Hello, I will be the third generation in my family to go into the trade field(s). My grandparents have worked in the electrical, erection and steel trades and my other relatives have worked in project management, project controls, electrical engineering, civil, and soft craft trades. I have seen and heard firsthand what the trades can do for an individual and family. Beyond the pay and opportunities trades provide, they also instill the core values of hard work, honesty, and integrity. I have always done better with hands-on activities and I will be a lot more happy and satisfied with my job if it involves physical work. I could never see myself working an office job, I need to be active so a trade would be perfect for me. Another reason I think a trade job would be a great career choice for me is because the demand for trades is growing daily and they make a big impact in our society, so I would like to be a part of that culture eventually helping, teaching and encouraging others to part of the ever-growing demand for trades. I appreciate the consideration of my application for the Bob Gana Memorial Scholarship. Regards, Gavin Lamkin
