Bio

Hello! My name is Heather Whitaker, and I am a licensed Realtor in Owensboro, KY. My goal in life is to be financially secure, and have enough that I can help everyone who helped me, and prevent others from struggling as much as I had to. I want to end poverty in my small town, and open several small businesses to help people be successful in their own lives. I have a passion of figuring things out. I love being given a challenge, and finding or negotiating a solution. I love problem-solving and serving my community. I am a great candidate for a scholarship because I will take everything I learn and use it to benefit every single person I come into contact with.

Hello, my name is Heather Whitaker and I am a professional problem-solver. I am 23 years old, and my most outstanding achievement is a series of achievements. There is no end to what I accomplish when I set my mind to it. This is not just me though. This is every single individual applying for this scholarship, and MORE. There is no limit to what any of us can achieve. However, sometimes frustrations when we run into a wall with our success get the best of us. For some, that is enough to give up. People give up when they feel they have gone as far as they can go. I am here to teach people that is not the case, and your level of success is determined by your own ability to push forward. Break down the wall, frame up a door, install the hinges, and keep it moving. When I was 19 years old, I bought my first house and got legal guardianship of my then 13-year-old sibling. Since then, I have watched them flourish into a unique, intelligent person who advocates for young teenagers and children like themselves. They are non-binary and work diligently to find themself in a world where we struggled so much to survive as children - we were never able to find who we were. I found who I was by giving more than I received. I love to help people figure things out. Regardless of what it is - applying for housing, schooling, finding transcripts, finding out how to order new birth certificates or social security cards without identification. These things are near impossible without going through the wringer. You are always going to go through the "wringer" when you are trying to succeed. Do you give up when things get hard? Or do you persevere and get what you want because you fight for it? My passion is simplifying these tasks and making them possible. There is no such thing as a "standstill" in my world. I assist people with figuring things out. I am a professional problem solver. The experience of guiding my youngest sibling through court, through high school, obtaining a driver's license, through applying for colleges, through it all - taught me what I am here for. That is my higher purpose, but not just for my sibling. That is my higher purpose for every single person I come into contact with. That is how I discovered this passion. My persistence in this field is what gets me so far and how I know that I will not disappoint. I know I will not disappoint because if I am in a room where I am the smartest person - then I am in the wrong room. I will continue to level myself up in life, and that is why I am the best candidate for this scholarship. In the future, I hope to own several non-profit organizations and several businesses that will assist my community with figuring things out. No matter if it is easy as finding someone to install a new toilet, or as difficult as proving citizenship when you were born into a family who did not keep up with your birth certificate, SSN, or any identifying documentation. I am a professional problem-solver and I want to help the world hit its ceiling to success. No excuses. This is why I need my Bachelor's degree in Business. I would also love to attend Law School one day.

I want to open several businesses that help people figure life out. Particularly with the younger generations. Getting things done has been exceptionally harder for us, with prices constantly rising, and new rules and regulations being put in place that put a standstill on our progress. If you are from poverty or low income, it is statistically proven that it is harder to pull yourself into a better lifestyle. My ultimate goal is to help people figure things out. Housing, applying for jobs, applying for schools, getting copies of important paperwork, finding transcripts, finding someone who knows how to do something that an individual does not know how to do. Proving that if you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room, and elevating people in my room to the next room for them. I want to help people move on to the next step in their lives. I despise when someone is made to be content stuck in a bad cycle because they are unable to find the information they need to move on. My goal is to help people in the best way I know how to. That was not nursing school as I had originally attempted. For me, that is helping my colleagues, friends, family, strangers, guests, customers, clients, etc., etc., MAKE it in this world and take their success to the highest point possible.
