I am a Master's student in Philosophy at the University of Virginia. I also attended UVA as an undergraduate, double-majoring in Philosophy and Foreign Affairs and minoring in Latin American Studies. I graduated two years early with an overall GPA of 3.8 and a Philosophy GPA of 3.89, and I won the award for Exemplary Undergraduate Work in Philosophy.
During my undergraduate career, I completed coursework at University College, Oxford, and I completed independent research on environmental ethics and ecotourism in Torres del Paine, Chile. Additionally, I was hired as a Research Assistant in the Philosophy department at UVA. My work included editing a forthcoming book of a Philosophy professor and researching Cartesian metaphysics and epistemology. I also served as President of the Undergraduate Philosophy Club.
I am fluent in Spanish, and I am currently studying French because of my interest in Descartes. In graduate school, I plan to research Descartes on philosophy of mind, self-knowledge, and freedom, specifically the relation between reason, perception, the will, the soul, and God.
