Bio

I am an aspiring character animator and storyboard artist. I pitched a cartoon to cartoon network recently. I plan to one day get a cartoon picked up. I am extremely passionate about art. I am a hardworking student and I am very determined to achieve my goals. However, I am not from a very financially well-off family my mom is about 100k in debt. It was extremely hard for us to even get a loan for me due to how much debt she was already in. My dad is disabled so he couldn't take out one either. So, I will need help paying it off with scholarships . Yes I got a half ride and financial aid but it isnt enough.

The impact I want to make through art is I want to destroy the mental illness stigma, especially with the mental illness I struggle with on a daily basis.I struggle heavily with OCD and I think through cartoons and animation I can help people understand that they are not only not alone but it may help parents understand a bit better as well. learning your child is dealing with a mental illness can be hard but you wouldn't want them to feel like you didn't understand or for them to feel alone in the world. I always felt alone I never had the mental support I needed. During school, I plan to work on making the piolet of a cartoon where my character is dealing with OCD and after he suffers a loss in his life, He goes into a downward spiral of mental breakdowns until his best friend a bartender who owns and runs a gay bar tries to help him deal with his existential OCD during the start of the apocalypse and accept that the world is ending and they are all going to die. Existential OCD is extremely hard to deal with on your own and showing someone who has this issue getting help especially since the character is a man may inspire some men like my father to get help with their issues. Men with mental health issues not getting treatment is a severely underrepresented issue. People with OCD like myself are severely misrepresented as well we are all shown as clean freaks and that is not what OCD is. I've attached the link to my portfolio and 3 examples of my work.
