I’m Gabriel Cristiano Abreu de Souza, originally from Brazil, where I grew up in a community with limited resources but abundant dreams. As the first in my family to attend college, I’ve embraced the challenge of navigating higher education in a new country. My journey brought me to the USA, where I’m pursuing a degree in Film Production. My upbringing in Brazil instilled in me a deep sense of resilience and determination. I’ve always been driven by a passion for storytelling, recognizing the power of film and media to connect people and inspire change. At Simon’s Rock, I’m refining my technical skills while also exploring how storytelling can be a force for social impact. Beyond academics, my experiences in community service have been integral to my growth. Whether organizing local events or participating in initiatives that support those in need, I’ve consistently sought to use my skills to give back. These experiences have shaped my perspective and fueled my commitment to using my education to make a meaningful difference. Looking forward, my goal is to continue developing as a filmmaker, using my work to amplify voices and challenge societal norms. I’m excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and am determined to make the most of every opportunity to contribute positively to the world through my craft.
