My name is Halle Brady, and I am a senior at Evanston High School in Evanston, Wyoming. I am excited about this opportunity and would like to share a little bit about myself. A few of my biggest values in life are my family, friends, sports, and religious beliefs. This is what has gotten me through life, especially high school. I have always been a 4.0 honor roll student, starting from my first year of middle school. I take academics very seriously and put them at the top of my priority list. Although being an athlete makes it difficult to keep my grades in order, I manage time to do it. I have always scored well on my quarterly WY-TOPP tests and other tests. I have also taken a few Advanced Placement classes, passing in my AP Language and Composition test and scoring high on my AP Biology assessment as well. In addition, I have taken a few Concurrent Enrollment classes: College Personal Finance/Excel Basics, College English 1010/1020, and College Psychology/ Social Psychology. Besides academics, I have taken my athletics very seriously as well. I am a varsity athlete in both volleyball and basketball. Being in athletics has made my high school experience exciting. They have also taught me my most challenging and greatest life lessons, by pursuing and pushing through adversity.
I plan to attend Snow College in the fall of 2023. I aim to complete prerequisites at Snow College and then get accepted into the Radiologic Technology program at Weber State University. I know that my work ethic at Evanston High School will transfer to my further education. It is my aspiration to not only score high on exams but to also learn more than I ever have and transition that knowledge into a successful career. I am choosing a smaller community to do my prerequisites, in order to have smaller size classes.
I look forward to a great learning environment that will better my education, help me learn from other students, and benefit from having the professor readily available.
My father is the person that has influenced me the most to pursue this career. He is a Podiatrist at the Evanston Regional Hospital. He is very successful and loves his job and the responsibility that comes with it. I have always been interested in the medical side of career options, but once I hear about a radiology technician, I fell in love with it immediately.
This opportunity for such an amazing scholarship is very important to me. The money will help me get through college easier and make it less stressful. I can make the promise that the money will not go to waste. I have always had a great work ethic, not only in school and in sports, but in my job history as well. Throughout the past two years, I have worked at the local movie theater part-time, as well as the firework store. I have learned important skills that will help me for my lifetime. I have learned customer service, dedication in labor, dealing with stress, handling and managing money, getting along with coworkers, and finding time during a busy schedule. I believe that having a job in high school, though just part-time, has taught me incredible and unforgettable lessons and skills that I will refer back to and use, during my college experience.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to attend college and further my education. Thank you for your time and for considering my scholarship application.
