I recently graduated from Rocky Mount High School with a 4.1 gpa where I was a participant of the IB program, varsity softball team, debate and yearbook club. I now currently attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a 1st generation college student; I am a psychology major with a minor in criminal justice. I am not exactly sure what my future career will conclude, but I am certain it will involve my passion of helping others persevere.

Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
The technological advancement that inspires me the most about improving our future in which it can make the world a better place is artificial intelligence (AI). AI has the potential to transform our world and improve many aspects of our lives in ways that were once only dreamed of.
AI can make the world a better place by solving some of the world's most pressing problems, such as healthcare. AI has the potential to revolutionize healthcare by allowing doctors to diagnose diseases more accurately, develop more effective treatments, and deliver care more efficiently. For example, AI algorithms can be used to analyze large amounts of medical data, identify patterns that human doctors may have missed, and provide more personalized recommendations for treatment. This can lead to better health outcomes for patients and more efficient use of healthcare resources.
AI can also be used to advance our future as it has the ability to improve decision-making. AI can be used to analyze vast amounts of data and provide insights that humans would not be able to uncover on their own. For example, AI algorithms can be used to analyze data on environmental issues, such as climate change, and provide recommendations for policy and decision-making. This can lead to more informed decisions that can help to protect our planet and ensure a better future for generations to come.
AI has the potential to create new jobs and economic opportunities. As AI becomes more prevalent in our daily lives, it will create new jobs in fields such as data science, machine learning, and robotics. This can lead to greater economic growth and help to address issues such as unemployment and income inequality. AI’s technological advancements allow me to look forward to a better future. Whether it is improving healthcare, helping us make more informed decisions, or creating new jobs and economic opportunities, AI gives us the opportunity to transform our world for the better. As AI continues to develop and evolve, I am excited to see the many new ways in which it will make a positive impact on our world.

I want to make a change that will not only impact my life but will also impact the lives of others. It would not be honest if I told you I knew exactly what that change is because the truth is I do not. I know it might sound cliche to say that "the world needs a change" but it is true. It is also true that one person can not make the significant amount of change the world needs, but one person can make an impact and I want to be an impact.
It would be difficult and personally unethical to be an influence and make an impact in others' lives and our society as a whole if I do not first recognize and tend to the revisions needed in my own life. Although I am very compassionate and I have a strong desire and determination to stand up for what I know to be right, I can often be seen as overemotionably aggressive and oversensitive. These descriptions often make me agitated because I feel as though others are blind to or apathetic to the terrible systems that are affecting us. It will be difficult but I have to better myself by controlling my emotions in times of conflict so I am not defined and made out to be a person I know I am not and most importantly I need to be able to give the mute a better chance of being heard.
An aspect in my life that I often feel and believe is holding me back from my aspirations and goals that I so strongly want to achieve is my lack of tending to my mental health and emotional damage. Although I am always striving to help others by finding a way to tend to their needs I do not put that same driving energy into finding a way to tend to my own needs. I ignore and push away my emotional feelings when it comes to personal situations because I am supposed to be strong for others. Growing up and still today I lack deep and meaningful connections with those closest to me because I have often been dismissed and held accountable for the tramua in my life. I believe this is why I am so determined to help those in need that do not have the strength to help themselves. I believe part of me has not been healed so I try my best to ignore it. Over the past year I have been more expressive and considerate of my own being and I no longer put myself last or dismiss my personal emotions. This scholarship will be a big help and impact to allowing me to receive an higher education and larger opportunity to fufull my compationate emotions and allow me to be an impact to the change my society needs.
