Where Paths Cross is my most recent composition for string orchestra. It began as a simple violin duet written during isolation in the spring of 2020 and developed throughout my senior year, culminating in the opportunity to conduct the piece on my orchestra's final concert.
Being a high school senior during a pandemic makes you appreciate the time you have with family and friends, and I wanted this piece to reflect how grateful I am that I was able to cross paths with the loved ones in my life. The violin solo in the beginning is reflective of stepping into the unknown, and as the other parts fill in the soloist is reminded that they are supported and not alone.
