My name is Emily Hunt, and I am currently a High School senior at North Bullitt High School. I love helping people in a community in some way possible, and my current job takes a huge part in that. I currently work at a daycare and the best part is getting to personally know the kids and their parents, and building relationships. In the future I am going to be a pharmacist, but that requires big degrees. That also means tuition will be very expensive. I want to be able to pay for college out of pocket to avoid debt, and retire before 65. Gifting me with these scholarships will be a huge help in paying off tuition after college, and help me reach my goals of paying out of pocket with cash.

A Man Helping Women Helping Women Scholarship
The biggest role model in my life is my mother. A lot of her struggles included losing my dad to a heart attack and having to take care of her two kids on her own. Many people doubted her due to the situation we were in, but no one knew how strong she is. Seeing this growing up made me into that person and blessed me with so much potential. It has taught me that no matter the people that doubt you, or how hard it actually gets, in the end everything will be okay. I will use this in life and go far with the goals I dream of such as becoming an RN and working in a nursing home. I know it will be a challenge, I know I could make a huge difference to the workplace I enter one day.
When I experienced my great grandmother going away to a nursing home, and hearing the feedback from someone I love that had to experience that is heartbreaking. It doesn’t take much to make those residents day, just a visit is something that means the world to them. When I was very young, I would come to work with my mom and visit the residents. I would sit down and make them cards, and let the women play with my hair. They meant a lot to me and I know what I did for them meant a lot too. Making the last moments in others’ lives happy and comfortably is what is important to me.
Before I would come to the nursing home with my mom, she was going to school that I have faint memories of. I would come with her and play with my princess action figures in her office. At the time, I thought nothing of it, but looking back it amazes me what my mother has always been capable of. She was going to school, working, and taking care of her children while my father also worked at the time. So no matter what challenge's I may face, no matter my situation or what people think about it, I know that as long as I put in the work, motivation, and drive into what I do things will turn out right.
I plan to attend a 2-year community college right after high school, working towards my associates in nursing. Once I obtain my associates, I will transfer to University of Louisville, while also attending Nursing School. I will be going for my Bachelor’s degree, and following my mother’s footsteps in the nursing pathway.
In conclusion, this scholarship would be an amazing gift by helping me receive the education I need at my community college so that I can move on to my next journey of obtaining my bachelor’s degree. A simple visit to an elderly can make their day, and I plan to lighten up my future workplace and follow my mothers footsteps.
“The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
One character from The Office that I resonate most with is Pam Beesly. As a first time college student, I find myself drawn to her character for several reasons. Firstly, Pam possesses a quiet determination and resilience, which I attempt to achieve as well, to embody in the face of challenges and setbacks. Additionally, her journey of self-discovery and personal growth throughout the series resonates with me as I navigate my own academic and professional development. Pam's ability to balance her personal relationships with her career aspirations serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
From Michael Scott's cringe-worthy yet endearing antics to Dwight Schutte's over-the-top dedication to his job, the characters in "The Office" have taught me that humor can be found in the most mundane or challenging situations. It's also highlighted the importance of teamwork, communication, and empathy in navigating the dynamics of a workplace. One of my all time favorite scenes is when they brought the dummy for Michael to demonstrate CPR on to the beat of "Staying Alive." This scene demonstrates humor, teamwork, and perseverance in the workplace.
In conclusion, "The Office" has shaped my sense of humor and perspective on the workplace dynamic from once thinking that it was slacking in the workplace when you have fun, to showing me that humor can be applied anywhere. As long as you keep up teamwork and communication, you can make it fun.
1989 (Taylor's Version) Fan Scholarship
When Taylor Swift released her re-recorded album, "1989 (Taylor's Version)" in 2021, fans including me, were ecstatic to hear the nostalgic songs from her original 2014 album, which is now owned by Miss Taylor herself. The new layers of maturity that she added to her songs kind of shows me how my generation has grown with Taylor, and the songs which brings more of a personal connection to this album. Among these tracks are several that have stood out as particularly relatable and meaningful to me.
A great song on "1989 (Taylor's Version)" is "Blank Space." In this song, Taylor portrays the idea of being seen as a "crazy" ex-girlfriend or partner due to societal stereotypes about women expressing their emotions. I don't know about you, but I know I've definitely had boy moments that made me feel and think that way she showed in the video. The lyrics playfully acknowledge these stereotypes as well, with lines like "Got a long list of ex-lovers / They'll tell you I'm insane" for anyone who has been unfairly judged for their feelings. It is something that a lot of people go through, and being able to scream a song by someone who was feeling the same way creates a connection with the artist and song. The catchy chorus and beat only add to the song's appeal, making it more of a favorite among fans.
"Style" is another song from "1989 (Taylor's Version)" that stands out to me. This song dives into the complexities of relationships and how they can shape our perceptions of ourselves and others. I have been in situations where her lyrics could directly apply. They paint a vivid picture of a passionate but confusing romance, paying attention to the highs and lows of falling in love with someone who may not be good for us. She has a sense of honesty and realness in her lyrics, which almost makes you want to rant with her about these situations.
Finally, "Shake It Off" is arguably one of the most iconic tracks on the album, and one that little me would absolutely jam to. She speaks an empowering message of self-acceptance and resilience. In this song, and addresses criticism and negativity head-on, encouraging listeners to shake off judgment and live authentically without fear of what others may think. I recite the song title a lot when things don't go as planned, "just shake it off and move on." The infectious energy of the music combined with the uplifting lyrics make this track an instant mood-booster that inspires confidence and positivity.
In conclusion, "1989 (Taylor's Version)" features several songs that have left a lasting impact on fans due to their relatability and catchy tunes. From exploring societal expectations around relationships in "Blank Space" to capturing the bittersweet longing of unanswered love in "Wildest Dreams," each track offers something unique that speaks to different aspects of human experience. Without limits, there is something for everyone on this album that will leave you feeling understood and uplifted by Taylor Swift's abilities and talents.
Scorenavigator Financial Literacy Scholarship
Financial education is crucial for everyone, regardless of age or background. It equips individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed financial decisions, manage money effectively, and plan for the future. Not being educated on finances can land you in a hole that you can't get out of for 20 years.
Right now, I am a senior in high school. I am currently taking a personal finance class so all of this information I am just now able to apply to my life. I have my first job that provides me income so I have money to use and get in the habit of handling money well. One key aspect of financial education is understanding basic financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt. The earlier you get started, the more money you can invest, then the earlier you get to retire.
Setting a zero based budget is a great strategy to manage your bad money habits. It is something I got into and it helped me not feel guilty anymore for the things that I bought. I used to also struggle so much with self control. This taught me how to act much better when it came to money, now I am set for when I need to buy a house, or I can start investing very early.
Before I was educated, I had it set up in my mind I wanted to go to a four year university right after college, I wanted to buy a brand new car, I was considering asking for student loans, all because I was uneducated. These things all added up would have landed me in so much debt in the future, with student loans and car payments. Now my path is going to a 2-year community college to save money on my classes and make college cheaper. I no longer "need" that brand new car that would lose half its value as soon as I drove it off of the lot.
At this point in time, my goal is to develop a good money personality, and handle my money well so that I don't dig myself a hole by being uneducated. It is important to make the correct choices and to understand the risks of just spending and not thinking about your future. I want to stay debt free, and pay cash for college and my car. This way, I won't live like the average American, living paycheck to paycheck. I am aware that this takes time and self discipline, but in the end I will live my life happily and retire early with no financial burdens.
Overall, financial education is a lifelong journey, and I am committed to testing my capabilities to reach my goals when it comes to financial literacy. Your journey starts the moment you get money, and it's up to you all the way how it ends.
“Stranger Things” Fanatic Scholarship
Of course eleven is important when it comes to the supernatural threat, she's got it all! Due to her telepathic and telekinetic abilities, she can move things with her mind which has many advantages to the group. She can create barriers, levitate the Demogorgon's, and throw objects at them...with her mind! Plus, her telepathic abilities can help her understand their movements and plans, combining all of that with her bravery, and determination in tough situations she would fit great in the new trio.
Chief Hopper would also be someone else that I think fits well in the trio. He is a very tough man who has taken on a lot in the show, he is resourceful, and has experience dealing with dangerous situations considering he is the sheriff of Hawkins. His knowledge of the town and its surroundings can be really valuable in planning strategies to outsmart the Demogorgon's. He is also not afraid to get his hands dirty and take charge, as he's had to do many times. This would be crucial in leading the squad and keeping everyone focused during the fight. Hopper's combat skills and determination would definitely make a difference in battling those Demogorgon's!
Dustin would make a great person to this trio as well. He is very smart and resourceful, like when he set up the whole radio to communicate with Susie. He also raised Dart, not knowing he was a Demogorgon, so he has some knowledge that the average person doesn't to help out the group. Dustin has a very creative mind, and is always coming up with clever ideas and solutions, which is a great help to the group in outsmarting the Demogorgon's. Another trait about Dustin that I love is he has a positive attitude always, and a great sense of humor. This could boost the squads morale during the traumatic battles and keep the trio together.
