I love painting because it gives me a way to express myself and create something beautiful. As a person, I love observing the world around me. I've always enjoyed being out and seeing all the beautiful sites that the world has to offer. This includes nature and man-made scenery. I often take pictures of the world around as further inspiration. I enjoy painting landscape paintings and they are the majority of my art portfolio.
I very recently started practicing portrait painting, this time using people in my everyday life as inspiration. For my first ever portrait painting, I thought of no one better to paint than my little brother. I love him to pieces and knowing him so well made me want to do even better on the painting. I wanted to capture what I was seeing when I looked at him, his joyful eyes, his sweet smile, and adorable personality and face.
My family and friends also love my paintings and often ask me to paint for them. This really inspires me because I love making people's days with my paintings. It also makes me work harder because I would never want to give someone a painting I'm not satisfied with. This is just one more example of how the world around you can inspire you in so many different ways. I've become a much better artist who is constantly being challenged to improve.
