Bio

Hi! I'm Hannah, a senior at Augusta Christian. I love reading, writing, music of all kinds, playing guitar, my dog, my family and friends, and most importantly Jesus! My biggest goal in life is to help others and in doing so show the glory of God. I want to become an RN and work in Labor and delivery because I love babies, but most importantly, I love helping and guiding a woman through something so beautiful as childbirth.

Dear Future Hannah, I hope you are everything you dreamed to be. I hope you're an amazing nurse working in your dream hospital, and I hope you remember why you wanted to be there in the first place. Through the blood, sweat, and probably all the sleepless nights, I hope you held out on that dream that little us had about helping those who need us. Maybe you are doing labor and delivery as we've always imagined ourselves, but at the end of the day as long as we're happy I don't mind what unit, I'm sure you're making a difference either way. Not to brag but I know you pretty well and I'm sure you've made it, even with any bumps along the way. Not only do I believe you are where we always imagined career-wise, but also in our personal lives. Maybe you have the two or three kids we've imagined since we were little, and the supportive husband we've longed for. I'm sure if you do or don't, you're still a superhero for balancing a career and personal life. Now, here's some advice from a seventeen-year-old you. Don't worry about what others have to say about you or your goals. You are smart and capable of great things and what you do matters. Next, hopefully, you've already gotten a grip on this but if not, stop pushing everything down. Stress, heartbreak, or whatever it is, let others help you. We've always had a sense to find those who need help or guidance and drop everything for them but when it comes to ourselves we don't want to burden others. You have an amazing support system now at seventeen, I can't even begin to imagine the one you have in the future. Let them help and love you, just as you help and love those around you. At the end of the day, you’ve got this. So much of your life was others telling you, you can’t. Whether that's because you're a woman, or because you’re not smart enough, or you don’t test well so how will you ever be a nurse or whatever, but I’m telling you right now that you can do anything. Why, you might ask. Because I am you and you are me, and I know because I feel it deep within me what that fire within feels like. I know how strong we are, and how if someone says we can’t we show them just how wrong they are. I know because we’ve been doing it since kindergarten. We were made to be the ones to break the barriers others put on us. To not only achieve what others never deemed us to be able to achieve, but to be a light in others' darkness. To encourage other little girls who feel their dreams are too big for their little lives, and to show them their lives are bigger than they originally thought. At the end of the day, future Hannah, I hope you’re happy. I hope you remember to love deeply and care always because you never know whose life you’re changing and always remember little us who thought she couldn’t do it, this is for her.
