FinalistBio
Isabella is a second-year undergraduate student pursuing a major in History and a minor in Jewish Studies at CUNY Hunter College. She plans on pursuing a career in education but is also interested in exploring other fields such as international affairs and politics. She is a Muse Honors Scholar and Co-Secretary of the History Society on her campus. Throughout her first year at Hunter, Ms. Youssef has worked at several jobs, taken on various extra-curriculars while also maintaining a high GPA and earning Dean’s List for both semesters.
In her freshman year, she served as a Holocaust Educator intern at the Museum of Jewish Heritage- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. She traveled to New York City schools, educated students about the Holocaust, and conducted gallery tours through their exhibition.
Ever since she was child, she’s been very active in her church community, participating in and helping to organize local fundraisers and donations. Her call to serve started at a young age when her family and neighbors were severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Due to this experience, she’s always felt the desire to give back and engage in charity work. In June of 2023, she found herself called to serve overseas at a vision clinic in Honduras. While there she conducted eye exams and provided glasses to the visually impaired communities.
Isabella wishes to further her educational learning, cultural understanding and leadership skills. She hopes to be a changemaker in her community, her future profession, as well as abroad to the places she serves.
