Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
The study strategies I used to help keep myself focused and successful is first put away all distractions. Once I pick up my phone I can sit on it for hours so I like to keep it in a corner where I won't get up to get it. Next I turn off all music, TV or anything that can be of distraction for me and turn on calming rain noises. I would like to think that I can multi task but my test scores never benefit from it. Once I have gotten rid of all distractions and am in a comfortable quiet place I can do my work. Sometimes I like to give myself a five minute break if I am feeling antsy but than try to re-focus.
I like to use fun sites like quizlet, kahoot or just plain flashcards to help me memorize and remember material. Sometimes the most successful studying is having a study partner. I always have my mom quiz me to make sure I have remembered all of the material. These are just some of my tips and tricks for studying!
Davila Scholarship
Drunk driving has not only impacted my life but others around me. When I was a year old my cousin was drunk driving and drifted into the oncoming lane striking another car head on. The girl inside who was also drunk was killed on impact and the passenger was ejected from the car and paralyzed. My cousin only had a broken leg. He was convicted and sentenced to 7 years giving up his life long dream of becoming a P.E teacher.
My goal is to receieve my criminal justice degree and help others understand the impacts of drunk driving. Sober driving is always a safer option. My father who was also a police officer saved many lives and I plan on following in his footsteps.
Tina and Danny Rodriguez Scholarship
Helping people has always been a dream of mine. Growing up my parents both met each other working at Saint Francis Police Department. My father was a police officer for over ten years. Watching him help the community helped me realize that this was my dream career. This scholarship would greatly affect my goals because without extra help I wouldn't be able to put myself through college and achieve my dreams of keeping my community safe. These scholarships will impact my future career because I can recieve an education and be able to give back to my community the way my father did.
