Hello, my name is Hailey Mae Hughes! I am currently attending the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma to attain my Bachelor degree in Psychology. My goal is to graduate college with NO student debt! It is a big task, but I believe I can make it happen!
I plan to graduate with my Bachelor's in child psychology. From there, I want to find a job where I can help children better their lives mentally. I love helping others so I feel this profession is a good fit! My main goal is to make children happy and help them overcome mental obstacles. I am very determined and motivated to accomplish my dream goal of becoming a child psychologist!
One thing I have learned in my 17 years of life is to always keep a smile on your face. I have struggled in life just as everyone should, and one thing that got me through it was smiling. I try to make other people's day by simply smiling at them. The little things in life can be so enjoyable if you make it happen.
The most important thing to me is my family. My parents are a big reason I’m so motivated to pursue my dreams. I know what it is like to struggle financially because I grew up in a very low income household. My parents worked their tails off to provide a healthy and stable environment for my sisters and I. I learned so much while going through those hard times, especially that hard work pays off. I am determined to accomplish my goals in the next 2-3 years and I am super excited to start a new chapter in my life once I graduate college. :)

The "We Can Do It!" poster by J. Howard Miller is something I use as motivation every day. The poster was created for the empowerment of women's independence and women who were in the workforce. I am a young woman who struggles every day trying to create the image people have created of women. It is not easy being a woman in today's world. We are set to very high standards that are not always easy to come by.
Being a woman is hard. One thing that has motivated me to become a strong, independent woman is the "We Can Do It!" poster. It has taught me to stand up for myself, and other women. It has encouraged me to be an aspiring and hard-working mother and wife when I get older. The poster has proved to many people that women are capable of whatever they strive to be.
