My name is Evalynne. I am currently a senior going into my fourth year of business and marketing classes (three years of which were in the school's business academy). I aspire to go into corporate financing and business analytics in hopes to one day work as a chief financial officer for companies in the technological or accounting fields. Whatever company I end up working for, I want it to be an international company. Both the technological and business fields offer lifelong learning and experience opportunities and these fields continue to expand and grow alongside our society, pushing to become and adjust to the needs of society, which is different culturally worldwide, and I want to experience working with people and seeing what other people learn from all around the globe.
I grew up around the restaurant industry. My grandparents (on my stepfathers side) moved Miceli's restaurant from west virginia to florida, before my dad and his brother took the strings and turned it into the Miceli's Waterfront Restaurant with a 4.5/5 star rating it has today. At the end of most nights I would be sitting down with my dad or my mom (depending on who closed as there was a four way split ownership) and watch as they counted the money. I always had so many questions like “If all money is the same then why do you divide it into different portions'' or “ why are you counting things like that?¨ And as a on-hand learner, sometimes they would hand the money or coin rolls to me and ask me to help and while I would help, my mom ( who was in the accounting industry for 15 years until the market collapse in 2009/2010) would always explain to me as I would sit there and help.
I have other experiences such as being an officer and National Junior Honor Society that help with financing and planning for community service. and also have more experience when it comes to working after school.
In the near future I want to be able to go to a college or university and get a master's degree in corporate financing, a bachelor's degree in business analytics, and an associate's degree in business and marketing. While I am in school, I am hoping to have the chance to study abroad, to travel to other countries and other schools and see how they differ from our learning system. The reason I want to do this is because I have seen the business aspect with companies first hand. I think that understanding how other people are learning can create a deeper connection to the people you could work with as well as the work itself. it allows for a more open View on what's being planned, in this case the financial future of a company. I have seen how people from different parts of the US have contradicting or different views on how something should be run, and it creates a very stressful environment, simply because we all learned differently. I want to take the knowledge I have gained from traveling and be able to go to a business and work with their financial team and understand where everybody is coming from- making a more positive and open environment- while still getting the job done.
