Bio

My name is Estefani Martinez. I'm a Hispanic immigrant in the US and I'm seeking to major Electrical Engineering at University at Buffalo. My career goals are to help fight Climate Change, and harmful consumerism, take part of independent research and aid in innovation to change humanity's path in the world by contributing to the conversion from combustion to renewable energy. I moved to the US when I was 13 years old and being an immigrant has been a significantly difficult and painful road due to numerous issues regarding both, personal problems and finances. However, this change helped me learn and develop truly fulfilling ideals; I have realize that struggle is only the aliment for strength and success and how much I love learning from things, and perspectives I though I would never grow interest in or agreed on before. I want to make an impact for all the people, like me, who may have struggled with domestic and financial issues and other personal restraints from positivity. I seek to develop genuine stoicism through all my challenges, grow into a strong, pure person even if I'm from a corrupted environment and be proud of all the difficult and joyful aspects of my story. I want to be proof that it's never too late to love yourself, that is possible to break free from harmful devotions and be disciplined with your goals. I seek to show all my gratitude to the friends who have taught me to see the world differently and protect the people who support me and who need support. Every little donation would be a boost for me and my promise to be strong.

I am Estefani Martinez. My name is Estefani, I am a Hispanic immigrant in the United States from Venezuela and I'm seeking to major Electrical Engineering at University at Buffalo. My career goals are to help fight Climate Change, and harmful consumerism, take part of independent research and aid in innovation to change humanity's path in the world by contributing to the conversion from combustion to renewable energy. I also desire to help the planet and be able to contribute to the transition to renewable energy and be able to provide it to disadvantaged people in developing countries. My academic goals consist in gaining experience and contributing to the transition from limited to renewable energy and helping the planet by minimizing harmful consumerism habits and developing innovative renewable energy. I seek to be an active independent researcher and engineer with new ways to contribute to society. I seek to contribute to the health of the planet and people affected by it by finding ways to remedy industrialization and it's harm, especially in third world countries. I plan on getting a Master's degree and take part in many internships while in college so I can gain enough experiences for my personal academic goals. I moved to the United States when I was 13 years old and being an immigrant has been a significantly difficult and painful road due to numerous issues regarding both, personal problems and finances. However, this change helped me learn and develop truly fulfilling ideals; I have realize that struggle is only the aliment for strength and success and I realized how much I love learning from things, and perspectives I though I would never grow interest in or agreed on before. I seek to show all my gratitude to the friends who have taught me to see the world differently and protect the people who support me and those who need support. Being in a STEM major is not just exciting but genuinely intimidating; my desire to pursue a career in Electrical Engineering triggers me but also fuels me immensely, I feel that almost anything could happen and I really want to give all my blood, sweat and tears into this dream. Personally, it's an opportunity to expose all my energy and potential I've felt oppressed; to ascend from a dark pit and make it up to myself from all those years of pessimism and sentiments of incompetence. And it's specially difficult since I am just starting to learn a being fulfilled for many new things for which existence I though obsolete. By being an Electrical Engineer I might be able to contribute and fight for what I believe it's right. I don't just seek a good career for good money, a extravagant quality of life. I have learned that there are things more meaningful than short-term pleasures and materialism and I feel fortunate to know that I don't want to be tied to temptations anymore. At this point, dear donor, I might sound overly philosophical and subjective. In fact, I consider myself more of an artist: I love to illustrate, I have loved to play the keyboard since I was 10 years old, I used to play the violin in high school and I want to buy my own violin someday. Then why do I want to pursue something so technical and objective? Because I know that this, not just for getting out of my comfort zone, will make me into the person I truly want to be. I will be able to help the planet and even if my contribution it's just a grain of sand, I hope to be helping make a gigantic full desert of contributions. This is really just the beginning and I consider my struggles the evidence of the rigorous but amazing path I will be walking on. During these months in college I've experienced many stress and doubts but at the same time many blessings. My situation is difficult, I'm in a big financial need and I feel responsible since I've been ignorant and naive during my high school years and never had the courage to participate in paid jobs due to fear, family conflicts and immigrational documentation misinformation. I opted to apply for many scholarships in order to aid my educational expenses, dorm and necessities. I currently study and dorm in the University at Buffalo, I felt confident in studying here because my father supported that I could rely on him for the dorm expenses in the initial school year while I apply to all financial aid possible, and I wanted to move far from the toxic environment of my household but the situation has terribly complicated. My father's financial situation had just worsen and I'm not sure if I can even rely on him. But as I seek to be more stoic and strong in order to manage new problems I am ready for anything that might come. I truly want to stay in this college but I understand I must earn it properly. Today, I'm seeking all the help possible, but If things complicate, I'll recall the blessings: the friends I've met and their help towards the significant mental growth I've had during this past few months in this University. If I have to start again somewhere else I will make the most out of these experiences, after all, I am not subject of my situations, I am a tough seed. I am Estefani Martinez.
