Hi there, thank you for checking my Bold profile!
I am thrilled to provide you with my profile. As a self-taught photographer and videographer with more than five years of expertise, I am passionate about capturing story-telling moments and memories. I delight in bringing out the best in my subjects, whether I'm assisting businesses in showcasing their products or capturing people's inner models.
My path to cinema and media studies has been slightly eventful. I began studying chemical engineering at Portland Community College in pursuit of a well-paying career. However, I quickly learned that was not my forte, and I struggled to keep up in classes. Following some reflection, I decided to follow my passion and changed my major to film and media studies, a topic I've always been genuinely interested in.
It is a dream come true for me to enroll at the University of Washington, and I am thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life. My objective is to obtain scholarships and decrease my debt so that I can complete my school without experiencing cost burden. I am convinced that I will be able to attain my goals and have a positive impact on the world through my film and media studies if I work hard and stay determined.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better!
Halah

I Can Do Anything Scholarship
Filmmaking is the dream lifestyle because it allows me to express my creative vision, share unique perspective with the world, and potentially inspire and impact countless people; while becoming a well known and respected filmmaker would make my dream come true, it's also a way to prove to myself and everyone else that dreaming high is possible.
Maggie's Way- International Woman’s Scholarship
My life and sense of safety have been profoundly impacted by my childhood in the Middle East amidst continuing crises in Iraq and Syria. My parents made the difficult decision to migrate in search of a safer environment due to the continuous insecurity and threat provided by these conflicts. My parents stayed consistent in their belief that education was the path to a brighter future despite the challenges this road faced.
Our journey was not without obstacles, as we traversed conflicted regions, and survived with little resources. My parents' resolve to creating a better life for their children through education never faded. Regardless of where I ended up, they instilled in me the notion that a solid education would provide me with the chances and skills necessary to pursue my dreams.
As a female undergraduate, earning a bachelor's degree is the fulfillment of my parents' hopes and a monument to their unwavering commitment to education. In addition, it represents the sacrifices they made for me and their hope for my future. I am committed to maximize this opportunity and contribute back to my family and community through my education.
Being a refugee has enabled me to appreciate the significance of education and its capacity to impact the future of individuals and communities. I am committed to using my education to make a great impact on my community and am a firm believer that education should be available to everybody, regardless of their circumstances.
Along the same lines as Maggie, my experiences as a refugee in the Middle East and my migration to the United States have had an impact on my level of bravery and determination. My childhood was marked by instability and conflict, which helped me become courageous in the face of obstacles and instilled in me the confidence that I can conquer over any challenge through hard work and persistence.
Not to forget, as a female student in a male-dominated field, I am frequently expected to show my value and strive for recognition. Also, societal expectations and cultural conventions sometimes limit my opportunities and growth potential. However, d espite these barriers, I stay devoted to my studies and to conquering them via diligence, patience, and a solid support system. I am committed to use my degree to have a positive influence on the world and to serve as a role model for other young women facing comparable obstacles.
Yan Scholarship
Growing up in a family of first-generation immigrants, I observed my parents' work ethic and customs. As a person of color, I have witnessed my parents relocate my sister and I from one country to another in search of peace and a higher education while fleeing war. They were raised in impoverished villages where they lacked the means to support their family, and despite having no possibility of completing their education, they insisted on supplying us with whatever we desired.
Whenever I feel discouraged and unmotivated to complete my college work, I recall the sacrifices my parents have made to ensure that my sister and I are in the greatest possible position. I could express my appreciation for my parents' struggle by achieving their American dream by completing college and havinng a successful career.
With this scholarship, I would have a greater chance of completing my degree with stronger support and motivation than previously.
Thank you for your consediraiton.
Taylor J. Paul Arts and Media Scholarship
I consider that films provide a window into the creative mind and a chance to explore places that would not otherwise exist. Fascinating to me is the opportunity to operate behind the scenes, provide, and produce a masterpiece.
As a member of the LGBTQ community and a person of color, I believe that films provide a creative outlet for society and an opportunity to explore diverse facets. As a student, I am enthusiastic to have my own journey expanding my knowledge on arts and media, as well as be proud of my career choice. I feel confident in my ability to thrive in this field as a result of my solid academic background and personality attributes.
SmartSolar Sustainability Scholarship
I believe that everyone can begin to lessen their everyday influence on climate change by taking a number of basic steps. For example, I no longer use a car to commute to work or school; instead, I use an electric scooter or bicycle when I'm feeling particularly energetic. I have limited my meat consumption to once a week or a few times per between 1-2 months. Instead, I rely on veggies and alternative food proteins.
Although these actions are minor, I believe they can assist lessen my impact on the situation. I have even convinced a few friends to make the transition. This is the most successful approach, as little changes can result in huge differences over time.
