My father, Mr. Edward Green, unwavering support on my educational journey is one of my major strengths, and it has played a profound role in my life. In July 2019, my father, a dedicated police officer with 30 years of service, faced a life-altering incident while responding to a potential burglary. This incident marked a turning point in his life and significantly impacted mine. His long and esteemed career as a police officer was abruptly halted when he endured a severe injury, resulting in a complex combination of dislocation, fracture, break, and torn ligaments in his right arm. He was deemed totally and permanently disabled, which meant that our lives were about to take an unexpected turn.
As a single parent, my father instilled in me the importance of education from a very young age. He firmly believed that a strong foundation of knowledge was the key to unlocking a world of opportunities. His passion for learning and educational achievements were a constant source of inspiration. He consistently reminded me that education was the passport to my future and was determined to ensure I had the best passport possible.
The most significant way my father has supported me in reaching my educational goals is through his unwavering belief in my artistic abilities. Regardless of my challenges or setbacks, he was always there with a reassuring smile, reminding me that I had the talent, determination, and potential to overcome any obstacle. His belief in me gave me the self-confidence to persevere in the face of adversity, much like the adversity he faced that summer night in 2019.
My father's support went beyond just words of encouragement. He dedicated his time and energy to helping me with my studies. Countless evenings were spent together, pouring over textbooks, solving math problems, and discussing complex concepts. His patience knew no bounds, and he always found creative ways to explain tough subjects, making them seem manageable and enjoyable.
Furthermore, my father has been my financial anchor throughout my educational journey. He understood the financial burdens of pursuing higher education and was determined to ease that burden for me. Despite his challenges and the uncertainty of his disability benefits, he worked tirelessly to provide for us and, without hesitation, allocated a significant portion of his earnings to fund my education. His sacrifices and unwavering support allowed me to focus on my studies without worrying about financial constraints.
As I progressed in my academic journey, my father continued to adapt and support me in new ways. He recognized the importance of extracurricular activities and encouraged me to explore my interests outside the classroom. Whether it was joining clubs, participating in competitions, or pursuing internships, he was always there to provide guidance and help me make the most of these opportunities.
In addition to his support, my father's unwavering love and belief in me were powerful motivators. Knowing that he had sacrificed so much for my education, I felt a deep sense of responsibility to excel.
In closing, being raised by a single father who has been my greatest champion and supporter on my educational journey has been a transformative experience. I am profoundly grateful for his love and guidance, and I can confidently say that I would not have reached my academic goals without him by my side. His resilience in the face of adversity and his unwavering commitment to my education have shaped me into the person I am today, and for that, I am forever thankful.

As a child, I was always fascinated by the world of comics. I was drawn to the vibrant and colorful illustrations, the exciting storylines, and the larger-than-life characters that filled the pages of each comic book. As I grew older, my love for comics only intensified, and I began to dream of becoming a comic book writer.
This dream was one I gained from my best friend, who introduced me to comic books and his own dream to create these stories. My passion for the arts grew from my love of drawing and writing stories with him for over a decade. I find that as I've grown older, art has always been something that has stuck with me when many other things in my life have changed. I never grew a distaste or a lack of interest in the media, and to this day, it is what I want to pursue a career in.
There are many reasons why I want to become a comic book writer, but perhaps the most compelling is my desire to tell stories. I believe comics are a unique and powerful medium for storytelling, with the ability to captivate readers in a way few other forms of media can match. Through the pages of a comic book, I can transport readers to new worlds, introduce them to unforgettable characters, and take them on thrilling adventures they will never forget.
My artistic skills have developed and changed drastically from when I first started on pen and paper. I have grown fascinated with the contrasting values in Black and White art and how the opposites of each spectrum can make an image pop out to the viewer. But this does not mean I have abandoned color in my works either. I still understand how color gives emotion and life to the world, and instead of using multiple colors in art, I like to use one color over all that will dominate a piece while using black and white tones to give form to the color.
Of course, becoming a comic book writer is not an easy task. It requires dedication, hard work, and a willingness to learn and grow as a writer. But I believe that the rewards are well worth the effort. For one, there is the sheer joy of creating something new and exciting, something that has the potential to touch the lives of countless people around the world. And there is also the satisfaction of knowing that I am contributing to a rich and vibrant art form that has brought joy and entertainment to millions of people for generations.
