Wrestling had been a fundamental part of my life, and the injury was a devastating setback. However, instead of succumbing to discouragement, I used it as an opportunity for growth. I focused on rehabilitation, maintained my leadership role on the wrestling team, and found new ways to contribute, such as motivating teammates and strategizing matches. This adversity reinforced my belief in resilience, adaptability, and the importance of pushing through obstacles—traits essential in engineering.
Beyond academics, I find fulfillment in leadership, mentorship, and service. As a lead speaker in SAGE, a student advisory group, I worked to implement meaningful changes within my school. This experience reinforced my belief that leadership can inspire positive transformation. Additionally, my involvement in Model UN broadened my understanding of global issues, particularly the struggles faced by marginalized communities, fueling my determination to advocate for underrepresented voices in STEM.
One of my most rewarding experiences has been assisting students with chemistry and physics. By breaking down complex concepts, I have helped my peers develop confidence in their abilities. My dedication to this mission extends beyond academics—I have also taken leadership roles in wrestling, stepping up when previous leaders left and motivating my teammates to push through adversity.
Furthermore, I have actively contributed to my community through volunteer work. I participated in the BC Charles courtyard cleanup alongside Eagle Scouts, helping to revitalize a space that fosters environmental awareness and community engagement. I also volunteered at the B.C. Charles Annual Carnival, running a game station and assisting with event setup. Additionally, I helped raise funds for my wrestling team through car washes and promotional efforts, demonstrating my commitment to supporting those around me.

My passion for math and physics, combined with my relentless curiosity, has driven me to pursue a career in mechanical engineering, with the ultimate goal of working for NASA and contributing to the development of interplanetary travel. I plan to earn a PhD in mechanical engineering, specializing in propulsion systems or spacecraft design, to play a role in advancing humanity’s reach beyond Earth.
