Bio

My life goals are to get into environmental science and research environmental issues and agricultural issues within my community. I would love to be able to make the world a better place by doing this. Hopefully one day I can start a non profit to better target issues within the industry. I would also love to have my own ranch one day or just live in a small farm house.

    Women in Healthcare Scholarship
I have a respiratory disease I’ve had it since I was 2 years old, I grew up in and out of hospitals all of my life. I have been dismissed and ignored in the field and I have been underestimated and undermined. I’m currently getting my bachelors degree in health science and then I will pursue a degree to be a nurse practitioner in oncology. My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic ovarian cancer and to see how much pain she is in and there’s nothing I can do to fix that makes me even more motivated to find a way to help others. I hope to one day find a way to catch ovarian cancer faster and treat the disease diligently. They call ovarian cancer the silent disease, it sneaks up on you and makes you very sick very fast. I want to find a way to help people so that they’re not finding out too late. I want to help people go into remission and manage their pain better. I hope to one day find a cure as I am watching what it’s doing to my sister and I want to be the person who helps her and others persevere through this disease. My sister has a 9 month old baby and to see her be so sad because she’s too sick to hold him or help him makes me feel very sad for her. I want to be the person people can go to, I want them to be able to vent to me and I want them to feel better. I don’t care if I get recognized because it’s not about that for me, it’s so much more and words can’t even describe how passionate I am about this, how much I care about this. I have always felt that the health care field was calling my name. I have always been so interested and enticed by what there is to offer. I think as a woman the field can be especially competitive and women get looked down upon or not taken as seriously, we can be seen as “too emotional or too involved” but I think that is what makes a great health care provider. When you are compassionate and happy with what you are doing it reflects onto the patients. I love when I get a provider who is able to take me seriously and is able to help me and even let me vent. I love when they are understanding and kind. I want to be those very things for patients. Being in a hospital is lonely and isolating and sometimes all it takes for someone to feel better is a smile and a hello or even a small conversation. I hope to one day be that for people.
    Science Appreciation Scholarship
I am pursuing Environmental Science and I think science is important to society because science contributes to everyday discoveries. Science is a big part of how our socety has progressed through time. Science has helped solved many issues and is currently helping to solve environmental issues. Science has developed phones, cars, microwaves and everyday items we use as a society.
    Dante Luca Scholarship
I have a friend who had been struggling with mental illness. I personally have gone through issues with my mental health and I know what its like to battle it. You feel alone and as if you don't have anyone so I have been being there and letting my friend know that I am there to help and I will do my very best to help them overcome this dark time.
Science Fiction Becomes Science Fact Scholarship
The quote relates to me because, I am often subjected to not wanting to socialize and not be myself because society has taught us that it is better to be fake and not be real. I want to be myself and be real in front of other people not this doesn't relate to the gaming but it relates to being social. Being social is an important part of everyones daily lives. You have to be social to work jobs, go to school, just going out in general. People can use different things as a distraction and those distractions can make it harder to differentiate the differece between reality and gaming. I know because I enjoy playing games and talking to poeple online. It is a lot easier to talk and socialize online because no one has to see you. The media is like a shield. You can say and do what you want without thinking of the consequences of your actions. When you are in person you have to watch what you do and say becuase one wrong move and your compensating for your actions. Sometimes it's better to be online and game because you don't have to deal with the social norms.
    SmartSolar Sustainability Scholarship
I feel like the companies that produce the most pollutions should go green. If these places go green we not only benefit ourselves but we benefit animals and plants too. Trees give homes and provide oxygen when you take those things away animals don't have a place to live. when we pollute the ground an the sky we limit our health. How are we supposed to battle diseases if we cannot breathe properly. I don't want to leave behind a generation that might one day have to wear masks and protective gear because they won't be able to breathe. I personally have asthma and allergies and I stuggle with it everyday. Not being able to breath properly is a big part of the climate because the whether changes so frantically that my body can't keep up, these are issues that thousands of people have everyday and issues I will fight and do my best to help solve.
    Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
When I was younger I used to make jokes with friends about certain illnesses like cancer. I say this specifically because my dad has cancer and when he told me I felt very lost and disappointed in myself because I made jokes like that in front of him when I was younger and at that time I had no idea he was suffering so I couldn't imagine how he felt. I don't make jokes like that anymore and I don't find them funny either. This is something that has changed my perspective for a number of reasons, I realized how insensitive I was being and I learned to change and it also showed me how strong my father is for battling this awful disease and taking care of two teenage daughters. I appreciate him a lot for that and I have learned to not be so insensitive when it comes to sensitive topics. I have learned to grow and become a better person because of it.
    Bold Climate Changemakers Scholarship
I recycle and tell other people to recycle. I try to post as much as I can on social media about issues on the climate as much as possible. I also have long conversations with friends and family about these issues and different ways to change them. I try to pick up trash whenever I see it to make sure that it is disposed of properly.
    Bold Mentor Scholarship
I hope to make other people smile. I work at a Kroger and when we get new hires I have to train them and show them the right way to do things. I make sure to let them know that everyone does things at their own pace and that it's okay to do that. I would rather them not rush and to do the best they can. I try to tech them that it is ok to make mistakes as long as you are trying. I also try to teach them that you're worth is not based on you're performance but you're attitude. I don't just do this when I am at work but I also do this when I am at school and when I assume leadership roles within those places to make sure that everything is getting done properly but also to make sure the people I am working with are doing their very best at their own pace.
