potential impact of their actions on different communities. Recruitment practices also play a role in improving relationships. Law enforcement agencies should actively seek diversity within their ranks, ensuring that officers reflect the demographics of the communities they serve. Diverse perspectives within the force can lead to better understanding and communication, breaking down stereotypes and fostering a more inclusive environment. Implementing community policing strategies is another effective approach. This involves officers becoming an integral part of the communities they serve, working collaboratively to address local concerns and build positive relationships. Engaging in problem-solving initiatives, rather than solely focusing on law enforcement, helps shift the narrative and perception of police presence within communities. In conclusion, improving relationships between law enforcement agencies and the African-American population requires a multifaceted approach. Transparency, community engagement, cultural competency training, diverse recruitment, and community policing initiatives are all critical components. By actively addressing historical grievances, fostering understanding, and working hard collaboratively towards shared goals and finally law enforcement agencies can build trust and cultivate a safer, more harmonious environment for everyone.

Navigating higher education with ADHD has taught me the importance of resilience and adaptability. Each setback became an opportunity for growth, and every challenge was a canvas upon which I could paint my narrative. The pursuit of academic excellence became a dynamic process, shaped not only by conventional study methods but also by innovative strategies born out of necessity. As I look towards the future, my goals are deeply intertwined with my journey of navigating ADHD. I aspire to merge my love for art with a career in psychology, using my unique perspective to contribute to the understanding and support of individuals with neurodivergent conditions. Embarking on the journey of higher education with a chronic condition such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has been a unique odyssey, marked by resilience, self-discovery, and the transformative power of artistic expression. In a society that often overlooks the challenges faced by students dealing with medical conditions, this scholarship represents not only financial support but a recognition of the diverse paths one can forge despite the hurdles. Living with ADHD has been a multifaceted experience, influencing every aspect of my life. From the relentless internal chatter to the perpetual sense of restlessness, navigating the academic landscape has presented challenges that extend beyond the typical rigors of higher education. However, it is within the realm of art that I found solace, a sanctuary where the chaos of ADHD could be harnessed and transformed into a source of creative energy. The traditional educational environment, with its emphasis on structure and focus, often felt like a battleground for someone with ADHD. The constant demand for sustained attention and adherence to rigid timelines proved to be formidable foes. As assignments piled up and deadlines loomed, frustration became a familiar companion. It was amidst this storm of cognitive turbulence that I discovered the therapeutic potential of art. Art became my refuge, a medium through which I could channel the frenetic energy of ADHD into a tangible and expressive form. The canvas, initially blank, soon became a narrative of my thoughts and emotions. The pursuit of academic excellence became a dynamic process, shaped not only by conventional study methods but also by innovative strategies born out of necessity.

My mom always mentioned that I was born with a pencil in my hand. Report cards and exams flew onto my desk with F's circled in red ink. I was told if I applied myself, I would succeed. All I saw on those exams and report cards were more free drawing space. This revelation caused a significant paradigm shift, I no longer cared for what anyone had to say or think.

High school is a crucible of self-discovery, where the interplay of academics and personal growth shapes the trajectory of one's future. For me, this transformative journey was profoundly influenced by a remarkable individual: Mr. Wright, my Pre-Calculus teacher. His eccentricity, passion for teaching, and untimely departure due to budget cuts left an indelible mark on my life, altering not only my approach to mathematics but also shaping my understanding of resilience and the transient nature of life's circumstances. Mr. Wright was not your typical high school teacher. Quirky, with a penchant for wearing mismatched socks and a perpetually disheveled tie, stood out in the regimented world of academia. Yet, it was precisely his idiosyncrasies that made him relatable and approachable, creating an environment where learning transcended the confines of a conventional classroom. In the realm of Pre-Calculus, a subject often viewed with trepidation by students, Mr. Wright was a beacon of enthusiasm. He possessed an uncanny ability to distill complex mathematical concepts into digestible nuggets of wisdom. His teaching style was unconventional, incorporating anecdotes, pop culture references, and even the occasional magic trick to demystify the intricacies of calculus. Suddenly, a subject that once seemed insurmountable became a puzzle waiting to be solved, an intellectual challenge that beckoned exploration. Beyond the confines of the curriculum, Mr. Wright was a mentor who saw potential in each student. He fostered an atmosphere of inclusivity, where questions were encouraged, mistakes were celebrated as opportunities for growth, and success was measured not just in grades but in the journey of understanding. His classroom was a safe space, free from judgment, where the pursuit of knowledge was a collaborative endeavor. The turning point in my appreciation for Mr. Wright came when news broke that he was to be let go due to budget cuts. The collective gasp that reverberated through the student body was a testament to the impact he had made. In the face of adversity, Mr. Wright displayed a resilience that would become a cornerstone of my philosophy. As he bid farewell to his beloved classroom, Mr. Wright imparted a final lesson that transcended the realm of mathematics: life is unpredictable, and circumstances can change in an instant. His departure was a stark reminder that even the most dedicated and impactful individuals can be at the mercy of external forces. However, what lingered was the enduring legacy of his teachings — the importance of embracing challenges, finding joy in the learning process, and the ability to adapt in the face of adversity. In the aftermath of Mr. Wright's departure, the student body rallied in protest, a testament to the profound impact he had on our lives. Although we couldn't reverse the decision, the experience galvanized my peers and me to honor his legacy by approaching life with the same zest for learning and resilience that he had instilled in us. The departure of Mr. Wright taught me that the true value of education extends far beyond textbooks and exams. It lies in the relationships forged, the passion instilled, and the resilience cultivated in the face of challenges. As I navigate the complexities of life, his quirky wisdom remains a guiding light, a reminder to embrace the unpredictable, find joy in the journey, and carry the torch of knowledge forward, even in the face of unforeseen detours. Mr. Wright's influence lives on in the countless students he inspired, a testament to the enduring impact of a teacher who dared to be different.

Growing up in a first-generation Mexican household has influenced my creative process through exposure to the rich culture of my ancestors. Food and traditions have always been hallmarks of my life. As a child, I walked down the aisles of my supermarket seeing a sea of colors, from the deep black of the Chile Ancho to the fluorescent colors of the Concha. Dia De los Muertos was a special day for my family and especially for me since it exhibited only the finest of Mexican art. Mexican serape textile placed on the table, with its intricate assortments of colors forming gradients. On top of the table were colorful skulls, decorated in teal and magentas. Surrounding these skulls are glass bottles of Coca-Cola things that my grandparents loved. It was traditions like these where I was introduced to the rich art of my culture but also something much more potent. Dia De los Muertos introduced me to the power of art bringing people together, even the ones who are no longer with us. Forward to today, I pull the curtain on society and present its innards that might not always be beautiful and often deviate from the status quo. With a wide variety of mediums, I express opinions on different topics, whether that be societal, environmental, or intrapersonal issues. As I pull my eyes toward the future, I see bright rays of success in the world of fine art. Much like the French painter Marcel Duchamp, I will be on the cutting edge of fine art. My work will be all-encompassing, merging all corners of the art world into a display of magical wonder. In college, I plan on creating connections between my peers, hoping to collaborate with them professionally in the future. Doing so will complete a lifelong goal of giving back to the same community that cradled me when I was young. I will stand in place of the absent Idol I wanted when I was a kid, scribbling on drawing pads until my pencil whittled into a stump. As an artist, I want to bring people together with art. I want to bring communities together and let art become an outlet for expressing various forms.
