My name is George Mochama. I am a senior in James Bowie High School planning on getting a Bachelor's degree in either Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Tech Engineering. I'm hoping to attend college for a two-year Associate’s degree and transfer to University to conclude my four-year Bachelor’s degree. My dream is to be able to support myself and my future family and on the other hand help my current family in the future. My quest for knowledge and securing a position in class blossomed actually in my school, where I used to be among the top 10 students. In preparation for my career, in high school I took some engineering introduction classes and other engineering branches classes. One of the pre requisite on Electrical/Tech engineering is a bachelor's degree and if I'm unable to complete the degree I will lose my chance at my dream job.
As a sophomore I decided to take a different route and took Computer science and Introduction to Engineering Design. Computer science was going very well but as we got into coding and programming I was understanding some programming principles and not understanding the rest. As hard and confusing that was to me, I still worked hard to pass the class. In Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) the class seemed okay to me and I was comfortable with it and that's when I decided to go with engineering.
Advance ahead to my Junior year where I was determined to study the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) courses. I decided to take three engineering courses which were Digital Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and Principles of Engineering (POE). Furthermore in my senior year, I'm currently enrolled in Engineering Design and Development (EDD). The curriculum is an engineering research course in which students work in teams to design and develop an original solution to a valid open-ended technical problem by applying the engineering design process. In the upcoming future I hope to pursue my dreams of becoming an engineer to help with future technology. My intent is the study of STEMS and looking back to previous choices I realized how big of an impact the engineering classes have developed me and how much I have learned from them. I used to just attend the classes because they might help me but now I go to my classes to learn and push myself and question myself. As a senior now, I am graduating on June 2022 with a better understanding and importance of my future.
