As an incoming student at Harvard Medical School, my vision is to improve health systems for people with disabilities from underserved communities, particularly in terms of access to surgical and psychological care. I wish to serve as a voice for the community, using my background in clinical and community-based research to advocate for more inclusive health policy. To accomplish these goals, I strive to continuously bridge together my experiences into innovative initiatives. In college, I started a new student-organization connecting uninsured families to surgical care, in addition to fighting for disability rights through grassroots efforts. I am proud to have used my education to support and uplift communities facing systemic barriers to education and healthcare. It is my goal to continue to do so throughout my life. As I approach a career in medicine, I hope to harness the shared capacity between patients and providers to overcome new challenges while promoting greater equity in health.
